“Brian did an amazing job for our hybrid Guyanese-American wedding. With our ceremony, Brian did a great job following our difficult instructions related to some of the music to be played, and did a fantastic job on some of the premixes for the walk. He also had everything needed such as speakers and microphones for the ceremony and confirmed and communicated with us on everything to ensure it went smoothly. We needed a mix of chutney/soca and American music for our reception and Brian did an amazing job that satisfied EVERYONE. He was familiar with a lot of our music, which was awesome, and did an amazing job mixing the music with more American music to satisfy everyone. I can't recall a moment the dance floor was empty. We had an amazing wedding day and LTL was a large reason why our wedding went smoothly and everyone had an amazing time. I would highly recommend LTL for your wedding. Especially if you are multicultural or need someone to provide non-american music, which can be difficult to find in the area. We are so happy we went with Brian and LTL, it was an absolutely amazing party!”

“We booked Hanel for both our engagement shoot and wedding. We cannot say anymore great things about him. His email responses were timely, thorough and it was incredibly easy to set up time to meet with him to discuss his and our visions. My husband and I are not camera people in the slightest, and often make silly faces in order to balance our awkwardness. However, Hanel and his assistant made us feel at ease during both shoots, and gave easy directions for us to follow throughout that ultimately made us feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera. They were so welcoming/friendly, and we felt like we were just hanging out with our friends for the day. Hanel was able to handle the chaos that were my family and friends on the wedding day, and easily navigated all the different groupings for photos the day of with immense ease. He kept to our wedding timeline without making us feel rushed. Our photos were sent back to us quickly after a month, and they were absolutely gorgeous. “Brooke is an absolute gem and I feel so lucky that we were referred to her. I told her early on that I did not expect to personally have any fun on my wedding day, and all because of Brooke, I had without a doubt, the best day of my entire life. What a phenomenal way to kick of our marriage. We went back and forth on getting a planner, but finally decided that having a day-of coordinator would probably alleviate a lot of stress. Brooke went above and beyond what we expected from a day-of, always offering to take on tasks that seemed too overwhelming for us (finding shuttles, hotel blocks). She was responsive and routinely checked in on us formally and informally. Imagine our shock when we learned she was giving us so much attention and professionalism while she was in the middle of planning her OWN wedding just months before our date! If she was stressed by that, she never showed it, and she even offered us some advice based on her own personal experiences. I had never been in a wedding so I was not at all privy to what goes into planning. Brooke was totally on board with shirking some traditions while prioritizing what we valued most (sentimentality, personalization, guest experience). She made suggestions, but never made us feel pressured to do anything. I wanted full control over several aspects of the wedding and she never made me feel like I was not capable or stupid for, say, wanting to do my own flowers. During our meetings, she was organized and efficient and I always felt better after speaking with her. She made an effort to get in contact with all of our vendors and important people so that everyone could be on the same page for the weekend. She had never done a wedding at our venue (the Ithaca Farmers Market) and made an effort to acquaint herself with the space and (very thorough) procedures beforehand. Brooke is not only professional, flexible, and organized, She is also exactly the person you want with you on your wedding day. I have 2 ways of responding to stress – being a goof and being a snappy, rude b**** and Brooke responded to both with total grace and kindness. She gave me the space to crack jokes during the rehearsal, certainly dragging out the process, which made me feel like it was still OUR wedding and not someone else’s idea of a wedding. If something wasn’t going exactly the way I wanted (e.g. my dad forgot something important at the hotel), I would often take out my frustration on Brooke who would receive it, speak kindly to me, and smile (when what I really deserved sometimes was a slap). She has a way of making you feel seen, heard, and safe, which is exactly what you need when everyone’s eyes are on you. And it was not just me, everyone totally adored her and appreciated her presence. What was really important to me, is that to the extent there were any mistakes/miscommunications (inevitable!) Brooke always took accountability and never tried to redirect blame (even if it was not hers to accept). I really respect this in a person and did not find a ton of it in the wedding planning industry otherwise. Overall, Brooke listens, works super hard, treats you like a dear friend, lets you be yourself.”

“It was love at first sight when I found Blooming Faith Photography on Zola! I was struck by the classic style of the portraits and natural air of those being photographed. It was exactly what I was looking for! Melissa was quick to respond to my inquiry and provided all the info I needed right off the bat. She is detailed and thorough in her correspondence and planning, which I appreciated since we only had 5 months to plan our wedding long distance. She offered an introductory Zoom consultation to discuss our vision for the photos so we could feel at ease leading up to the actual day. When the time came, Melissa was the consummate professional! We did a First Look shoot, and she lead the way completely, to avoid any awkward mishaps and to insure we got the moment captured on our video as well. All of our formal photos were posed beautifully and naturally, and she timed it all perfectly (which was great, because it was quite cold!) She’s also great with kids! Our flower girl and ring bearer had a great time doing photos. At both the ceremony and reception, Melissa didn’t miss a single moment yet remained respectful and discreet. Two Upper West Siders. Twenty blocks apart. How had we not crossed paths before? Or did we? Well, after finally matching on Hinge we made that happen and the rest is history! We have combined families and now as a family of 7 (three dogs, two cats) we have become an unstoppable force. We both share the same passion for photography, capturing the beauty all around us and making magic happen. Our dog Lucy, embodies love, kindness and poise. We couldn’t imagine naming our business after anyone but her. That’s how Love, Lucy Photography came to be.

“Planning my wedding was definitely exciting, but had a lot of stressful moments because I can be a perfectionist and very indecisive. I think I was mostly nervous about booking a photographer because eventually people will forget the details maybe even the dress I chose, but the pictures are forever. So that was what I wanted to be absolutely perfect. Let me tell you… my prayers were answered when I found Rabab!!! I was immediately drawn by her absolutely stunning work, and I knew that was exactly what I wanted for my wedding. When I met Rabab in person, to discuss my needs for a photographer and get a quote, I was instantly put at ease when I met her. She has a way of making anyone feel very comfortable with her charismatic personality. She is also funny and made me feel like we were friends instantly! She was able to customize what I was looking for which was really nice because other photographers that I reached out before had a very rigid package that they offered. Rabab genuinely cares and always aims to please. When I first saw our engagement photos, I literally cried tears of joy. There’s only been a couple of other times in my life when that has happened. I just genuinely felt so overjoyed and completely ecstatic with Rabab‘s PERFECT work!!! I am not comfortable taking pictures because I don’t feel that I’m photogenic and again I am super picky and a perfectionist, but Rabab captured my very best features and angles, and made me look better than I ever have! I was instantly ecstatic to see what our wedding pictures would look like, and she did not disappoint me once.
