A Lily Among Thorns

5.0

  • Starts at $10,000
  • Serves Stottville, NY

A Lily Among Thorns is a floral design studio in Northern New Jersey. Isabel’s love for flowers stemmed from a young age, as she was often found picking wild flowers barefoot. After receiving her bachelor's degree in English Language Arts, her second love, she found that there was even more poetry to be found in the flowers she had always loved. Now, she works in wedding and event floral design with a limited amount of couples a year.

Loved working with Isabel. She had great suggestions for us when we came in with a vague vision, and stayed super-flexible and kind through every stage of the planning and execution, even helping fashion a last-minute unplanned corsage just before the aisle walk. She helped connect us with a flower recycling service as well, in response to my wish for a sustainable event. The end result was lovely. Couldn't have asked for better than Isabel!

VDL Brothers

5.0

Rhinebeck, NY
  • Starts at $3,500

VDL Brothers began as a farm with a single grower dreaming of providing locally grown, beautiful flowers. Now, we are bringing the produce of that farm to couples who are looking for fresh florals designed with a romantic, whimsical touch. We love to create soft, flowing bouquets, nature inspired arches, creative statement pieces and installations. We give each of our couples a high level of attention to detail, and dedicate our time to two events per month.

My wedding was last month and I am so BEYOND happy I chose VDL Brothers as my florist. Sonja is not only extremely talented but also attentive, reliable, supportive, and consistently went above and beyond to make my wedding flowers and decor special and personalized. My bouquet made me cry (happy tears) when I saw it. As did the boutonnières, wedding party flowers, and decor. Each bridesmaid bouquet, boutonniere and bud vase was unique and intricately done. She really listens to what you want and makes it a reality. During the early planning process she made a personalized event plan complete with my and her own inspiration pics, and kept it updated whenever I needed to make a change. Perhaps the highlight was the Bud Vase wall that she constructed from scratch for my seating chart. It was beyond what you see on Instagram and Pinterest. She also provided a chuppah which was more sturdy and beautiful than any I found elsewhere, and was hands on with managing the set up and take down of all the decor. I was worried about “spending so much on flowers” but honestly the flowers/decor/experience working with her was easily one of my favorite parts of my wedding, and worth every penny and then some. Her pricing is a steal for what you get with her.

Flora Good Times

5.0

Beacon, NY
  • Starts at $7,500

**The best way to reach us is directly through our website! We do not use Zola's booking system** Flora Good Times is a studio with play and celebration at its core. Flowers are a powerful medium for setting a mood and telling a story. We are driven to elevate your event with flowers and feeling. Our focus is to provide your celebration with the joy and bounty that only flowers can bring.

Corinne (owner and founder of Flora Good Times) took on the flowers for our wedding just as her business was getting off the ground, but you would never know it. Her professionalism, sophistication, and creativity is unmatched. The vision board she created after our first phone call captured the spirit of our style better than my partner and I had articulated, and influenced other design decisions made. When we visited the venue together, she took my abstract thoughts (e.g. I'm thinking purple tablecloths) and brought them to life (e.g. the purple tablecloths work paired with turquoise ones and the right flowers... it sounds crazy, but it was GORGEOUS). The arrangements she created brought the whole event to the next level. We've never seen anything like them at a wedding or any event, and people are still talking about them two years later. Because of our experience with Flora Good Times, our advice to couples getting married is not to cut corners on the flower budget. We can't recommend this amazing team highly enough.

TK Floral Designs LLC

5.0

Modena, NY
  • Starts at $10,000

I am Tyler Keeno, the Head Designer of TK Floral Designs LLC. I run this wonderful company with my partner Randy Nogueira, and have been involved in this industry for 6 years now. I cannot picture life doing anything but designing beautiful wedding flowers! My love story with flowers is very simple - sometimes it just happens that way in our lives. There is nothing more meaningful, fulfilling, or rewarding in this life than bringing beautiful floral art to a wedding to transform that special day. I can’t wait to begin this journey with you.

