At some point between the engagement session and wedding, Ashley called us and told us that a conflict with our wedding date came up and that she needed to be out of state that day. Their communication from the very beginning was fantastic and it never faltered. They sent us a questionnaire to fill out that ended up being incredibly helpful with some wedding planning details we hadn’t even thought of yet. The day of they were on time and ready to go! They immediately got started with videoing details as we got ready. They were kind and accommodating all day. After, they continued their great communication and updated us often on where they were with the editing process. They provided multiple videos within the contracted time frame. Now…on to the quality of the finished products. AMAZING! We received a teaser video of a few seconds and it made us so excited for what was to come! After that was our highlight video. Watching that had us smiling from ear to ear as we remembered our day and saw things we didn’t see the day of. It was absolutely beautifully edited. We shared it with our friends and family on Facebook and everyone loved it as well. We also received our full ceremony, which I have watched probably 100 times since then. They captured every word, every emotion. Another video was our reception video. It included our entrance, cake cutting, speeches and dances. We love rewatching that and hearing the words spoken and laughing at our not so perfect dancing. Finally, we received an extended highlight video with some messages from family at the end. We loved it and having those moments captured! We are forever thankful that we found Alex and Anastasiia, we consider them friends now! We will always have these beautiful videos as a memory of how perfect our day was and how obvious our love for each other is. “Madalyn was probably the best photographer we could have asked for, it was like having a friend instead of a vendor throughout the day. She just does a great job of capturing candid and genuine emotion, and after getting all of our photos back we loved how she was able to capture us (and pretty much everyone else) looking great and having fun without being overly posed. In addition, she was so incredibly organized and professional throughout the entire process, she got us our timeline and I was able to use that to build the rest of our day-of-schedule around it. She communicated early and often and always made sure she got the list of required photos we wanted so we didn’t miss anything. Since she also hadn’t photographed at our venue before, she set up her own meeting with the venue before the wedding to get a tour and walk-through so it wasn’t a surprise on the day of the wedding. She was assertive when she needed to be to wrangle our families for photos but otherwise was extremely flexible in getting shots if the plans changed! Especially since our wedding was late in the winter and we decided against a first look, she made sure to have a lighting assistant on hand to help coordinate additional flash and we got some great evening photos, and the second shooter who helped out had some awesome ideas for important shots too. Also, she got us engagement photo sneak peeks within 24 hours and got us our wedding sneak peeks (40+ photos!) within 48 hours of our wedding. She just made the entire planning experience and photo sessions so comfortable and fun.”

I've been photographing weddings full time since 2011. When I'm not chasing after wedding parties, my husband and I live to travel. We're avid scuba divers, love exploring, and get overly excited when we find a new brewery or speakeasy. We met at the University of Michigan and we stayed in Ann Arbor because it felt too much like home to leave.
