Our wedding DJ was Sean Markland and he was just phenomenal to work with. Prior to our wedding we had a lengthy call with Sean; my husband and I were very picky with our wedding playlist and had a rule of absolutely no traditional wedding reception songs or line-dances. We love electronic dance music (EDM) and wanted our wedding to be "festival/show vibes". We pretty much curated our own playlist of EDM, country, hip-hop, folk and I really wasn't sure how our guests would respond (and we really didn't care because it was our wedding), but the way Sean mixed and transitioned the songs and hyped up the dance floor kept the vibes going all night! We used Summit Events for our up lighting too - highly recommend as it was a great way to turn the room from a classy dinner reception to a dance party in one click! The sound quality was great for both speeches and music; we wanted to make sure guests could hear speeches clearly and we had no issues at all even though it was a large room. I also appreciated the Vibo app that we used to plan out our ceremony, entrances, first dances and our playlist for the night - it was a great tool that kept songs and notes in one place. “We are so glad we chose Maurice (The Covenant Child DJ) for our wedding. Maurice responded very quickly to our initial inquiry on wedding wire and after our first call we knew it was a good fit. Maurice was very helpful in planning our music and the timing for our wedding. He sent us a link to an application that he uses (called Vibo) that allowed us to input our song choices for different parts of the wedding (processional, recessional, cocktail hour, first dance, dinner music, dance music, etc.). This was incredibly helpful because the app lets you search songs from Youtube, Spotify, and Apple Music and upload it there. We are a couple from mixed backgrounds so having this was super helpful to include music that both of our families could enjoy and have a solid set of songs. We chose about 30 songs and let Maurice fill in the rest, and he did an absolutely amazing job filling out the playlist and choosing songs that got the guests dancing. He even did some research on Malagasy songs and included them at different parts of the wedding. He even did a custom mix for us for our first dance! Maurice also helped out by suggesting timing for the different elements of the ceremony and reception. Maurice was very generous with his time during planning and really went above and beyond to help us plan the day. On wedding day, Maurice was great. He was an active, lively DJ and was very helpful with announcements, keeping us on schedule, and getting the guests involved in the wedding. He led us through some different games, and played a perfect set of music. Maurice did a great job reading the crowd and playing the hits that got different groups dancing. Toward the end of the night he played hit after hit and had us and our friends dancing... we didn't want to leave the dance floor!!
