We provide access to the Barn for the reception, the garden for the ceremony, the birch grove for the cocktail hour and dressing areas in the Pruyn House and the Verdoy Schoolhouse. Tables and chairs are included. All else must be provided through rental services and catering. We have one security person who will be on site throughout your event. The West Mountain Inn was originally built as a farmhouse in 1809. From 1880 to 1920, first a gristmill and then a lumber mill were operated on the Battenkill River at the foot of the mountain. In 1904 Ned and Gwendolyn Rochester purchased the 150 acre farm and began to transform it into an elegant summer estate. After a succession of other residents the estate later became an arts and retreat center.

Our historic, nineteenth-century, recently renovated barn is surrounded by natural beauty with picturesque rolling green pastures grazed by Angus cows and Border Leceister sheep, as well as hay fields, and crop and cut flower fields. Our stately barn sits at the top of a hill overlooking the Vloman Kill. Our family has farmed this land in Albany County, NY for over two hundred years and we would like to share this beautiful property with you for your special day.
