Krumbs Cakes

5.0

  • Starts at $45
  • Serves San Leandro, CA

"I live for the moment when my customers see their incredible edibles for the very first time. Nothing brings me more joy than watching their faces light up with great big smiles. The extreme satisfaction is what gets me every time. Knowing I make dreams come true is why I love what I do."

Christian’s cakes are delicious! A friend who was married in 2021 recommended Krumbs Cakes to us and I am so glad she did! Christian is so friendly and easy to work with, we loved our tasting and everything he makes is delicious! We went with a small 3-tiered cake in the cactus blossom flavor and a sheet cake in chocolate Kahlua. All of our guests loved the cake and I’m excited to order a mini version for our anniversary in 2024!

I've enjoyed mochi donuts from other businesses but someone told me I had to try Mochata and I'm glad I took their word for it. Best mochi donuts hands down that I've had in a long time! I reached out to Erik to inquire about catering mini mochi donuts for my wedding in March 2024 and his customer service was on a whole other level. He was so personable and friendly that I just wanted to order just because of that (go small businesses go!). I asked if he had samples to try and he gladly made a batch and I ended up ordering 5 dozen mini donuts. Everyone at my wedding LOVED them. So much that I didn't even get to have any myself during reception! What stands out the most about Mochata's donuts is that the flavor is actually IN the donut itself. Not just the icing that we're all used to. And the texture? Exactly the way a mochi should taste. Flavors? ON POINT!! The toppings are very generous, especially the Cookies N Cream and Mint Oreo. My absolute favorites are Coconut Pandan, Ube and Strawberries N Cream and my husband always goes for the Mint Oreo. Now that it's post-wedding, I've been having cravings so I ordered more just for my family and I to enjoy. I haven't tried all the flavors yet but I have no doubt that they all taste delicious. I also recently got myself a Thai Horchata drink. I never thought about combining the two flavors together and it was super good! Now I feel like I need to try every flavor of that as well. Thank you Erik for being able to make my wedding day even more special! Definitely plan to be a regular customer for whenever I have a craving.

Auntie Viv's

5.0

  • Starts at $500
  • Serves San Leandro, CA

Auntie Viv's is an AAPI woman-owned & family operated small business adventure. When we visited Maui for the first time, and I fell in love at “first taste” with my very first Hawaiian shave ice. How I describe this phenomenon: “It literally was like a deliciously flavored, puffy cloud that instantly melted in my mouth & tasted like liquid gold. It was the best epicurean experience ever." I had my sights set on opening my own shave ice business & spending more time with my husband & two young daughters. I found myself being unhappy, working really long hours & it took a toll on my physical & mental health. Auntie Viv's opened Sept. 2017.

I was completely lost on what to do for dessert for my wedding until I stumbled upon Auntie Viv's!! My husband and I went to Hawaii for our first vacation together so having shave ice brought back so many memories. I booked her services only a month before my wedding, communication was prompt and smooth. I was so happy she could accommodate on such late notice. Vivian arrived early and figured out all the logistics of setting up so she could get ready for service which was a detail I missed but she handled it so well. The shave ice was so delicious, my friends and family still tell me about how good the shave ice was to this day! Having Auntie Viv's at my wedding was such a highlight, and I would definitely book her again for events in the future.

Natasha's Treats

5.0

  • Starts at $250
  • Serves San Leandro, CA

Raised in Ukraine, I grew up loving the delectable European cakes my mother would bake from scratch. This experience cultivated my love for sweets and baking, and taught me to appreciate desserts that offer both exceptional flavor and just the right amount of sweetness.

Natasha's Treats was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding cake. From the very first interaction, she was open, responsive, and easy to talk to, making the entire process stress-free. The quality of her work was outstanding - the cakes were not too sweet, but had delicious flavors, and beautifully presented. She even delivered the cake to the venue and ensured it looked perfect. We opted for the Tropical Treat and Very Berry Chocolate flavors, which were both a huge hit with our guests. Natasha's Treats truly contributed to making our special day even more memorable. We highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding!

Highly recommend PQ as a vendor. Her designs are beautiful and minimalist and her desserts taste just as amazing as they look. I’ve ordered from PQ for various occasions and her desserts are always a crowd pleaser. My personal favorites are her Strawberry Shortie cake and Lady Hong entremet.

