When looking for an engagement and wedding photographer I wanted someone who was creative with their shoots, had a modern, yet timeless editing style, and was fun and flexible as we would be spending lots of time together! With Misha, I found exactly that!! For our engagement shoot, my husband and I had a vision to do our pictures with two of our favorite things: beer and redwood trees. Misha made our dreams come to a reality and was so helpful in finding a time when the lighting would work with both locations! And if wedding planning isn't already overwhelming enough, we had to cancel our big summer wedding due to COVID and switched to a backyard micro-wedding. Misha was extremely supportive and flexible the entire time! She helped me schedule our new mini wedding to a time that would work for lighting in my husband's parent's backyard, so we could get some killer golden hour shots! Side note: she also helped me get out makeup stains that ended up on my dress during our ceremony haha she can do it all! So thankful Misha was by our side during our engagement season and wedding ceremony! We cannot wait to work with her again for our (hopefully) 2021 wedding reception! :)

Maria Villano Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $6,200
  • Serves Watsonville, CA

I've been photographing weddings for over ten years and I love it even more than when I started. I consider it an honor to be there for so many special moments in people's lives and find something unique and new with every wedding day. I am punctual, flexible, and attentive, helping to bring a calm and focused vibe to your wedding day.

My husband, Rob, and I have been married for a little over a month now and since then, we've reflected on everything from our Sonoma wedding -- all the parts we loved about, things we wish we could change, relatives we wished we didn't invite... but above all else, we are over the moon to have had the privilege of sharing our day with Maria. From our very first intro phone call, Maria was everything we were looking for in a photographer. She was friendly, direct, professional, and had an amazing sense of humor that made us feel comfortable immediately. She had wonderful way of sharing her ideas and thoughts without pushing a specific style or direction on to us that made us feel confident in our decisions. I recall during the conversation that she had been the only vendor to have asked Rob what he envisioned for our big day, what he wanted, how we met, and how he would describe our style. Though small, that really stood out to us and during the call, Rob and I looked at each other and with a collective 'yeah, let's do this' and booked her immediately. We never though an engagement session would be in the cards for us, but Maria took us out of our comfort zone and gave us a day in Point Reyes we will never forget. I look at our engagement photos basically on a weekly basis and think about how far Rob and I have come from that day, but to also remember what an awesome day that was getting to know Maria and feeling comfortable in front of her camera. If you're like me and feel like an engagement session is too extragravant or not a must-have, I urge you to reconsider. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know Maria, feeling good with our poses, learning our angles (trying to, at least), and honestly, is a really fun thing to do together amongst all the planning. As our wedding was in Sonoma in October, there was threats of power outages (thankfully, we were all clear) and Maria had texted me a few days prior to share encouragement and let me know it was all going to be okay. I was so moved by that and it meant so much to have her looking out for us. On the day of our wedding, Maria was everything and we could not imagine that day without her there. She made us both calm and grounded amidst the chaos and nerves of the day, never losing sight at how big of a moment this was and made us, our families, and friends all feel so beautiful. This woman, though, does not stop. Shortly after our wedding, Sonoma was once again under the threat of more power outages (insert expletive about PG&E here). As Maria lives near the area, her family had to evacuate. Before I could even reach out, she let me know that the evacuation would not delay her process and had all of our photos everything backed on to a hard drive. I mean! I can't even. Our photos came out stunning, from our pre-ceremony shots, to dancing photos and everything in between. Our pre-ceremony portrait session was honestly such a highlight from the day and I am so glad she suggested doing a first look (seriously, DO IT!) because the lighting was magic and it was a blessing to have the time to do it all before the reception began. These photos are memories we will cherish forever and ones I can't wait to show our future family (I'm not normally this sappy, but this is seriously how talented Maria is). Since the wedding, Rob and I have loved every minute looking back on it all but more than once we've asked - Can we hang out with Maria again? Thank you for everything :)

Flora Gibson Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $9,900
  • Serves Watsonville, CA

I’m Flora and I'm a California native who loves to travel and chase the light in Big Sur. I love to ski, snowboard, hike, kayak and explore new locations. I pair best with couples who seek adventure and give me their trust to capture their moments. I want to capture the wind in your hair, the way your hand reaches for your partner and the real way you embrace. I don’t want to be just another vendor on your list, I will be by your side all day, from lifting your dress so you can pee to patting down that stray piece of hair, let’s be friends while we do it! I would be honored to join you !

