“I enthusiastically recommend Rob for all your photography needs. He is super personable, affordable, and his photos are absolutely stunning. Rob photographed our wedding and what initially set him apart was his video messages and desire to have video meetings (we got married during the COVID-19 pandemic). At first, we found it a bit unusual, but we quickly realized that the video calls made it so much easier to get to know Rob and build a connection, particularly during a time when in-person meetings aren't an easy option. We had a few video calls to talk through our vision and hopes for the wedding day. Rob also walked us through examples of weddings he had done that would be similar in style to ours so we could get a sense of his artistic approach. We could immediately tell that he was very thorough and detail-oriented. As we were planning out the day, Rob gave super helpful suggestions, demonstrating his knowledge of what worked in the DC area (including at the Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, and the DC War Memorial) from a photographer’s perspective, and helped us develop a realistic plan for the day given our time together. On the wedding day, Rob made us feel very comfortable - both with him and with having our photo taken as we were newbies at that. And all of our guests felt the same way as he was organizing the after ceremony family portraits. He also turned around the final product in a very timely manner (within one month), and provided a sneak peak within the first week. We were completely blown away. The photos were vibrant, creative, and captured the joy and memories of the day so well. Family and friends are already hanging them up in their houses.”

“When I was planning my wedding, choosing the makeup artist was one of the things I was most nervous about. On a daily basis the only makeup I wear is a little mascara so I was scared of looking too done up and not myself. My hair stylist suggested to me that I give Sarah a call and I’m so glad he did! When she came to my house for my trial she asked me all about how I wanted to look and feel on my wedding day and I felt totally understood. The first trial I did with another artist was horrible and I left feeling like a contestant on RuPaul so it was so nice to have someone that understood what I wanted and could totally deliver. She was so friendly and had a great calm energy about her that made me feel comfortable. On my wedding day she did my makeup, my mother and my mother in laws, who were both terrified of looking to over the top as well but of course it turned out perfect. Sarah also covered up a small tattoo on my back that I don’t love and didn’t want to be the main focus of the day. All her products must be top notch because nothing ever faded, I never needed to reapply anything, not even after walking two miles in the September sun and dancing all night. I took a picture of myself when I got home that night and I looked exactly the same as I did that morning when Sarah left my house. “We found Madison because she was an Alumni from same school, UCF, as me. We booked her to do an engagement shoot (an hour outside of Orlando) and our photos turned out absolutely amazing. From that one interaction with her, it really felt like we knew her our whole lives. She is super nice, personable, and made us feel very comfortable right away. She also had so much knowledge about the area, and any questions that we had regarding the shoot. She planned and timed everything out so that we could get photos at one location, and then sunset photos by the beach 30 min away. And then when we were looking for photographers for our wedding (in Philadelphia), it was a no-brainer that we wanted to book her again to capture our big day. She came halfway up the coast and played a large role in making our day perfect. We planned the photography from 1000 miles away, and she was really communicative and helpful about the picture planning, and also just wedding planning in general. We ran into a timing issue with how the day was going to work out before the ceremony, and she helped us navigate that, and she worked to keep us on track throughout the night for the different photos that we wanted. She knew what to do & what not to do in the Church. She also worked well alongside our videographer. Ultimately, we are very happy with our experience with Madison, and the wedding photos she took turned out absolutely amazing.”

“Sam was not only the best vendor we worked with but also the most fun. Non stop laughing. We forgot to bring a bluetooth speaker while we were getting ready, Sam had it covered. “We hired Swept for our October 2022 wedding. They were very professional and made the process very easy to schedule their services. Jaime, the owner, was perfect to work with. I had 5 bridesmaids, and 3 parents/grandparents needed hair and makeup services. When one of our bridesmaids passed away, Jaime was perfect and patient with us for changing the amount of people needing services. Then closer to the wedding date, before final payment, I had some bridal party want to add services on, and some didn’t need services anymore. Jaime was so amazing and adapted our contract to any changes that needed to happen. She was such an angel in the stress of wedding planning. When we scheduled my trial, I still wasn’t 100% sure what my wedding look was going to be. Sarah did my makeup, and I told her I wanted a more natural look. She came up with the most perfect natural glam look that I loved! Ciarrah did my hair. I showed her multiple inspiration pictures that were similar hairstyles, and explained I honestly wasn’t sure which one I should do for my fine hair type. She was so kind, and willing to try different options to find the perfect one. Her first hairstyle pic was the winner but it still didn’t feel perfect. She suggested letting some hair hang out of the bun, and it was so beautiful! Wedding day, we had all the bridesmaids stay the night in an air bnb to make everything easier in the morning. Sarah and Ciarrah were so efficient and had everybody done before the latest time they could be done. Everyone looked gorgeous! We had music playing that made it such a fun atmosphere on my wedding day! I felt like a princess! They both made me look and feel so beautiful on my wedding day! Perfect company to hire! Jaime is also able to switch hair stylists or makeup artists if it’s not a match at your trial. You also can request specific artists if you like their specific work on Swept’s website or Instagram.”

We worked with Brittany Glover, who was professional, accommodating, and understood that we wanted an outstanding food experience, both for us and for our guests. We also wanted a pescatarian/vegetarian menu, which we thought would be a bit of a challenge; but Brittany gave us so many options that it never even registered that we didn't have meat. The planning was so much fun, the tasting dinner was spectacular, and we didn't have to think about a thing at the wedding itself. The catering was breathtakingly beautiful, and SO DELICIOUS. Our guests absolutely swooned over the food, and are still talking about how wonderful it was. The presentation was superb, the service outstanding, the open bar with a signature cocktail (Aperol spritz) was fantastic, the burrata bar at the cocktail hour killed, the hot stuff was hot and the cold stuff was cold, and the integration of other one-off requests of ours (one relative wanted light beer, we used a favorite baker for the wedding cake, Eric likes good rye, etc.) was seamless. Honestly, we wouldn't have changed a thing. We would use Starr Catering again in a heartbeat. It's our second anniversary today, and we're so grateful to Starr Catering for helping us have the wedding we wanted. T”
