***Responding to all inquires on my personal website!!!*** I don’t care if you are outgoing, or shy. Addicted to coffee or can’t stand it. Saying your vows in the biggest chapel or the wildest mountain top. If you are down to earth, kind, and reflect good vibes then I want to be YOUR photographer. Because at the end of the day who cares about me, it’s about you and your person saying “hell freaking yes I do”. And however that looks to you, I don’t want to stand in the way.

I loved working with Esther. She kept the energy flowing all day and I loved how creative she was and easy to work with! - Angela, Fuse Events of Bend (Owner)

Capturing Authentic Stories That Transcend Generations || There’s nothing I find more special than witnessing a couple celebrate their love in the most meaningful way possible – whether that’s surrounded by loved ones or in a private moment shared between just the two of them. Your wedding day should feel thoughtful and intentional. It’s about creating moments that resonate with who you are as a couple – moments that evoke a sense of calm and reflection on the journey that brought you together and the adventures that lie ahead.

My husband and I have never had a big, traditional wedding mindset -- we firmly believe that getting married is about whatever works best for a particular couple so long as they're celebrating their love the right way. For us, that meant doing something intentional, special, and unique. And oh boy, did we ever get that with Tori. I have the absolute privilege (HONOR, really) to know Tori well. I have seen how amazing she is at her job just through the evidence (photos, couples raving about her, etc). but never could have fully understood just how gifted, talented, and amazing she is until we fully experienced it for ourselves. Leading up to our day, Tori helped us figure out the perfect location for us -- a spot we'd never been -- while managing and juggling all of the logistics for us (could we do the jeep trail?, when would the sun set?, could we make a reservation for dinner too?, would we like the spot?, etc.). Let me be clear -- I am not a planner. And one of the biggest reasons we wanted to elope was to avoid the traditional stress that usually comes with "planning" a large wedding. To say that Riley and I felt zero stress would be a dramatic understatement. The entire process was FUN and EXCITING -- exactly what we always wanted it to be. And that was just leading up to the day. The day we got married was unreal in the best way possible. I can't describe what it's like to have a photographer there with you who sees you, understands you, and most importantly documents your love authentically. We couldn't stand the idea of a big, pose-y photoshoot on a day we wanted to be so genuine and about our love. And you know what? We didn't get an ounce of that. Our day was pure magic. Blissful, stunning, 1000% joyful magic. And Tori was one of the biggest parts of that. Trust your day (and your love) with her and never look back. And, as a bonus, the photos are so stunning we cry every time we see them!

Gwen Shoemaker Photography

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,500
  • Serves Madras, OR

Howdy! I'm Gwen. I am believer in love at first sight and that travel is the best teacher (experiencing new places makes my soul sing). I have been photographing weddings for over 13 years. From Iceland to Antarctica, Hawaii to Alaska, Shanghai to Scotland and frequently in Colorado my home-state, I've captured photos of incredible humans full of love. I quickly found my passion is documenting intimate weddings and elopements; those full of intention and a little untraditional. I support ALL clients and their right to marry who and how they choose.

It's important when looking for a photographer that you don't only like their work- you also jive with them personally. Gwen has a great eye for composition and detail while also being a great human and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Gwen!

I am a sentimental wedding photographer who loves celebrating free-spirited and natural couples who love the outdoors. Camping has always been my church. The outdoors are my sanctuary. I believe in presence over presents. I believe in pushing boundaries, giving time is better than gifts and comfort over style. Elopements and intimate weddings are my primary specialty, but if my work resonates with you, let's talk!

Erica was so great to work with from start to finish. She was beyond helpful when discussing possible locations and building the perfect itinerary based on what we wanted. She took us to spots that we never would have known were possible to get to and the photos were amazing. Erica is a very fun and friendly person. You will feel so comfortable throughout the entire session. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer!

From start to finish, Carly and Kasey were absolutely amazing! We first met with Carly back in 2018 and booked her for our 2020 wedding. Because if COVID, we changed our date three times and Carly was incredibly flexible and accommodating during the whole process. Her availability calendar being right on her Instagram made it so easy to choose our new date (keeping Carly and Kasey as our photographers was our #1 priority when rescheduling). She quickly sent updated contracts and was just so kind and understanding. Our engagement photo session was fun and Carly made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Some of the images from that session will forever be my favorites of us. When it came time for the wedding, Carly was critical in helping me come up with a timeline. She knew our vision and offered suggestions and locations for pictures. On the actual wedding day, she and Kasey were amazing. We expected it to rain all day so they were super flexible about making last minute changes to the locations and timeline to accommodate the possible rain. The sneak peeks we’ve gotten so far have been perfection and I cannot wait to see the rest! Carly and Kasey are not just exceptionally talented photographers- they are good, kind people. They make you feel comfortable and like you’ve known them your whole life. I could not have imagined better people to know or to take our wedding photos.

My name is Nadia. I specialize in elopements + adventure weddings in the Pacific Northwest. I help people have the wedding of their dreams in magical outdoor spaces. When you choose to elope, you’re choosing to get married free of society’s wedding day expectations. So go wild! Spend the entire day in your favorite place, with your favorite person. Wear a fancy outfit, or wear your hiking boots. Invite your dog instead of your mom’s second cousin. Share your first kiss under the stars instead of under an altar. In the great outdoors, you write the wedding rules. And I’m here to help make it an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.

