“TLDR: Sarah Fischback photography was perfect for our wedding! She worked with us every step of the way, had contingency plans and made our wedding day perfect. Why/what we chose: We booked her about a year out from our wedding in May 2024. We wanted someone who was local, with a great portfolio, and wasn’t a chain with multiple sites and a huge staff. She was flexible with the contract as we decided what we did and didn’t want. We decided on 1 photographer for 8 hours, 1 photographer for 6 hours & 1 videographer for 6 hours with an 8-10 min video of the day, plus a hard drive of pictures & footage. Leading up: We made payments in 3 installments over that year. We filled out a form which laid out specific shots we wanted, timeline for the day, and choose music for the video. 1 month before the wedding we had a phone call with Sarah directly to discuss all the plans. She answered every question we had and took great notes on a spreadsheet that she shared with us. She also told us that she was pregnant and would be due sometime soon after our wedding so she was planning to have the second photographer stay longer to help out in case she couldn’t do certain things, at no charge to us. The only “problem”: A week before the wedding Sarah texted us that she had gone into labor. This could easily have been one of those stressful last minute wedding issues, but she had an organized, thorough, and thoughtful contingency plan. She had her secondary photographer become the primary, and had another individual as her secondary. She filled them in on the plans of the day and everything was still a go! And Sarah still edited our photos. It was a bummer we wouldn’t have Sarah there, but given how everything had gone so far we trusted her and hoped for the best! Wedding day: The bridal party was met by Sara Fischer (our new primary) at a nearby hotel right on time for all the getting ready shots! Sean (secondary) arrived with Jose (videographer). They started with shots of the venue and groomsmen getting ready. The ceremony started and they just sort of blended in with the crowd, it was great! We didn’t have a wedding planner for making sure we were on time, but the photographers helped with this (not their job but super helpful). The reception went really well too! They worked hard and I hope I gave them a break to have some food as the day really got away from me! One of the other great things was I had a film camera and wanted some film photos and Sean took a bunch with it for me and I really appreciated that (I bought the film, developed, & scanned them & Sarah did edit some of them). Sara, Sean, and Jose were absolutely delightful people to have at the wedding and seemed truly happy to be there. Photo reveal: 2 weeks after the ceremony we got 8 sneak peaks and gave some feedback on coloring and lighting preferences! 8 weeks after the ceremony we got our photos! I honestly love every single photo they took! Absolutely no duds! Our video was 9 minutes long and beautiful! It is amazing to see all these shots of us and our guests, especially from times I didn’t even notice the cameras. Final thoughts: I cannot recommend Sarah Fischback enough. She did so much for us and made our day very special. I know the photographer is one of the most expensive parts of the wedding, but Sarah far exceeded my expectations and it was well worth it!”

They were super responsive and flexible (even as we accidentally lost them in our spam filter until a month before the wedding!) and we first met them on the day before our wedding (we turned our engagement photoshoot into a last-day-of-engagement photoshoot). “Dereck is an incredible photographer and provides very personable, professional, and timely services. I was pleasantly surprised he agreed to drive far and meet us in person before I confirmed for him to my photographer at my wedding. When we met, my husband and I felt very at ease with him as he was patient, professional, and kind. The payment process was very smooth and easy and he was clear about what would be included in the package. Dereck spent time to reach out and collaborate with me before the wedding to discuss expectations and timeline, so it calmed my nerves that he was organized during this stressful planning process. On the actual wedding day, Dereck had injured his ankle, but was clearly hustling despite his pain/injury and walking around the spacious venue to get not only get shots of my dress and personal items, but also running back and forth between bride/groom’s rooms to capture the intimate moments before the ceremony. He was committed and willing to explore the entire venue to capture photos in different locations to offer various background in our photos, which we appreciated. My husband and I are camera shy, but Dereck was very skilled in directing us in what kind of poses work best. Throughout dinner, he captured photos of all our friends/family table-by-table before taking his own meal break. Dereck provided the final photo and video product in a very timely manner and was much quicker than what I had heard from my other friends’ experiences (they said they had waited 6 months for any photos), but I only waited 6 weeks, which is completely reasonable. There was an issue with delivering the final USB, but Dereck was so dedicated he was willing to drive, once again, very far distances to drop it off at our home. After reviewing the final photos and videos, we are more than satisfied with the final product. He delivered exactly what I had asked for regarding a more dramatic effect in the teaser videos and audio vs. solely music over the highlight video. My husband and I had a super fun time laughing on our couch going through all the photos, watching all the clips, reliving the best night of our lives, and being able to watch our friends enjoy our wedding. Dereck provided numerous very well-edited photos that either fixed the lighting or captured different focuses and provided so many videos, which we truly enjoyed. I would highly recommend Dereck’s services!”

“It's easy to look through Annie's photos to see how amazing they are -- I loved her style from the moment I saw her galleries and I was hopeful that our photos would look just as great. Guess what, they are amazing!! She also delivered ALL of our photos in 4 weeks, when she herself got married 2 weeks after us! Maybe the most important piece of guidance that she gave us was to take as many family photos before the event as possible. That way you can focus on the fun once it starts.
