“Kelton from Marquee Artists was amazing! He was a communicative and active participant in the planning of the music and the announcements at my wedding on March 9. Kelton provided an extensive list of potential songs to play in a shared Google Document with columns for “play” and “do not play” which was great. Also, I was impressed that he attended the walk through of the Whittemore House a month prior to the wedding, asking pertinent questions of the Whittemore staff about the placement of various things and how best to provide the sound amplification that would be needed. He provided wireless mics which worked really well for the toasts. Kelton did a great job as the master of ceremony and his mix of the selected music was fun and fabulous. He had the crowd dancing, rocking to the music. Many of the older folks told me that they hadn’t danced in years but were having lots of fun doing so then. Having him on our wedding team instilled so much confidence in me, my daughter and new son-in-law, who is an amateur DJ. They were so taken by Kelton that, if possible, they would like to attend future events at which Kelton is the DJ!! I HIGHLY recommend him.”

Not only did they all make the trip, they also were very easy to work with throughout the entire planning period and wedding weekend. We have been performing as a band since 2003, when Jordan Shapiro formed the band with some close musician friends in Brooklyn, NY. Since then, the band has performed at hundreds and hundreds of concerts, weddings, festivals, parties, kids birthday parties, and various other kinds of family oriented events. We have an extensive songlist of over 300 songs, drawing from all styles of music, including traditional folk/bluegrass, as well as classic rock, pop, jazz and country. The band has also released 3 full length albums of original music, ranging from progressive bluegrass/newgrass instrumentals to goofy kids songs.

“All of our guests commented that the music at our wedding was lovely and really tied the whole event together. Our venue did not allow DJ's or amplified sound and Astrograss had no problem playing everything acoustically. They were really great communicating before our event. They learned 5 songs at our request and let us pick plenty others for them to play from their extensive repertoire. They even coordinated with our friend (who is a singer) who wanted to sing something for us which ended up being one of the highlights of the night.”

She made the music process easy and stress-free, and even learned a song for our ceremony. We did not have a DJ, so everything relied on the violin. The background tracks filled in the music beautifully, and you could tell Petya gave it her all and played her heart out, and EVERYONE knew it! We had so many compliments on her and her music. When it was time for her to finish up and have some dinner, she was invited to sit at multiple guest tables, and our family didn’t want her to leave! We cannot recommend Petya more! We consider her a friend now, and know that we will meet her again in the future!”
