If you go the other route—book first, learn about the style later—you may end up with photos that don’t match your vision. We came to Carrie after our first photographer disappointed us. She has more of a documentary style with less of an emphasis on the awkwardly posed photos. However, she will still go the extra effort to get an amazing poses shot if you ask. They were flexible and really made us feel special on our day, you can see just how passionate they are about their craft! From that one interaction with her, it really felt like we knew her our whole lives. She is super nice, personable, and made us feel very comfortable right away. She also had so much knowledge about the area, and any questions that we had regarding the shoot. She planned and timed everything out so that we could get photos at one location, and then sunset photos by the beach 30 min away. And then when we were looking for photographers for our wedding (in Philadelphia), it was a no-brainer that we wanted to book her again to capture our big day. She came halfway up the coast and played a large role in making our day perfect. We planned the photography from 1000 miles away, and she was really communicative and helpful about the picture planning, and also just wedding planning in general. We ran into a timing issue with how the day was going to work out before the ceremony, and she helped us navigate that, and she worked to keep us on track throughout the night for the different photos that we wanted. She knew what to do & what not to do in the Church. She also worked well alongside our videographer. Ultimately, we are very happy with our experience with Madison, and the wedding photos she took turned out absolutely amazing.”

As we did not have a space to get ready in at the venue or nearby hotels, we needed a studio to provide a space for us to get ready in. I searched many options and none were willing to accommodate - except Swept!!! The studio is adorable, spacious, and they let us take over for the entire morning of the wedding. We had two hair stylists and one makeup, and all of them did an AMAZING job! We had a large group and they got us done so quickly that we were even able to add one more person on to the service, which they absolutely did not need to do for us, but were so accommodating and made our day. On top of the efficient, quick, accommodating service, we all came out of that studio THRILLED with our hair and makeup! I felt so beautiful and the stylists did exactly what I wanted. I was even so surprised that after a night of dancing, sweating in 85 degree humid heat, and some crying (happy tears I promise), my makeup was still FLAWLESS by the end of the night! BIG shout out to makeup artist Sarah for her miracle work! Long story short, I would recommend this company and their stylists to anyone looking for hair and makeup services for their wedding or other big event. Wonderful people and fantastic service.”

She checked in multiple times throughout our wedding planning on photography things such as the timeline, but also helped in providing her opinion on things like the bridesmaid dresses, the locations for the first look, and was generally helpful with her wealth of knowledge of Disney Cruise Line weddings to bounce ideas off of. Her pictures were INCREDIBLE! The quality, coloring, angles, lighting, everything about them is absolutely perfect. But most importantly, she is such a warm and happy person to work with that we felt incredibly comfortable posing in front of her for hours on end! We also had the luxury of her husband helping us a bit too and they were such a team, working together in the hot Bahamian sun quickly and effectively without even needing to direct each other most of the time to maximize how many pictures we could get before the sweat ruined our dress/suit/hair! Another attribute of Mikkel's that's worth mentioning is her flexibility. We took pictures with her the days before and after our wedding in addition to the big day, and our plan and timeline for the full weekend was completely in flux due to the chaos of our venue. If that caused issues for Mikkel, we never knew as she was upbeat and positive and leaned into every challenge that came our way. Honestly I could go on and on about her, she's exactly who we needed for our wedding and I am so grateful that we found her. If you are considering Mikkel, stop thinking about it and just book her - you won't regret it!”
