We rented half the upstairs area in Blue Pit for our rehearsal dinner and I have a feeling it won't be the last time we reach out to Blue Pit for an event or catering. Cara, the owner, is wonderful and very accommodating. The space is cute and quirky and doesn't need much decoration for events. The food is DELICIOUS every single time we visit and this was no exception. Our bartender and main point of contact for the night was Brad, who was amazing every step of the way. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Blue Pit every time. You can't go wrong here.

The Baltimore Museum of Art

5.0

Baltimore, MD
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $40,000

The Baltimore Museum of Art is the ideal location for couples wishing to treat their guests to a one-of-a-kind experience. A vibrant and innovative institution, the facility seeks to inspire creativity in its couples by providing an environment that is steeped in history and welcoming to all. A major cultural destination, The Museum’s internationally renowned collection of 95,000 artifacts is sure to keep your guests talking for years to come! Couples have the option of choosing from four unique event spaces: Fox Court, a neoclassical room that features a coffered ceiling supported by elegant Ionic columns and a gorgeous sculptural light installation by contemporary artist Spencer Finch; Antioch Court, a mosaic-filled room that surrounds the museum's Atrium and features floor-to-ceiling windows; the West Lawn, a beautifully landscaped garden that features captivating sculptures; and the Meyerhoff Auditorium, an elegant space that features a stage and portable Marley dance floors.

We had our 100-guest, creative black tie, February wedding at BMA with ceremony and reception in Fox Court and cocktail hour in Antioch Court. We were very impressed with the booking and planning process with Alicia. The rules were quite restrictive, but it's a museum after all and most rules were discussed up front. We found it important to mostly use vendors who have worked at BMA before and are familiar with the rules. Both rooms were breathtaking on the wedding day! We were impressed with the number of staff BMA provided for our wedding day; all being super friendly and helpful. We can't wait to spend our anniversaries visiting the museum in the future.

Everything you could want for your wedding, with solid, experienced professional support from planning to last dance. Your guests can be indoor and outdoors, as they like, enjoying the party! Chase Court comfortably and realistically accommodates a maximum of 125 guests seated for dinner or 150 guests served cocktail-style. We’re equally good at very small weddings (see "Elopements," below). If you value a clear plan, assurance of care, and a professional experience for your wedding (who doesn’t?!), trust me when I say you MUST have your wedding at Chase Court. Invaluable to an anxious bride and type-A personality, David’s expertise constantly put my mind at ease every step of the way. As soon as I arrived to the wedding, David had already handled placements of vendors and other miscellaneous details that he gathered over months of planning and listening to what we wanted for our day. The courtyard was so beautiful that my mind instantly melted into our ceremony and its magical setting. Our guests were so impressed and stunned at the gothic aesthetics of the ballroom as well. Looking back on photos, I know we couldn’t have picked a better place. To put it simply, this venue and David’s experience with wedding events of all types make it the ultimate package. A totally timeless, adaptable, romantic, and UNIQUE place to get married. We will forever remember how perfect our special day was, thanks to Chase Court!

Westminster Hall and Burying Ground

4.5

Baltimore, MD
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $3,000

People travel far and wide to visit historic Westminster Hall, the Burying Grounds and Catacombs. Guests have the opportunity to explore one of Baltimore’s oldest cemeteries which contains tombs of prominent political, military and business leaders, and the grave of Edgar Allan Poe! Westminster Hall, formerly a Presbyterian church has a unique combination of early Gothic Revival appearances, mixed with today’s modern conveniences. The restored Gothic church has elegant stained glass windows, carved oak woodwork and an 1882 Johnson pipe organ. People appreciate Westminster's prime location at the corner of Fayette and Greene Streets in downtown Baltimore. Immediately adjacent are the University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Maryland Medical Center, Maryland Bar Center, and Baltimore VA Medical Center. Within walking distance are Oriole Park, M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore's Inner Harbor, the Convention Center, and major hotels, retailers and businesses.

Overall, we loved our wedding here! We picked this venue in part because it’s so beautiful that the decor we would need to do would be minimal. We were right about that, and there was even some decor provided by the venue in the form of trees with lights. The organ is absolutely beautiful. There is an inside area with a table that’s perfect for cards, seating charts, and a guest book. The layout with upper areas around the organ makes a nice configuration for guest seating. The biggest downside was the bridal getting ready suite is very small and there isn’t a separate area for the groom, so we got ready and took pictures at a nearby hotel. The grounds are also lovely and were great for first look pictures in the graveyard (which is permissible if done tastefully). You can pay an extra 100/hour for the guests to tour the catacombs under the church, which was a nice touch. My other complaint was the technical difficulties — we couldn’t get the microphone at the podium to work so we had to project, and the bass in the music using their auxiliary system kept going in and out. The grounds keeper kept an eye on things for us in terms of crowd control and lighting.

The B&O Railroad Museum fully supports marriage equality, and we welcome all couples to spend their special day with us!

We held our wedding reception at the B&O Railroad Museum and it was a perfect venue for our special day. Kathy, our main contact, was extremely responsive in answering all of our questions during the planning process. The museum was an air conditioned, spacious room that comfortably accommodated our 60 guests. We loved being able to take photos with the historic trains as a backdrop. The B&O staff, especially Kathy, ensured the room was properly set up, clean, and ready for our event. From start to finish, they made the experience nearly flawless. It was a beautiful, family-friendly atmosphere that lent itself well to celebration. I would highly recommend the B&O Railroad Museum as a unique and memorable wedding venue.