I don't even know where to begin!! From start to finish, working with TK Floral for our wedding day was an absolute pleasure. At the beginning of wedding planning, I had a vision; romantic, enchanted, fairytale, but I couldn't put my vision together. After speaking to Tyler for the first time, he completely understood my thoughts and listened to every detail. He made me feel so comfortable and I trusted his vision. I was thrilled to see his initial proposal and all of the different ideas he had come up with after a 15 minute consultation call. Throughout the wedding planning process, whenever I called with a different idea, Tyler was all ears and ready to build something new. The day of our wedding was absolutely flawless, our guests still rave over how stunning our flowers were. The night truly looked like we were dancing through an enchanted fairytale. Working with Tyler and Randy was a dream, 5 stars isn't a high enough rating to match how incredible they are!

Fountainhead Floral Design

5.0

Milford, CT
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Stottville, NY
  • Offer

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

When I first saw my wedding bouquet I was speechless! It was nothing like any other bouquet I had seen in the absolute best way! The flowers were gorgeous, vibrant, and truly unique, just like I wanted! Kate has such a keen ability to take inspiration photos, run with them, and create something incredibly gorgeous and in line with my vision. The florals she designed brought a lovely pop of color to our reception and pulled the natural look from the landscape into the space exactly like I envisioned. From little details like "snap-bracelet" corsages for the moms to a color-coordinating ribbon on the boutonnieres, Kate totally knocked it out of the park!

First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.

Fairy Meadow Flowers

5.0

Hamden, CT
  • Starts at $4,500
  • Serves Stottville, NY

My name is Isabelle, and I grow chemical free, regenerative flowers and herbs on 3/4 of an acre in Hamden, CT. I truly love working on these blooms from start to finish, and I hope to get to share some of the beauty with you on your special day.

Awarded Best of Zola
There are many florists out there, but how many of them offer flowers they've grown themselves, right from the earth? If you want something super traditional, like a sphere of roses, Isabelle may not be for you. But if you like wildflowers, want to work with a super cool person, and collaborate not only with your vendor, but with the earth itself - this is who you want to work with! Everything Isabelle does has meaning and purpose. On my wedding day, they even foraged some goldenrod that was growing right outside our venue, adding it to the bunches of dramatic, colorful dahlias and unique blooms I don't even know the names of. It was meaningful, gorgeous, and creative. All of the arrangements they made came out came out stunning. Each one was a little different, but everything went together perfectly. I could not pick a favorite. Isabelle was also willing to take on so many little details I hadn't thought of. They provided a really lovely floral cake topper, and put little flowers in each of our guest's napkins. They also have opinions, and will share them when asked- something I like in vendors, who I feel often have the best instincts for what works well. In addition, their prices are incredibly reasonable, especially when you consider how special their work is. In a world of refrigerated carnations...be a wild goldenrod, plucked at golden hour, by a true artist :) Cannot recommend Fairy Meadow Flowers enough!

Andy is THE most passionate about florals—you won’t be disappointed about your flowers on your big day! He took our wedding vibe to a whole new level. From our first chat, we both knew that we didn’t really have any knowledge in what we were doing, but Andy was so patient with us and explained all we needed to know. Every bouquet and centerpiece was stunning – he totally nailed the color and the look that we were hoping for. Our venue looked like it came straight out of Pinterest. During a few of our meetings, Andy has always been such a pleasure to chat with—we just knew we were on the same page about our vision. An added bonus was meeting Andy’s dog, Charlie! Andy’s dedication to his art is on another level, and he added that extra pop of magic to our day. If you're after a florist who turns flower dreams into reality, Andy is your best bet!

Boom & Bloom Floral Design

5.0

Middleburgh, NY
  • Starts at $7,500
  • Serves Stottville, NY

Having spent decades in the trenches of the floral design and event production industries working beside renowned NYC and Southern California designers, Eliza Rose has brought her unique style to her own botanical studio, Boom & Bloom Floral Design. Eliza's signature style blends the timeless, decadent allure of the Dutch Masters paintings with the ephemeral beauty of nature. Embracing the Dutch tradition of capturing the essence of each season, Eliza utilizes native grown and foraged flowers from her property in the Great Northern Catskills as well as supporting local farms by sourcing blooms from their sustainably grown, seasonal crops.

