Tomi Photopositive

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,100
  • Serves Orland Park, IL for additional fees

Hello, I'm Tomi, a Wedding Photographer with over 500+ weddings under my belt. I live in Broomfield, Colorado with my amazing wife and my dog Teddy. I capture authentic, creative and emotionally driven wedding moments. My photography style has a mixture of unique candid photos combined with some traditionally posed shots, all edited with the more warm and true-to-life color editing style.

Awarded Best of Zola
We booked Tomi Photopositive for our October 2024 wedding in Genesee Park, Colorado, and got exactly what all of his other perfect reviews rave about; Relentless compassion and positivity, regular and professional communication, timeliness in every regard, and of course an amazing collection of photos we get to cherish for the rest of our lives. We struggled to find an affordable photographer for our simple and small wedding. Some quotes came in exorbitantly high. One even wanted us to sign a contract before we could even schedule a virtual meet & greet to see if we'd all vibe. We found Tomi on Wedding wire, and we loved his portfolio (and his pricing almost seemed too good to be true based on his work), so we reached out. We set up a zoom call, and it was clear right away that Tomi loves what he does, and that he cares about his clients. This initial meeting was everything a nervous couple could hope for, it silenced much of the fear of booking someone we knew very little about. Though not included in the wedding photography package, we booked an engagement session with Tomi. I am so glad we did! It was worth every penny! Aside from great photos themselves, it gave us a good feel for how he works ahead of the wedding. Plus, it was fun, and we got some great shots! Tomi will go out of his way for his clients. One example is that he had never been to our venue (Chief Hosa Lodge - if you're looking for a wedding of 35-65 guests) before, so he went to the venue before the wedding to get a feel for all the best spots. He did this on his own time, and did not charge us extra for it. While we had originally hoped for a sunny day and sunset photos overlooking the mountains, we got snow and fog. Tomi seized the opportunity and turned the "disappointing" weather into one of the more memorable aspects of our day. For any couple who is considering not using a photographer, we strongly caution against it. we originally wanted to go that route or was looking for someone cheap (1000). However, finding Tomi was a blessing from God, and his pricing is more than worth it! His photos are eons better than anything you could hope for from an amateur photographer or cell phone grab. And seeing the final polished photos a couple months after the fact is like getting to experience your special day all over again. If you're still reading this, stop and book him. You will not be disappointed.

Marilyn Lamanna Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $6,000
  • Serves Orland Park, IL for additional fees

Hey there! My name is Marilyn. I live in New York City with my sweet partner, and our orange cat Maple. I’m an introverted, soft-hearted mush with an insatiable need to document the beauty in life. Practicing self-portraits in middle school eventually led me to pursue my photography degree from New York University, and I have been joyfully creating photos of wedding days ever since. To me, weddings are a magical display of the human spirit. It’s my biggest honor and joy to create imagery that captures that human magic - especially in a way that breaks the boundaries of historically gendered traditions.

Awarded Best of Zola
Wow WOW!! We are beyond grateful to Marilyn for capturing our joint proposal so beautifully! As a queer couple, we haven’t always had positive experiences feeling fully seen and comfortable during special moments. However, she was truly incredible. From the very start, she made us feel safe, respected, and completely at ease, allowing us to be our true selves. Marilyn's warmth and professionalism ensured that we could fully enjoy the moment, and it shows in the absolutely STUNNING photos she created. Every image reflects the love and joy we felt that day, and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Thank you for preserving these memories so perfectly and making it a lovely experience.

Hi! I’m Christy, owner and lead photographer. I am bilingual (English & Spanish). I have been a photographer for over 11 years, and photographing weddings full time for 8 years. I’d describe my photography style as documentary. We Photograph your day exactly the way it went. Full of emotion, laughter, the movement of you & your guest dancing and having a great time… to even the quiet, peaceful moments. Hire a photographer who will tell your story the way you lived it. (thats me! 🙋🏻‍♀️)

Awarded Best of Zola
Hiring Christy and Alex was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day! From our initial consultation to the final delivery of our photos, they went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Their level of care is UNMATCHED! On the day of the wedding, they were incredibly professional, organized, and calming. They captured every important moment and so many candid, heartfelt ones that we’ll treasure forever. I was looking for a documentary style photographer and they delivered. The photos themselves? Absolutely breathtaking. They perfectly captured the emotion, joy, and beauty of the day. Their style is creative, documentary style, yet timeless and we can’t stop looking through all of the photos. . It feels like we’re reliving our day every time! If you’re looking for photographers who truly care about your vision and deliver outstanding results, we can’t recommend Christy Clark Photography enough. Christy and Alex are a dream team, and we’re so grateful to have had them document our special day!

