Ruby was a Pastry Chef in the New Orleans restaurant scene for 6 years before starting her own business. Our background is in restaurants, so we put flavor and ingredients at the top of our priority list!     Ruby is the best!! From the initial email, to a very easy, nice and flowy conversation about my very loose ideas, she took those random ideas and made me some beautiful taste cakes, the one we landed on was carrot cake with an horchata mousse in between layers (to honor my mexican heritage and cause horchata is my favorite) with a cream cheese frosting. The day of the wedding the most stunning cake showed up, two tiers, semi naked cake, apart from it being beautiful it was delicious! Such a huge fan of Ruby and all of her delicious creations, hire her, you won’t regret it!

    We ordered two Christmas Bake Boxes and two sets of Christmas macarons from Ruby. The items shipped promptly, arrived in perfect condition, and were both beautiful and delicious. Ruby will be doing our daughter’s wedding cake in the fall. We were very impressed with the tasting boxes of cake she provided us. The presentation was excellent and the samples were large and delicious. We look forward to many more tasty treats from Salt and Light.