Flora Review From the moment we stumbled upon Flora Gibson’s portfolio, we were instantly captivated by her ability to capture raw emotion and breathtaking scenery. It was in that moment that our search for the perfect photographer was at an end. From our initial interactions with Flora, we felt an immediate sense of ease and connection. Her warm and friendly demeanor put us at ease, making it effortless to discuss our vision for our elopement. Flora’s professionalism was evident as she took the time to understand our story and what moments were most important to us to capture. We knew we were in good hands when Flora asked us personal questions about our relationship through a special questionnaire to get to know us even better. She even wanted to know our favorite music choices so that she could help curate a playlist for the day. Music is an important aspect of our relationship, so it meant even more to us that she valued the importance of creating the perfect atmosphere for the day. Planning an elopement can be a bit nerve-wracking, especially when it comes to entrusting someone to capture the once in a lifetime moments. However, any worries we had quickly dissipated as Flora demonstrated her expertise and attention to detail throughout the process. She provided valuable guidance, ensuring that every aspect of the shoot, from lighting to composition, would be flawless. Her experience with elopements was clearly evident and immensely appreciated! Flora walked us through each step of the way, yet allowed us plenty of space and time to create our own intimate and private memories. From the forests of Oak Glen to the cliff sides of Soberanes, we shared intimate moments that will forever be treasured. What truly sets Flora apart is her ability to make couples feel genuinely unique and special. She went above and beyond to create an atmosphere that allowed our love and personalities to shine through, despite any feelings of awkwardness or discomfort. Flora’s talent lies not only in capturing beautiful photographs but also in cultivating an environment where we felt comfortable being ourselves. Any feelings of insecurities were quickly dissolved. We still don’t know how she managed to do it, but she somehow made us beginners look like we were seasoned models, as if we had done photoshoots many times prior. Her genuine enthusiasm and passion for her craft were infectious, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment of the shoot. She was able to draw out the most intimate moments of our embraces and capture them so effortlessly. When we received the photos from Flora, with expediency, we were absolutely blown away. Each image beautifully encapsulated the essence of our elopement, from the tender moments shared between us to the breathtaking vistas of Big Sur. Flora’s keen eye for detail and her ability to capture the raw emotions that unfolded during the day were truly remarkable. It was as if she had transformed our love story into a visual masterpiece. Many of those who have seen our photos have made comments about them looking as if they came straight out of the cover of a romance novel. There are no words to describe just how we felt reminiscing our elopement. Tears of gratitude, joy, and love have often been shed looking back on that November day. Thank you, Flora, for immortalizing our love story. You are a true artist, and we are eternally grateful for the memories that we will forever embrace!

HI! I am Anastasia (she/her), your Northern California elopement and wedding photographer and so much more. My passion for photography began when I was a child. It started as a hobby when I fell in love with photographing families and babies. Over the years I realized I adore documenting couples, in all stages of their relationships. I know they say we should specialize in one type of photography, but I am not sure I can ever do that. I love to create and I get bored with only doing one thing.

Anastasia was simply amazing to work with. She values her customers and she absolutely takes pride in her work. Anastasia was communicative with us from beginning to end and we valued Anastasia’s honest and knowledgable feedback about our venues (we ultimately dodged a bullet with our first selected venue). We were highly impressed that she provided us our sample gallery in record time! And we received our full gallery in the promised timeframe. We hope to do a couples session with her when we return the Monterey area!

