A group of professional caterers and hospitality employees envisioned an event space like no other. We were lead to an aging, almost forgotten piece of our past. The old Cotton Depot in Clinton SC quietly sat on the edge of downtown. The building spoke to us, 17,000 square feet of handmade brick each telling a story, 11ft ceilings with exposed beams, arched windows and wide planked floors. We immediately began designing the space. Through our catering experience we knew the need for easy access, a good flow and having conveniently located facilities. We also knew the importance of having multifunctioning spaces that can be dressed up or down to make each event uniquely yours. Imagine yourself walking off a busy street in America and through a door that takes you back in time to the cozy and communal atmosphere of a traditional pub 100 years ago in Ireland. This is what David Kelly and Ciaran Sheehan set out to accomplish when they built their first Rí Rá pub in Charlotte, NC in 1997. They set to work in Dublin to meticulously restore the unique Victorian bar in the middle of the Charlotte pub. Rí Rá is located in Charlotte's busy banking district. Since opening, it has become a favorite hot spot for downtown locals and visitors alike. The pub is unique in that it was built from an actual old pub in Ireland. It was first built in the early 1800s for the officer's mess in the Phoenix Park Barracks in Dublin.

Initially, the 62-acre Het Landhuis Estate was part of a 1,000-acre farm owned by the Henderson family who operated a tanyard in the area, making saddles and other leather items. One day a future bride drove past Het Landhuis; she stopped in the main driveway and asked if she could get married there. That conversation changed the course of the estate, and Het Landhuis had its Grand Opening in 2010.