Justin McCallum Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,200
  • Serves Orland Park, IL for additional fees

Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Awarded Best of Zola
Don’t think you’re photogenic? Worried that folks in your family, wedding party, etc. aren’t photogenic? Justin will MAKE them photogenic. The man is a wizard with the camera, able to capture moments and poses you never imagined possible. The photographer for our wedding was the one thing we knew we would need to splurge on to make sure we felt comfortable and happy on our wedding day. Justin spent so much time working with us on exactly what we wanted while at the same time, truly getting to know us and my god, does it show. Justin was able to capture the true essence of ourselves in our wedding photos, to the point where we started tearing up just looking at them. We cannot recommend this BEAUTIFUL human enough. They are truly the greatest

Arrae Photography

5.0

  • Classic style
  • Starts at $3,400
  • Serves Orland Park, IL for additional fees

My name is Amanda Montgomery and I am Arrae Photography based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The name Arrae (pronounced [uh-rey]) came from my first initial and my middle name, Rae, added an extra r and made a new word. I wanted something unique that was also me, the idea came to mind one day and it just fit. Being a photographer is all I've ever wanted to do with my life. When I was 12 I saved up my babysitting money to buy my first 'big time' camera. I formed Arrae Photography in 2003 as a part-time venture while I worked at local photo labs, went full time in 2008.

Awarded Best of Zola
Amanda and her partner did an AMAZING job capturing our August 2024 wedding. My husband and I were blown away when we saw our gallery. She is a joy to work with and I highly recommend Arrae Photography to any couple.

Beck Photo Co.

Awarded Best of Zola
I could not more highly recommend Kristen! Kristen was one of the very first vendors that I booked for my August 2024 wedding and I could not be more happy in that decision. Kristen's style is timeless and true to color. She focuses on capturing the day as it happens rather than focusing only on super posed shots- which I love! Kristen's communication is clear, prompt, and honest- I so appreciated her insight through the wedding planning process and especially in developing the timeline. We also received far more sneak peeks than we expected and I'm still shocked with how quickly we received our full gallery! Kristen, we are so happy you were there to capture our day!

Diana Marie Photography

5.0

  • Editorial style
  • Serves Orland Park, IL for additional fees

Hey there! Since you are trusting me to capture these special moments in your life, I figured you should probably know a bit about me, right? I am a Huntsville, Alabama native, but moved to Nashville after graduating from the University of Alabama in 2013. ROLL TIDE! Although I consider Nashville home, I am anything but a homebody. I love traveling and exploring new places (especially the food at those places!). I even studied abroad in Italy, which let me tell you, was a food lover's dream. I have always felt like an old soul trapped in a millennial’s body. I would rather listen to Frank Sinatra than anything on the radio today.

Awarded Best of Zola
Diana Marie Photography was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding day. From the very beginning, Diana's communication style was open, professional, and timely - she was always checking in to make sure our day was going as we had imagined. The quality of her work is truly exceptional, with a clean, timeless, and emotional style that captured all the special moments beautifully. Diana knows the importance behind wedding photos - they aren't just a social media dump, but rather the memories we'll cherish for years to come. She reminded us to take in the little things, and that thoughtfulness really shines through in the final product. We couldn't recommend Diana Marie Photography enough for any couple looking for a talented, dedicated photographer to document their big day.

Arie T. Photography is a Black, queer, woman-owned wedding and portrait business capturing love stories across the U.S. and beyond. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or a grand celebration somewhere in the world, I’m here to document every moment with authenticity and heart. With a background in fine arts and experience photographing weddings nationwide, I specialize in candid, natural-light photography using an unposed, stress-free approach. Even if you think you’re awkward in front of the camera—challenge accepted! My goal is to help you feel comfortable, confident, and completely yourself.

Awarded Best of Zola
Arie was an incredible presence at our wedding, which was somewhat nontraditional and much more like a party than a wedding. She took our requests and still managed to get elegant pics from our general nonsense. We didn't really have a great vision for what we wanted but thank the heavens Arie knew what to do anyway. The pics are incredible and we've been sharing them so much! She is also fun to have around and didn't add any stress to the day which we LOVED. Can't recommend her enough!

Leah Flores Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,800
  • Serves Orland Park, IL for additional fees

I am a photographer and artist from the Pacific Northwest with Costa Rican and Scottish roots. My favorite things are dinosaurs, exploring new cities, board games, soccer, National Parks, and whiskey. I have been fortunate to photograph 200+ weddings in my PNW home, to ruins in Scotland, cityscapes in Vietnam, to the beaches of Maui, and beyond! I live in Portland, Oregon with my two dogs and three cats | 🏳️‍🌈🦖⛰️✈️📸⚽🫶🏼🌈🌲🦕🏝 Fun Fact: I was born on Leap Year Day so I'm 9 years old 🥳!