Awarded Best of Zola
When we began looking for a photographer for our micro-wedding, we gravitated towards Nadia’s images over and over again. Not only did they capture raw, intimate moments between couples and families, but they elevated those moments in elegant and natural landscapes of the PNW; everything we wanted. We reached out and set up a consultation call immediately. We were initially nervous and felt very unprepared to speak with photographers because we had zero ideas for what our special day would look like, but after our call with Nadia we were confident that Venture Ever After was the right choice for us. She was so knowledgeable and did a TON of legwork planning our timeline to best capture the moments we wanted in the lighting we needed, recommending a variety of locations for some private moments as a couple and group activities with our family, and keeping us grounded and calm throughout the entire process. On our wedding day, Nadia took the reigns and gently guided us through the day with compassion and grace. She constantly reminded us that each moment was for us and encouraged us to revel in all of the details. She even conquered some pretty crazy heights armed with multiple cameras and a walky-talky to capture some dramatic and beautiful couple’s portraits. Beyond being an incredible photographer, Nadia is one of the most genuine and kind people I’ve met. She has a knack for keeping elopement/wedding day energy light and helping her clients feel natural in front of the camera. My partner and I truly felt like models. I feel so blessed to have our wedding photographed by her and, above all, be able to call her a friend. I would recommend Nadia at Venture Ever After to everyone planning an elopement, wedding, or adventure in the PNW. In fact, I hope to be able to visit her and capture anniversaries and momentous occasions for our family long into the future.

I'm a CA based and travel wedding photographer. I've photographed almost 200 weddings, and every single one goes by so quickly. I love my job because even though the day goes by fast, I get to find and capture those small moments, sometimes just a fraction of a second long, so they can be relived over and over in photographs. I have a photojournalistic and documentary style, plus 9 years of wedding experience under my belt, so trust me that I've got it while you are able to fully enjoy your day and be present.

On the day of the wedding, she was very laid back and intuitive, seamlessly capturing all the special moments without us even noticing she was there. Holly's expertise and talent were evident in the stunning photos she delivered - we were blown away by how beautifully she documented our day. We loved working with Holly so much that we've continued to use her for our yearly family photos ever since, and wouldn't want anyone else to capture these memories for us.

Definitely one of the best decisions I made for our wedding. We had Ann Marie do our engagement photos and we loved her from the start and loved how they came out. We were devastated when we found out she was already booked for our wedding date, but she got us set up with one of her associates Elena at a discounted rate. Even though she wasn't going to be there on our big day she still put in so much effort to help us decide the timeline and the shot list. She kept in contact with us the whole time and really made us feel confident about the big day. She will still be doing the editing in her style and we are absolutely thrilled with the sneak peek shots we've gotten so far! She even threw in an extra photographer for us for free which was incredibly kind of her, although unfortunately that photographer was sick on the day of the wedding so we still ended up with just one. But Elena was great and made us feel totally at ease and got every shot on the list. She kept everything running on time despite the timeline having been created for two photographers. Ann Marie and Elena were a dream team to work with and I can't say enough good things about them.

I love the vintage-inspired look of the photos and video. She communicated when she said she would and I always received a quick response to any questions or messages I had. On the wedding day, I couldn’t imagine anyone who would make it as special as Mae did. She was more than a photographer- she helped me put on myself shoes, hyped up all the little details I stressed months over, and was just such a joy. I cannot recommend Mae enough. Shooting with them literally feels like hanging with your best friends. They were an absolute joy from start to finish, but it was Sharayah’s attention to detail and artistic eye that impressed me above all else. It was inspiring to feel like we were all creating art together, and the photos don’t lie! Our engagement shoot went viral on Instagram, and we got hundreds of comments saying, “these are literally the best engagement photos I’ve ever seen.” I too, agree with that sentiment, but I have to give credit to Hereafter’s vision and execution because they NAILED it. As a team, they’re both extremely communicative and organized, professional yet relaxed in the way they interacted with us and our guests. No one has ever made me feel so comfortable in front of a camera. Additionally, their digital color grading is meticulously adjusted to match 35mm film with incredibly accuracy. They perfectly captured the magic of our special day. We booked them for the whole package - engagement shoot, wedding photos, and wedding video with super 8 film. Their understanding of my vision was remarkable…Hereafter managed to romanticize every single detail in a profound way. The photos are so special to us because each one feels like a standalone piece of art. They went above and beyond for us in every capacity, even going so far as to drive me to the venue on my wedding day when things ran late! We cannot recommend Hereafter Films highly enough. Book them immediately! I promise you, they are worth every single penny and more.

Brayley was hands down the easiest and one of the best hires for our wedding. I found her through the Zola website as a photographer with five stars. I reached out, and she got back to me immediately. Her communication skills were top-notch, and I hired her that same day. My fiancé and I live in the Carolinas, and despite the three-hour time difference, we always felt in the loop, heard, and understood. From the first email to the wedding day, she was amazing. Now let's get to the important stuff... the wedding day. She was incredible. She got all the shots I wanted and then some. We were able to get all the photos done in a timely manner so that we could get back to the party and enjoy ourselves. Brayley captured both staged photos and the best candids. We cannot wait to get the rest of our album back. If you're thinking about hiring Brayley... DO IT!

Ashleigh was absolutely incredible as our wedding photographer for our October wedding in Ashland, Oregon! We’re both a little camera-shy, but she made us feel comfortable and made the process way more fun than we ever expected. The photos completely exceeded our expectations and are beyond stunning—they’ll be cherished forever. We couldn’t recommend her enough!

From start to finish, Stef was such an absolute pleasure to work with! I can’t recommend her enough. Her communication with us was easy and kind from the get go, and she was very knowledgeable about her craft. Our photos are absolutely stunning! We have gotten so many compliments from family and friends. I even had one good friend say that if she ever gets married, she will ask me for Stef’s contact info :) Thank you Stef, for beautifully capturing the best day of our lives.
