The Emerald Woods is a beautiful historic venue in Western North Carolina hosting weddings, small personal retreats and private gatherings. Imagine getting married surrounded by forest on all sides, deer hidden in the woods and with the backdrop of a historic house that is hidden from view from the rest of the world. Your host, Lilly Bakken, purchased the property in August of 2020 and since then has renovated every room within the house and is now continuing to add to the landscaping with an abundance of flowering trees, hydrangea, dahlias and other perennials. Many outside seating areas have been added to the property, quiet little nooks for conversation and for guests to connect with each other.

This is an incredibly unique space built along the Middle Tyger River at the foot of Glassy Mountain. It features an Open air octagon shaped pavilion, a covered bridge that spans the river, optional lodging for a couple or family, and 35 acres of natural beauty and photo ops to explore.

The Mayes Event Center at Deerwoode Reserve will be open Spring 2024. It is currently being renovated and will have a climate-controlled banquet hall, catering kitchen, bridal suite, restrooms, and a covered open-air pavilion. Deerwoode Reserve is 175 acre nature preserve with cabin accommodations and on-site amenities. Explore the Bamboo Forest, walk over 5 miles of trails, kayak or canoe around the lake, and there's plenty of fishing options, or just relax on a hammock. The Coyote Lodge is a 4,000 cabin with a huge great room with soaring 2 story stone wood-burning fireplace. This space is great for a small ceremony up to 40 guests. The Coyote Lodge has 4 master suites with private bathrooms, and can sleep up to 18 people. Cabin accommodations include 11 cabins, ranging from studio units to 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom cabins. Hart Square is a 200 acre oasis settled in the rolling hills of Western North Carolina. It is the largest collection of log cabins in the country. There are 3 lakes, two chapels, a covered picnic area and several fields, including a 5 acre sunflower field.