Sf Candy Bar

5.0

  • Serves San Leandro, CA

When I opened SF Candy Bar in 2012, the business was busy from the start. In 2012, the economy was just coming out of a recession and Silicon Valley started to attract top talent from all over the world. Experiential add on features, like our candy buffets, was fun at office parties, trade shows and holiday parties. Brides and Mitzvahs also found so much joy in our services. Fast forward to more than a decade later, we have added on more services from popcorn buffets, custom packaged party favors, and trail mix buffets. SF Candy Bar is dedicated to providing stunning buffet designs to guests at special events.

SF Candy Bar provided a candy buffet at our wedding, and it was a total hit! The display was vibrant and inviting, with a wide variety of candies that catered to every taste. From nostalgic favorites to gourmet selections, the spread was thoughtfully curated and beautifully arranged. Our guests, both young and old, couldn't get enough of the colorful array of treats. The setup was elegant and perfectly matched our wedding theme, adding a fun and playful touch to our special day. The team was professional, ensuring everything was flawlessly arranged and replenished throughout the evening. SF Candy Bar made our wedding reception extra sweet and memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better candy buffet experience!!

Karlie was very easy to work with. We met with her and then based on our conversation she sketched out ~6 different design ideas and also shared some example photos of different design aspects. The final cake looked exactly like what we had in mind. I remember during the wedding telling my husband that I was surprised they ended up using real flowers instead of sugar flowers. We didn't realize until the next day that they were actually sugar! They looked incredibly realistic and matched the floral decor perfectly. Also - the cake itself was delicious. We had plans to freeze some of it and eat it on our first anniversary, but ended up eating it all. Oops. We received numerous compliments from our guests. Thank you Story Cake Studio!

Palette Cakes

5.0

  • Serves San Leandro, CA

With an art background as a professional painter, Kellie Velasquez attended the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) to hone her baking and pastry skills. After her first year in school, she sought out the opportunity to work with world renowned Cake Designer, Maggie Austin, where she developed her fundamental skills with wedding cakes and design. After completing the prestigious baking and pastry arts degree program at CIA, she held positions at some of San Francisco’s top bakeries, including Craftsman & Wolves, Susie Cakes, and most recently Pastry Chef at the popular Jane on Larkin.

Kellie is not only an incredible baker but a superb artist as well. We first had her cakes at a friends wedding a little over a year before we got married, and knew from the moment, we tasted it that we were going to need her to make our cake as well. The process of working with Kellie was incredibly easy and super fun. She truly cares about all of her clients. She even hand-delivered our cake on our wedding day and stuck around to watch a bit as we took some pictures, it was just a super sweet touch that made the process feel really personal. We can’t wait to have her bake other goodies for big events in our future!

Secret Kitchen SF

5.0

  • Starts at $1

I really love cakes and desserts. Like, I REALLY love them! I have professional training in the tastiest pastry areas: from chocolates to caramels, classic to modern European cakes. The wedding dessert table is the happiest place in the world, and my aim is to provide that for your big day.

I enjoyed my experience with SKSF. If I had to get married again, lol, I would order the same cake. I’m very particular about my desserts especially as I normally hate wedding cakes as most don’t taste good at all. My cake was simply perfect for me and my guests LOVED it. While it was on the smaller side, I only had 31 people at my wedding due to COVID. The cake SKSF created for us was absolutely beautiful and delicious. If you don’t know what European honey cakes taste like, try it! It’s amazing. But it has to be done right! SKSF makes them right!

I started Sammycakes in 2014 with a simple ombré rosette cake. It’s always been a dream and passion of mine to open my own bakery, after being inspired by my mother always baking for special occasions when I was a kid.

Sammycakes made the biggest days of our lives one we’d never forget. She delivered a stunning cake and array of cupcakes that stunned the crowd and tasted delicious. She made it easy to communicate, gave us plenty of options, and delivered our order on time and to perfection. I’ll never forget that cake and how easy it was to work with her. She made it affordable for us as well which I can’t speak enough to. I never buy a cake if it’s not from Sammycakes for my special occasions to this very day. Thanks Sammy!

BANANA CREAM PIE. Theirs is the absolute best and I have had plenty of pies in my life! I usually request this for my birthday and frankly, for any occasion in our family. The sisters who own the business are also the kindest, most accommodating vendors ever! They really will go above and beyond to make sure your experience is incredible. I have recommended their desserts to all of my friends and family, and they all agree---this is one, if not the best pie in the Bay.
