While we take capturing your memories seriously, we love helping you laugh, have fun and live in the moment. Much to my delight, as a sophomore in high school, I was mistakenly placed into a senior level photography class. Since then I have never been without a camera. I graduated in 1993, with a BFA in Photography from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Before becoming a full-time photographer, I worked for a decade in journalism in the US and internationally as an Art Director and Creative Director at the Philadelphia Weekly, The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.com. After leaving journalism in 2004, I opened my own studio in Manhattan where I lived for 20 years, met my husband, and had twins before moving to Princeton, NJ in 2014.

First, I want to take the mystery out of pronouncing my first name: Berit (pronounced ‘bear – it’), and my last name Bizjak (pronounced ‘biz-jack’). I couldn’t have married a ‘Smith’ or ‘Jones’, right?! I am inspired by you as individuals, where you’re from and what your style is! From a sleek rooftop in New York City to a private estate in the Hamptons or a tropical island in Bermuda, I have been photographing weddings professionally around the world for over 20 years. Working in new places fuels my creative craft and my insatiable love for travel, adventure and connection with my clients.

I tell peoples stories with emotion and creativity on one of the most important days of their lives, and I love it. It's as simple as that. There isn't a single wedding that I photograph where I didn't get the “feels” throughout the day. It’s usually the parent dances that get me choked up, or the little moments before the wedding that very few see. To be able to experience so many unbelievable moments and tell your story through my photography makes every second worth it. I’ve learned that to be happy in life one of the first steps is to do what you love. Being able to share something I love with other people makes it even better.

My love for music lead me to another art form; photography. I went from recording studios to photo studios and I haven’t looked back. While working on social media projects for Diddy and meeting celebrities left and right i figured it would be the perfect time to start doing photography. While artist portraits and club photography felt fun, the vanity soon wore off and i wanted to produce images that would be more meaningful. Wedding photography created a happy medium for me.

I'm in the business of you enjoying your wedding day and want you to forget all about the camera. I have been a professional photographer for over 20 years with 30 Wedding Photojournalists Association awards to my credit. I am also a member of Fearless Photographers and a Photo District News Top Knots Best In Category Winner. I shoot with a photojournalist approach in order to capture the most natural and honest wedding images possible. My clients weddings have been featured in many well known wedding magazines/blogs.

Ever since I was a child, I've been passionate about arts and culture. Wedding photography fulfills my passion in various ways more than I would have ever imagined. I studied photography at U-Arts and PCAD, and have been photographing weddings for over 10 years, throughout which I've been developing my style of photo-journalism.
