“Mike brought expert level attention to detail, along with a great feel for the vibe of our reception. First, he was very informative in our initial discussions, providing direct answers to each of our questions, and giving us an easy to fill in Google Doc for our input. He met with us and our event coordinator to discuss timeline and go over our preferences for certain parts of the ceremony. On the day of he was set up and ready to go for our cocktail hour, and by the time we entered for our first dance he had our (normally very shy) friends and family bumping with energy. During the first dance he kept an eye out for me to signal to wrap up our song a little early (nobody wants to hear a long instrumental outro...). He then proceeded to do a great job of MC'ing our dinner and toasts. Then our party was a complete blast. He expertly weaved in our recommendations with his own song picks. This was no small feat since our wedding featured a combination of American and South Indian cultures, meaning that he had to blend in a number of songs that were most likely new to him. Overall it went really well, with both of our dads having an amazing time, and our friends grouping up for some of the bigger tracks. He closed the night with a special intro to our closer song (Daft Punk's One more time) and everyone was asking for more (unfortunately venues have strict closing times). So, we would highly recommend for the professionalism, organization and ability to keep track of the party's mood as the night went on.”

The music was fun and just the right volume. The sound quality wasn’t all distorted or washed out. We had a few issues with communication in our planning. Things were not communicated up front and changes were suggested with less than a week out from our wedding (stressful). But day of was great. “Trevor and Lynette were amazing and easy to work with. They curated a perfect playlist based on the suggestions we gave. They were able to balance what we wanted with requests from the guests. Finding a DJ/Emcee online was difficult because it is hard to get the sense of their personality but they exceeded our expectations. They are professional and very down to earth. “Our Dj, Terrell, did a FANTASTIC job at our wedding. He announced everything well, communicated with our wedding coordinator and the other vendors, played our requested song list, and consistently checked in on my (new!) husband and I throughout the evening to see if there was anything that he could help us with. On our song list, we noted that we didn't want any country music played (unless it was a specifically requested song), and when one of our guests asked him to play 'Cotton Eye Joe', Terrell even came up to me and asked me if it was okay because he wasn't sure if I considered that country music! Overall, we are VERY happy with terrell! My husband and I would definitely recommend to other couples who are planning a wedding!”

“Hi I just copied and pasted this from the review I sent over. This band was incredible!! I’m so happy we decided to go with them—they rocked all night! The number one thing guests were commenting on, I can’t tell you how many times I was asked, “Where did you FIND them?!” The songs they played were perfect; you can really tell they pay attention to the vibe of the crowd! They offer services for all sound needs throughout the day (mics for officiant, ceremony sound, cocktail hour, etc). Rich is an all-around good person: professional, kind, easy-going. Typically responds within a day, which I was so thankful for! And they’re completely affordable, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to have great live music!! We knew we wanted a band but I hadn't had luck finding anyone close to us that was affordable, responsive, and had wedding experience, so we almost gave up and had a dj instead, but I'm so happy we found Avalon! “Felix & Fingers was the best addition to my wedding! We had a BLAST. It’s the best mix between a live band and sing along karaoke (but you don’t want your uncle to get the mic, you know?). They did beautiful ceremony music, incredible sax jazz during cocktail hour to keep it classy. Then, they kept everyone engaged and entertained for the reception, from my aunt in a walker to my college friends twerking.