Heather was lovely to work with. She had tons of ideas which made things way easier for me and less to worry about! She shot our engagement pictures on the east coast & our destination wedding in Spain. For the engagement shoot, it started to rain and turned for the worse! I figured the day was over and that was it, but Heather got creative, pulled out a fun umbrella and we had a great time!! The pictures are super fun and amazing to look back on now that we are married. The wedding pictures were just as fun-- Weddings are known to be high-stress but Heather was on top of things made life so much easier. She knew which pictures to take and when I would forget about certain group combinations with our families she would remember and get the shots! Not to mention she is just a super nice person so I felt comfortable making requests or asking for certain things. I also love the edits she did and really made the images stand out. I really can't recommend enough for every couple to book Seeking Venture for their wedding!

Sarah Rittenour Photography

I've never been much for tradition, so you can imagine weddings were never really my "thing" when I first picked up a camera. Luckily, I found that the wedding industry has been evolving away from the old cookie-cutter format and that is what keeps me doing what I do. My favorite weddings are the ones where you & your partner's personalities show throughout the day rather than getting lost in all the things you "have" to do. I love being part of a day filled with so much love & excitement and what I aim to do is find you in all of it. Because weddings aren't about fitting into a mold anymore - they're about you getting to celebrate your love.

In our search for a wedding photographer, Sarah's artistic style caught my eye right away. She offers a blended service of candid and semi-posed photographs which matched how we hoped to capture our wedding day moments. From our first phone call and in-person consultation, Sarah put us at ease. She helped organize our style preferences and 'must-capture' moments as we planned for the wedding. Her questionnaire helped bring focus in the planning phase and on the wedding day, we knew we were in good hands. I highly recommend Sarah's services, she has an eye for the little details you want to remember and she was discrete during the ceremony and reception while snapping candids (which I appreciated as someone who gets nervous in front of a camera!). We are so pleased with our photos and had a great time working together with Sarah.

Hiring Eivan’s for our wedding was a great decision! Our photographer Gregory I was professional and FUN! He kept us smiling throughout the day with his quirky personality! My fiancé does not care for photos so I’m happy we had someone working with us who could make him comfortable. He made sure to get multiple images even if it was just “one more”, it was never one more! We had actually hired a different photographer and we replaced him with this company. Worth the stress and money! If I had any tips for the company, it would be to have your photographers give a 30 minute warning before their contracted time is up. Weddings are so busy for the bride and groom, it is very easy to lose track of time. I think clients would appreciate a little heads up just so they can try and capture any photos they may have missed. Other than that, I have ZERO complaints. Such an amazing experience! 10/10 highly recommend :)

Hi, I'm Sophia, a 26-year-old wedding photographer based just outside DC in NoVA. Capturing love stories through my lens is not just a job but a profound joy that I cherish with every wedding I photograph. It's been six years and I've photographed close to 100 weddings which seems unreal! The photography gene runs in my family, my great-grandfather had his own photography studio in Panama and from there, knowledge of photography was passed down through the generations of my family to me. I believe in always having fun and prioritizing an stress-free lifestyle which translates into my photography style — vibrant, authentic, and joyful.

Dani and I have known each other for 15 years, which is wild within itself. I’ve watched her photography journey for a long long time. Which is why the second we got engaged I KNEW we would hire her. We had an engagement shoot, as well as an “our day” vow shoot. Let me tell you, my husband and I are very much “guide us and we’ll follow” people. We’re indecisive, we’re go with the flow people, and that’s not always easy to work with. Dani from day one has guided us and taken care of EVERYTHING. From giving us options/ideas and brainstorming, to nailing the plans in place once we decided what we wanted to do. We had our vow day shoot in the Dolomites in Italy. Sebastian and I have never traveled like that together and Dani literally planned everything including what hike we were taking and timelined everything out. Which is exactly what we explained we needed and were looking for when working with her. She took everything we wanted and what we explained we wanted each experience to be like, and she nailed it. Nailed the photos. Nailed the locations. Nailed being an all around fantastic and easy person to work with. She also stayed in contact with us throughout the entire 2 years we have been planning together. She was our cheerleader, our planner, our listening ear, without a doubt I would recommend her to everyone and anyone. Not to mention these photos are to die for, and everyone is obsessed!