We couldn't have asked for a better design team for our wedding. Planning a wedding remotely from So. Cal. when the wedding was going to be outdoors in the Northeast was difficult without friends or family close by and Liza and her team really made the day so customized, special and significantly more accessible in creating what we had dreamed the day could be. It was a great representation of the style Anderson and I have as a couple and they even added in some memory pieces from our families that helped integrate them into the wedding. We loved the the floral items were sourced locally (and partially from our own hometowns!). The sustainability story is what sold us on the B&B team initially and we only grew more grateful when we saw the incredible design. Thanks Boom and Bloom!

Creek Water Blooms

5.0

Clarksville, NY
  • Serves Stottville, NY

Creek Water Blooms specializes in fully customized wood flower floristry. All arrangements are made with soft realistic wood flowers and faux/preserved fillers to create floral arrangements that can you can enjoy forever. Every flower is handmade, painted and arranged to ensure your wedding flowers are exactly what you envisioned! There’s no waste from throwing away dead flowers and the wood flowers are made from an eco friendly material. Wood flowers also prevent allergy issues, scent sensitivity and wilting. They’re the perfect way to enjoy your flowers on your wedding day and every day after.

When I was looking for a florist, I didn’t want to spend too much because I thought it wasn’t worth it to spend so much money on flowers for one day. Then I stumbled on creek water blooms! The price was great and better yet I get to keep my flowers! Jessica did such a great job making exactly what I envisioned. I even felt like the florals she made were even better than I had imagined! We got my bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. Looking back, I honestly would have gotten more pieces. When I began planning, flowers were the part I cared about the least. Once I started talking with Jessica and saw her proposal and what she ended up making - it truly became one of the pieces of the wedding day I was most excited about! She was great to work with, its obvious that she puts a lot of thought and pride into her work, she made sure to include me in decisions along the way to make sure that they came out exactly how I wanted! The flowers were so gorgeous and looked so real! The also were pretty sturdy and help up really nicely. Now we have them displayed in our house and they look stunning! Absolutely recommend!!

Working with Naomi for our wedding florals was a DREAM and an exceptional experience from start to finish. We cannot recommend her and her team at Nectar and Vessel highly enough to other couples getting married. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Naomi and her team and giving her complete creative freedom. She took that freedom, and spun floral magic into the most beautifully designed space we have ever seen. Her love for florals, and for creating beautiful moments for others shines in her work - and isn’t that what you want on your wedding day? To be surrounded by love through flowers that all your guests can feel? That’s the magic Naomi brings to weddings that is impossible to replicate. The floral designs and artistry that Naomi and her team created for our day were simply stunning. Beyond being beautiful, they were unique and felt personal to us. It was the talk of the wedding that none of the guests had ever seen a display like the florals at our wedding, and that each tablescape and design felt like a work of art. A few things additional things about working with N&V we’d like to highlight: Design and vision: Naomi not only executed a vision for our wedding florals and design, she shaped it from the very beginning. The proposal powerpoint was a detailed mood board of not only the florals, but the overall vibe and design for the wedding. For the bride or groom, like me, who was overwhelmed with how to make a wedding feel cohesive, personal, and intentionally designed, trust in Naomi to help jump start that process and hire her as one of your early vendors. Flawless logistics and professionalism: Working with N&V was completely stress free because Naomi and her team are true professionals. She was respectful of our budget, had a clear, well-structured contract, and payment through her professional portal was incredibly easy. Everything was delivered, set-up, and cleaned up flawlessly and on-time. Importantly, if there were any issues day-of, we didn’t hear about it or take on any of that stress (though with her careful planning, I bet there weren’t any fires to put out!) While these sound like boring logistics, all of this professional preparation on N&V’s part saved us a ton of time and stress wedding planning. Positivity and good energy: Naomi herself is the warmest and most effusively positive person - that was clear from our very first consultation call with her and was even more true on the day of our wedding. We felt showered in positivity throughout our experience working with her, which is exactly what you want on your big day! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Nectar and Vessel, and specifically, Naomi and her wonderful team. Hire her early, trust her to work her magic and give her all the creative control, and then watch your wedding venue transform.
