โ€œFortune Valley Manor was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the beginning, the team's communication was detailed, fast, and extremely organized. The gorgeous barn and property were exactly what we were looking for to blend our Tamil Brahmin (Hindu) wedding traditions with an Upstate New York barn feel. The wedding planning process was thorough, and Kerri and her team made sure our special day went smoothly, even studying our customs ahead of time. While wedding planning can be overwhelming at times, Fortune Valley Manor exceeded all of our needs and expectations to make our dream wedding a reality.โ€

Tim the Banquet manager was always around ready to make sure it all ran smoothly. Ryan the lift operations manager kept Brittany updated on the weather day of and when it didnโ€™t look good at the bottom he drove up to make sure he truly had say no to us going to the summit (it was 30 degrees with 45 kt winds) he and his crew opened the lift for 2 hours the next day so we could still get our summit pictures and they all had smiles on their faces. Birch Hill Catering &ย Estateย

5.0

Castleton On Hudson, NY
  • Up to 600 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

With over 80 years of experience, Birch Hill Catering continues to be one of Upstate New Yorkโ€™s most memorable wedding destinations. From a formal sit-down dinner in a ballroom setting to casual outdoor BBQ style wedding or even a rustic barn wedding; any one of the venues at Birch Hill Estate or Stablegate Farm is sure to capture your imagination.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Space for a large guest list
  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Provides event staff

Venue considerations

  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
โ€œMy wedding experience at Birch Hill was incredible, and I owe so much of that to Serena and her amazing team! We started the booking process in early March, hoping for a September/October wedding date, and thankfully found one that worked. Serena was an absolute goddess from start to finishโ€”she gave us a thorough tour of all the location options, answered every question, and made the entire process feel effortless. We knew almost immediately that no other venue would compare! Since we were on a tight timeline, I reached out to Serena frequently with questions, and she always responded promptly and thoroughly. By our 90-day planning meeting, we were already so comfortable with everything, and Serena guided us seamlessly through food choices (of which there were so many!) and other details. Her expertise really shone through when I wasnโ€™t sure about certain things; she made it all so simple and stress-free. On the big day, I felt so confident in Serena and her teamโ€”it was like everything was taken care of before I could even think about it. I truly felt like I had nothing to worry about and could be fully present in every moment, which made the day even more magical. They thought of every detail, big and small, allowing me to simply enjoy and soak it all in. Speaking of the foodโ€”it was hands down the best meal Iโ€™ve ever had! We chose the Cocktail Style package and went with a wide range of options, including crispy calamari with lemon-garlic aioli, French onion soup, cider bacon-wrapped chicken, pulled pork wonton bites, and mini grilled cheeses with tomato soup shooters, among others. Every single bite was phenomenal! The prime rib was cooked to perfection, and the mashed potato bar and pasta station were crowd favorites. Our guests raved about the gourmet French fry station that we had later in the night. While we handpicked the items, I genuinely believe that anything else on their menu would have been just as amazingโ€”the quality and flavors were out of this world. At the end of the night, everything was packed up perfectly and already in my car before I even stopped partying! If I had to give any constructive feedback, it would be about the bridal suite. It was a very warm day for late September, and the air conditioning hadnโ€™t been turned on before we arrived, so the suite was quite hot initially. Other than that, our ceremony by the pond was absolutely beautiful. While the mosquitos and some goose droppings were a minor annoyance, the setting was otherwise perfect and so romantic. All in all, I couldnโ€™t have asked for a better experience. Serenaโ€™s commitment and attention to detail made our wedding truly unforgettable!โ€

Full Moon Resort, located in the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York, is a rustic, yet sophisticated, full-service, destination facility, featuring over 100 acres of meadows, forests, and streams, a year-round heated pool, a range of lodging options for your entire group, exquisite on-site catering and world-class event management.

  • Full catering menu to choose from
  • Provides event staff
  • Bridal suite on site

Venue considerations

  • No free parking
  • Does not allow pets
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
โ€œMy team and I have had the great pleasure of working at Full Moon Resort since 2011! This resort is such an outstanding venue for weddings and events! As a wedding professional myself, I have always had such a sense of ease working here. Their staff has always been helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable, and they continue to offer this consistency year after year. I am never left worrying about who may or may not be working at each event that we are a part of. So many venues have a constant revolving door of employees, it can be very stressful not only for couples getting married when that happens, but also for the vendors. There is never any of that stress at this venue. In addition to the highly experienced staff who work here, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, climate-controlled, with clean and spacious restrooms, and kept immaculately clean, which is impressive when many area venues are more rustic. I also always appreciate that there is a solid ceremony plan in place, no matter what the weather decides to do. As a florist, I really like the fact that this venue is a total "blank slate," so when it comes to wedding decor, couples are never limited with their design selections. This venue also has stunning grounds for some of the prettiest wedding photos! Seriously, even off-peak times of the year such as March and April are still stunning here, with their beautiful birch trees, and moss and lichen-covered rocks. If you are a couple looking for an ideal wedding venue, look no further than Full Moon Resort! P.S. Photo Courtesy of https://perennialimage.com/โ€

โ€œReview for Blenheim Hill Farm Blenheim Hill Farm was the wedding venue of our dreams. From our very first meeting, the owners, Min and Morten, went above and beyond to make us feel supported and cared for. They were personally involved every step of the way โ€” from answering our endless planning questions, to leading us through the tasting, to being hands-on during our big day. The venue itself is picture perfect: set on over 100 acres of peaceful countryside, it offers both privacy and freedom โ€” we loved that we could have a live band, late-night dancing, and even a custom firework show without worrying about noise ordinances. The charm of the working farm added such a special touch, from guests petting goats upon arrival to enjoying eggs fresh from the coop at our Sunday brunch. The food was absolutely incredible โ€” so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding meal theyโ€™ve ever had. And when light rain threatened our outdoor ceremony, Min and Morten worked tirelessly to hold off the rain plan until the last possible moment; the skies cleared just in time, and their team quickly ensured every seat was dry and perfect. One small note for future couples: plan your guest transportation carefully. We had guests staying in Windham, which added a bit of stress with bus logistics โ€” in hindsight, weโ€™d recommend nearby Airbnbs or closer towns. Still, everything about our experience at Blenheim Hill Farm was magical, and weโ€™re endlessly grateful to Min, Morten, and their team for helping us create a day weโ€™ll cherish forever.โ€
