Our ancestors settled here in 1635 from Heavitree, England, hence the name. We are one of the few longest-living farms to continue in the founder’s name “Geer.” The Heavitree is an original 18th-century building saved and moved to its current location, a 140+ acre farm started by our ancestors in 1700. The original structure was a tavern in Rhode Island, saved from destruction by Charlotte Geer to complement her family’s historic farmland. With twelve rooms, including four sleeping chambers, modern amenities, and unique 18th-century rooms, the 4,780 sq. ft. farmhouse offers a historic experience. Enjoy the vast lawns, fields, gardens, and beautiful private vistas.

Blissful Meadows Golf Club features a historic clubhouse venue as well as an open-air pavilion. Blissful Meadows Golf Club has two main event areas. These include the rustic barn-style pavilion and the Chestnut Room. The Pavilion is ideal for those with rustic tastes, searching for an indoor-outdoor, barn-style venue, set among a beautiful backdrop. The Chestnut Room, which comfortably seats up to 185 guests, also offers an idyllic backdrop. Beyond its windows, the 18-hole golf course can be admired from a second-floor vantage point. A wedding held here can enjoy all the essential services, including dining rentals and bartending services. In addition to this, there are in-house wedding coordination services, floral and decor services. The Charlestown Rathskeller started out as a speakeasy in a different time, and has grown into something entirely unique since then. Nestled in the woods of Charlestown since 1933, the Rathskeller is one of the most memorable dining and entertainment destinations in Southern New England. We serve deliciously grilled steaks, local seafood, burgers and sandwiches in our meticulously restored dining room and tavern, beautiful outdoor patio, and at our indoor and outdoor bars. Just across the restaurant’s backyard sits our rustic outdoor music and entertainment venue. Down Back, our summer stage, backyard bar and burger shack surround a roaring bonfire on cool summer nights. Guests from all over New England descend on the Charlestown Rathskeller for concerts featuring some of the best party, pop, rock and country cover acts in the region.