Awarded Best of Zola
I could write a book about Leah; or at least a very detailed blog post but I'll try to keep it shorter! As a fellow professional photographer, I got the opportunity to meet Leah and work with her as her 2nd photographer on a wedding. It took that one amazing experience and absolute blast of a time to know that whenever it was I got married she was THE photographer for me. Fast forward some years later it was finally my turn to tie the knot and my now husband and I chose our date based on when Leah was available, because there was no other option for me! I have gotten to work with dozens of photographers throughout my going on 10 year career, and I'm telling y'all, it doesn't get better than Leah. The photos - amazing! I love her eye for details, the crispness, the colors! Not to mention she is such a beautiful soul with the best personality and energy, with the professionalism to get a gallery worth of beautiful photos with you barely realizing she's there. While going through our gallery, I was stunned and overjoyed so many times to see things I had NO idea happened or even photos of people that I unfortunately didn't get to spend much time with yet seeing that they still enjoyed themselves. In my opinion, a photographer is the most important vendor you can choose for your wedding day. I am so thankful my experience in the wedding industry allowed me to cross paths with Leah because that made a really important decision very easy for me. And I hope my review can help other soonlyweds out there make a hard decision easier. You will not go wrong choosing Leah to photograph your big day!

Kendra Smith Weddings was an absolute pleasure to work with on Cody & Jake's wedding day. Kendra's communication style was timely, kind, and calm, which helped put us and the couple at ease throughout the planning process. She did a great job at communicating with us about the plan for the wedding day but was also able to be creative with the photography, even during a very windy ceremony. As a fellow creative, I enjoyed collaborating with Kendra, but appreciated that she could just run with it when it came to the photography. She was so lovely to work with and have around for the full wedding day!

Lulan’s creativity has led to his path beyond most conventional definitions. He has won 25+ wedding photography awards, named the Best Wedding Photographer in Los Angeles; while acquired advance degree in immunology and medicine from UCLA.

Awarded Best of Zola
We found Lulan Studios about nine months before our wedding day. We were immediately drawn in by their professionalism and their reputation. Lulan is an inclusive photographer who was very receptive to our wedding vision. He and his team were incredibly kind, supportive, and helpful all throughout the process. We elected to go with Lulan Wang himself for our photographer who worked with an associate. After our initial consultation we were turned over to Shannon who was our go to contact for day to day clarifications and vendor contact until Lulan took over just before the wedding. Shannon was immensely resourceful and responsive. She communicated with our coordinator very efficiently and was always on top of our booking. We are very grateful to her as well for making the process so easy and for continuing that communication after the fact. On the day, Lulan and his associate were spectacular. It was clear his associate had more than enough talent for the job just like Lulan, but they divided and concurred by using two different types of cameras for different types of shots. We regret not doing an engagement session with them, but we will likely return for an Anniversary session in the future. We didn’t even need one though, because he is skilled enough that he understood us as a couple immediately. They made us feel comfortable and confident. They hyped us up and moved through the shot list masterfully. Nothing was missed and we captured far more than we expected. Please look through our attached photos as they speak for themselves. One of the most exciting moments was when Lulan handed us a little blue book filled with about fifteen physically printed preview photos DURING THE RECEPTION. A lovely surprise that absolutely shocked me. Turnover was 4-6 weeks and we got ours just before the six week mark right on schedule. We were floored. They are jaw-dropping. We ultimately got 950 photos permanently digitally available for high resolution download and access to a shop with impressive options for prints and albums of a wide array of types and sizes. I’m thrilled to show them to you here and implore you to consider booking Lulan Studios. We trusted in their ability from the beginning and we were not disappointed. They are among if not the absolute best in the business.

Living my best life in suburban Maryland. I love art and being creative, so photography just seemed like the next step after being an actor for 15 years. Storytelling is a HUGE part of my life- whether it’s sitting around the dinner table recounting funny memories or looking at old photographs of my own family. Some of the best stories in the world were told without words. I am a D&D, gaming, and SQL nerd, I have a newfound love of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and I am a proud plant mom. Never been married before? I'm here to hold your hand.

Laura was absolutely amazing to work with. We got in touch with her a little less than a month before our wedding and didn't meet her until the day of (because we live out of state). None of that was a problem though, because she knows what she is doing and coordinates and communicates everything very well. She truly is an excellent photographer who is flexible and wants to do what she can to help make your day go as smoothly as possible. Plus, she is so nice, and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. You can definitely expect your photos within the timeframe she provides. 7 months later, we still get compliments on her photos.

