For over a century patrons have found comfort in this historic building nestled in the heights of the Meadowlands, presently home to Ivy Inn. Opened in the 1870’s as a stagecoach inn, travelers in horse and carriage along Polifly Road (later named Terrace Avenue) stopped here to eat and drink in the tavern below and sleep in one of six guest quarters above. After the turn of the 20th century, the inn evolved into a fine dining restaurant (a popular speakeasy during Prohibition), but eventually fell into disrepair. Our property has been in the family since 1960, and the trees were planted in 2007. Our pavilion is 30 by 40 and was built in the summer of 2011 using beams harvested from the property. There are rustic accents added throughout, which help make the space unique. Articulating glass windows & doors on the South & East walls allow us to control temperature shifts, creating a unique indoor/outdoor space. Adjacent to the pavilion is a tented patio which is 60' x 30'. The tent is provided by our venue, includes hanging string lights, and has sides available upon request. With intimate gardens and spectacular views of the Hudson River and New Jersey Palisades, Wave Hill offers the most romantic setting in New York City for your unforgettable wedding. Your ceremony takes place at the Pergola on the Great Lawn, with your cocktail hour there— or on either the Lower Lawn or the Kate French Terrace adjacent to historic Wave Hill House. Dinner is held in Armor Hall. Capacity there is capped at 130 guests, including a small band and dance floor in the Hall. If you choose to locate the dance floor nearby in the adjacent Mark Twain Room, then capacity increases to a limit of 180 guests. Weddings at Wave Hill take place only in the evening, with guests arriving after the gardens have closed to the general public. Only one evening event is booked per date to ensure your event is private and exclusive. All events work with our exclusive caterer Great Performances to create a personalized, quality experience for you and your guests.

We have 3 beautiful venue locations to host your guests: The Herb Garden, The Pasture and The Barn. Come and enjoy an authentic farm to table experience, submerse yourself in the beauty of a fully working farm and enjoy world class cuisine using ingredients raised and grown on the farm. Our herb garden can host cocktail hour or a full course meal right in the middle of our organic herbs and vegetable raised beds. The Pasture boasts unlimited possibilities, where you can experience amazing views of animals grazing in nearby fields and organic vegetables growing in our 2 acre vegetable field. The Barn is an old working dairy barn that has been transformed into a beautiful, rustic event space with turn of the century charm. The barn boasts idyllic 24 foot cathedral ceilings with romantic lighting, the perfect setting for a magical night of dancing. We have a lovely ceremonial area above the pastures in our old growth apple orchard that overlooks the surrounding Appalachian Mountains.

The Lake House at Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course sets the stage for a very special occasion with a lakefront view and one of the most historic Event Venues in New York. The Lake House is located in the North West corner of the Bronx, only several short miles from the border with Westchester County, and it has a 2,500+ sq. ft. outdoor deck with lovely views of the lake. We have customized menus to reflect your individual tastes and style, and our event coordinator will work together with you to make sure all of your specific needs are taken care of.