We are incredibly grateful Xenia was our engagement/wedding photographer and couldn't be happier with the results! The photos will speak to her technical talent; her professionalism and dedication to her craft are evident in every shot. It was so hard for me to only select 6 photos. What the images don't explicitly show is that Xenia was an absolute joy to work with. She is clear, transparent, and helpful in her communication. Her straightforward and friendly communication ensured we were always on the same page and felt supported throughout the process. While shooting, she is organized and efficient. We got every shot we hoped for and then some. Her enthusiasm and joy were infectious. She made these two awkward nerds feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. We cannot recommend Xenia enough! We will cherish the photos you took forever!

My wedding was in May and the weather surprised us by dumping buckets of rain during the ceremony. Thomas was so helpful with all of his direction and suggestions for the ceremony. He was able to keep his cool and roll with the punches on our very crazy day. Our Photos are absolutely stunning! I honestly can't say enough good things about him. He took so many photos and his editing is wonderful. He also did our engagement photos all the way in Yosemite. He not only drove 3 hours one way for the engagement shoot but also drove an obscene amount of hours for our wedding. He put in so much work and I can't thank him enough.

No matter who you are or where you came from, everyone has a story, and stories were meant to be told. I tell stories through photography. Weddings are incredibly meaningful and intimate. Jonathan did an amazing job with our photos. The whole experience from a meeting before to consult about how we wanted the day to go, to easy to follow direction and advice on how to get the best possible pictures on the day. Jonathan is competent and quick but also laid back and helped us take the stress off what is already a very stressful day. And then the photos turned out truly special. Even on an overcast day he was able to create some beautiful photos that will last a lifetime for us. He had ideas for poses and framing but also gave us space to do what felt natural. We would LOVE to work with him again. Cannot recommend him enough

HOME STATES: California & Massachusetts/New England Hey! Justina here. You'll probably find me at your local thrift shop with my iced coffee in the dead of winter listening to gospel or rnb music in my ear while shopping for records and broken cameras. When i find spare time i play apex legends or attend creative events. my guilty pleasure is reality tv and unsolved crime documentaries.

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot say enough about Justina—she helped our wedding day run seamlessly! From the start, she was incredibly helpful and communicative, working closely with us to construct the perfect wedding day timeline. She even provided a detailed wedding guidebook and questionnaire, which helped us envision the exact vibe we wanted. On the big day, when we inevitably fell behind schedule, Justina handled it with such grace and adapted quickly. She adjusted effortlessly, stayed flexible, and kept everything moving. Even with less time for photos, she still managed to capture all the shots we had requested. Justina’s collaboration with her brother Anthony, who did our videography, was another highlight. Instead of coordinating between two separate vendors, we were able to meet with both of them together, ensuring that our wedding day vibe was beautifully reflected in both the photos and video. They both were extremely professional and helpful, in addition to providing creative ideas that helped bring our vision to life. What truly sets Justina apart is her talent and eye for candid shots that look and feel so natural. You can tell she cares deeply about the quality of her work. She got us a preview album within a week of the wedding, and my husband and I were so moved by the photos. We still cannot stop looking through them! If you want someone who will make your wedding photo dreams come true and help you feel comfortable and taken care of on our wedding day, look no further than Justina. We couldn’t be happier with our choice!

I'm a digital and film Wedding Photographer in Los Angeles, CA. I'm trilingual and multicultural -- and it's my favorite thing about me. I will travel Southern California for your love story, from San Diego to LA, to Santa Barbara. My style is documentary and photojournalistic with a bit of an editorial and creative charm. I do not bend and sway with the trends of the current day, instead I focus on your unique wedding day to capture timeless imagery. As the moments unfold before me, I will help tell your story. I want you to look back on your images and be able to still feel the emotions within them for decades to come, truly.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were originally drawn to Fatima's work because of how honestly and naturally she captured her clients' love—and we were absolutely blown away when we worked with her! It was clear from our engagement shoot and throughout our whole wedding day that Fatima puts so much care into making her subjects feel comfortable and completely themselves. Fatima made the entire planning process easy and stress-free, and she brought so many glimmers of wisdom to her support as we were planning. She was such a welcome energy on our wedding day—our guests still talk about how sweet she is! Fatima's photography style is stunning, from digital to film to polaroids. She was able to capture our love and our community's love so fully. Fatima's photos are like heirlooms - we now have endless photos that we are absolutely in love with!