Margarita was an absolute pleasure to work with for the surprise engagement I planned while traveling with my fiancé and her family. She was able to help me plan everything within a couple of days time and responded quickly to my inquiry I made through her website. The quality of their work and value was truly outstanding, with natural, affordable, and stunning photos that captured our special day perfectly. Margarita traveled all the way from Baltimore and arrived early to scout the area and help me plan the surprise. We can't wait to have her shoot our wedding and would highly recommend her services to any couple looking for an amazing photography experience.

MA & CA Your wedding isn’t just a sequence of events—it’s a mix of energy, quiet pauses, and the moments in between that hold the most meaning. You want a photographer who sees the unscripted, the unfiltered, and the unexpected—the things that make your day yours. I work with couples who value nostalgia, emotion, and a little edge in their wedding story. The ones who want their photos to feel like them—unposed, unforced, and unrepeatable. Whether it’s the weight of a glance, the rush of the dance floor, or the way your hands find each other in the middle of it all, every image is a keepsake of your story—without trends, AI edits, or formulas

Awarded Best of Zola
From our first conversation, Justina demonstrated a professional, personal, and friendly communication style that put us at ease. Her positive energy, timely responses, and focus on details throughout the planning process was greatly appreciated. We loved Justina's artistic and unique approach to capturing cinematic and unique moments that truly reflected our vision. When an unexpected situation required a substitute photographer, Justina quickly found a great alternate photographer, shared every details for a smooth transition, and still completed all processing and editing. This led to us receiving a stunning gallery of photos. We couldn't have asked for a more communicative and valuable photography team to be a support our special day!

Gabbie Burseth Photo

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $7,200
  • Serves Orland Park, IL for additional fees

Gabbie Burseth grew up documenting everything and saving mementos in empty Christmas boxes. After studying at the Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia, she discovered an affinity for weddings and their accompanying treasures. Her philosophy as a wedding photographer is to observe with as little interference as possible — no faking it, no do-overs, no “for the camera”. Her biggest desire is for couples to be present at their wedding, not stuck in a photoshoot. Her work is punctuated by rich and vibrant color, the timeless quality of analog film, and a sense of humor found in fleeting moments.

Awarded Best of Zola
The professionalism, raw talent, and sweet demeanor are only a few of the exquisite gifts Gabbie offers. If you are looking for a photographer who is the complete package, look no further. When selecting wedding vendors, every blog post will tell you that choosing your photographer is one of the most important (if not the most important). However, little information is provided after that tidbit, which can be daunting for an excited (albeit overwhelmed) bride who wants every detail of their wedding to be perfect. Sean, my now husband, and I had selected our venue, The 1909 in Topanga Canyon, CA., and our coordinator, Allison, with West Events LA, provided us with a list of her preferred vendors -- insert us coming across Gabbie. I remember going to her website, scrolling through her work, and being enamored with how each photo captured a different emotion and feeling. We both immediately knew that from looking at her work alone, we wanted our photos to look and feel the same. After sending an inquiry and coordinating a call, Gabbie & I spoke on the phone for close to an hour about what we had in mind for our wedding, and I remember it all clicking when Gabbie described her work as "documentary" style. Sean and I knew we didn't want a videographer for our wedding, so Gabbie's techniques and overall vision aligned perfectly with what Sean and I wanted. We also opted to do a round of engagement photos with Gabbie 5 months before our wedding, where she came into our home to take photos of us in our most comfortable and natural state (chasing our dogs around the yard) and then for a shoot at a local winery that we love to go to. Not only did we have such a fun and great experience, but we also felt so comfortable and relaxed with Gabbie. We almost forgot we were there to have our photos taken! We received the gallery back shortly after and were so thrilled. Fast-forward to our wedding, we had hired Gabbie a second shooter for 8 hours. They met us at the venue for the final getting-ready details around 1 pm and stayed through to a good portion of the dance floor, around 9 pm. They arrived promptly and were even extra helpful with Sean when getting his suit on! While those details may seem minor to some, it was that unique care and attention from both Gabbie and her second shooter that made Sean & I, and all of our guests, feel so beautiful and confident to be themselves. When Sean and I got our gallery back, we spent a solid three hours scrolling through every captured moment, laughing, crying, and squealing with excitement. I am not exaggerating when I say that seeing the captured images and how Gabbie so beautifully arranged them in the album was purely magic. Any time we go through the album, we genuinely feel transported back to that day, and there is no doubt in my mind it is because of Gabbie's pure mastery of her craft. As part of her thorough questionnaire, one of the questions was what percentage of digital-to-film prints we would like, and for ours, we chose 50:50. I'm so glad we opted for film, and I almost wish we had had more because these photos are indeed what dreams are made of. The icing on the cake, Gabbie also wrote us an adorable card after the wedding, which included 3 of the film prints. Sean & I will forever be grateful to Gabbie for her work and friendship. We love you!!
