“It’s honestly hard to put in words the incredible experience we had with Kristen Renee Photography. We started out a few months ahead of time with an engagement shoot (which I would HIGHLY recommend) where we got to know each other and Kristen’s style. as two people who are not used to being photographed, we were so thankful for Kristen’s expertise in posing and making us feel comfortable. We used the photos for our save the dates and wedding invitations :) In the months leading up to our wedding day, Kristen was always available and helpful in answering all our questions. She even scheduled 2 in depth phone calls where she helped us figure out the timeline of the day and made us feel so comfortable. When we decided we wanted videography as well at the last minute, she directed us to Elmtree weddings and facilitated that. Honestly, I don’t know what we would’ve done without Kristen. The wedding day went off without a hitch, and the photos are spectacular. I can’t overstate how important it is to have vendors that work cohesively with each other, and Kristen and her team not only worked well with the other vendors we hired, but actually seemed like FRIENDS. It was obviously the best day of my and my husband’s life (so far ;) ) but it made it extra special to look over and see our photo, video, and DJ team(s) all working so well together. “Kayla was the photographer at our wedding in December of 2018 and we trusted her to be the sole professional source of visual documentation since we opted to forgo a videographer, etc. I was familiar with Kayla's abilities in multiple disciplines as well as her previous work at social events like ours. It was obvious that she possesses a true gift for both standard and unique photographic approaches. Beyond the artistic talent, Kayla has the ideal personality for personal and meaningful lifetime events. She listens and remembers every detail, reads a room and crowd skillfully, and puts herself in almost unnoticeable positions while ensuring that she gets every shot from every angle. For us, with a very small wedding venue that had some unusual layout features, Kayla adapted and used the space to her advantage in a way that demonstrated her substantial ability to be in just the right place at just the right time. She was also a zero-stress and calming presence on what is unavoidably a stressful (and wonderful!) day for a bride and groom - she communicated her few informational needs clearly and worked perfectly with our day-of wedding planner. What sticks out most is her work during the wedding ceremony itself. In a small and very non-traditional space, she found all the right angles with some VERY creative positioning while remaining completely hidden from all in attendance. Her natural and developed skill was obvious throughout the night. Her subsequent work on our beautiful photo album only cemented our complete and total satisfaction with her work on every level. I asked for my first camera when I was 8 years old, and from the first moment it was in my hands, I couldn't put it down. I photographed EVERYTHING from bugs to people to Beanie Babies, filling shoeboxes with negatives and little 3x5 prints. After coloring "backdrops" on notebook paper for each beanie babie and having a full-on photo shoot, I knew photography would be a part of my life forever. :P I photographed my first wedding in November, 2008: over 200 weddings, 7 countries, and 20 states later, and I am still loving every second.

“tldr: Jessica is amazing and I don’t think you can go wrong with her if this is the style of photos you like I had a lot of difficulty picking a photographer as I’m pretty picky with photos. I knew I wanted something bright and light, with kind of a whimsical or ethereal vibe, but it was really hard finding the style until I came across the “fine art” style. Jessica’s name came up while researching this style and I decided to reach out to her among a few other fine art photographers. I definitely hoped talks would go well with Jessica as the others I contacted ended up either not responding or were wildly out of my budget. Pre-Planning: Jessica was wonderful throughout this process. She promptly responded to my emails and answered questions clearly. I never felt like I was left in the dark for any part of the process. When I sent her the timeline of the ceremony/reception, she quickly came up with a timeline to slot in all the photos to be taken ahead of time at the location (We had access to the venue for a little over an hour prior to the ceremony). She also asked for a list of family photos that we wanted to take. This made it very easy at the wedding as she could call out people’s name to make sure everyone that was supposed to be in the pictures, were in the pictures. Jessica also sent over a list of ideas for detail shots and explained she could do this ahead of time. We didn’t want extra pictures of these and decided against it, however, I still thought it was very thoughtful of her to offer. Wedding Day: I loved her energy at the wedding. She was very calm and felt very competent. She directed my husband and I throughout the pictures, showing us poses etc. During family and wedding party photos, even though we had many bodies to fit in the frame in quite a few pictures, she led us through them with ease and the entire experience was very stress free (or as stress free as can be at a wedding lol). The venue was quite dim at specific locations, but the final results did not reflect that at all. The pictures were bright and did not look like they were taken in the dark at all. (This is a little off topic but I loved the little apron with pockets she wore for her equipment. So cute) I’m not sure when Jessica had the time, but there were pictures around the venue which were so beautiful. I definitely feel like the day was captured through the pictures. Post Wedding: Jessica sent us a sneak peak 2 days after the wedding containing 23 pictures. They turned out great and were beautiful. You can see examples on her website so I won’t elaborate, but they really are that good. The full gallery was sent almost a month after the wedding (minus 2 days) with instructions on purchasing prints or an album attached. The full download contained 650ish files, including the sneak peek pictures. Half of which were black and white, so this matched up pretty perfectly with Jessica’s estimation of the amount of photos when we spoke in the pre-planning stage.”