This is delightfully different elopement + wedding photography! From helicopter elopements and lakeside wedding bashes to hiking engagements to weddings with bouncy houses, I capture the adventurous, quirky, and unique. Based in both New York + California, with travel worldwide, I've photographed couples on 6 continents. My creative, fun, & candid photography uses innovative techniques and unique ideas to get photos that make you look twice. Whether you're saying vows in your backyard or having a 3-day adventure wedding in the rainforest, I'll catch every spontaneous moment of joy and laughter—and plan a few unique shots on top of it all.

Awarded Best of Zola
We cannot recommend Kathryn enough! First (and most obvious) (and also most important) point is that the photos she took were incredible. She captured our night beautifully. More than that though, she captured how the night felt. The photos weren't overly posy, but rather showed off how much fun and excitement there was for the entire night. I think one of the best things I can say about Kathryn is that she really made a point of figuring out HOW we wanted her to photograph the wedding and delivered. As I wrote above, we wanted the photographs to look great, but mostly just capture how the wedding felt and she delivered on that 100%. Also, as much as she made sure we were leading all the decision making, she really knew her stuff and took things off of our plate where we could. We knew how we wanted the photos to look generally, but neither of us are photographers. So we talked to her about style and vibe and she really took it from there. She was an absolute professional, a great person to work with, and kind and caring. We felt like we were in great hands every step of the way. Truly cannot recommend her enough.

Jess is a wedding photographer serving couples from Los Angeles to New York City. She specializes in documenting moments with honesty and optimism to showcase her couples’ love for each other, love for their people and their love for a damn good time. “My work is bold, enduring, and honest.” With more than a decade of experience as a photographer and a background in fine art and film photography, Jess approaches each wedding with intention and a sense of novelty. She works in both digital and film mediums and her work has been featured in publications including Martha Stewart Weddings, Destination I Do and Brides.

Awarded Best of Zola
Since receiving our wedding photos from Jess, several of my friends and family members (including 2 professional photographers!) have asked me for her contact info because of how amazing her photos are!! When we started looking for a wedding photographer, we knew that we needed to find someone with a great eye for candids, who wouldn't make our pictures feel too staged, who had a fun/funky vibe like us, and who could handle wrangling my extremely large family (full of very opinionated people) for family photos, and Jess handled everything with ease! I feel so lucky that we found Jess, and I cannot recommend her more. Jess made everyone feel comfortable throughout the entire wedding day, and even gave guidance to family members who are normally awkward in photos (e.g. suggesting ways to pose to make them more comfortable). Jess went above and beyond throughout the entire planning process, checking in with us, getting to know us, and even coming to a venue walkthrough so she could get a sense of the space! I am so grateful for all of the work Jess put into our wedding, and the photos turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I rarely even like photos of myself, but I honestly am so in love with the ones that Jess took that I jump on every opportunity to whip out my phone and share them with friends!

Working with J. Roman was a dream! We won an engagement shoot with J and quickly knew we wanted him as our wedding photographer after an engagement shoot that was so fun! He delivered hundreds of photos that we loved. His range is amazing; from moody and dark, to vintage and chic, to glam and bright, all the versions of photography you crave for your big day, J covers! We were open to J's eye when it came to moments and he worked seamlessly on our big day--him or his team never felt intrusive to a special moment. The raw emotion of the wedding day was captured so beautifully-we get to relive such a momentous day over and over through his art. He was incredibly professional, was very easy to work with and was so helpful in planning. J has delivered amazing results: 2500 photos for our wedding, which we received in exactly 3 weeks. We received the first short video within 4 weeks of the wedding as well for his photography and videography package. So grateful that we booked with J Roman and would recommend his over and over again!
