Welcome. I'm D e r e c k. I've been doing photography and videography since 2017. It wasn't until the pandemic of last year that I decided to take a leap of faith and make it a full-time career. I feel like I've always had a burning passion for photography and editing, I love photography because it captures a moment in time. Whether that moment is your wedding day or an annual family portrait, pictures enable us to relive and remember special occasions again + again. Why I specifically dove into Wedding Photography? Simple!! My love for creativity and seeing passionate couples that aren't afraid to show their personalities

What I feel sets me apart from other photographers is my poise and confidence when going into a shoot. I feel like I'm in my natural element. I feel a sense of comfort and creative freedom while behind the camera.

Dereck is an incredible photographer and provides very personable, professional, and timely services. I was pleasantly surprised he agreed to drive far and meet us in person before I confirmed for him to my photographer at my wedding. When we met, my husband and I felt very at ease with him as he was patient, professional, and kind. The payment process was very smooth and easy and he was clear about what would be included in the package. Dereck spent time to reach out and collaborate with me before the wedding to discuss expectations and timeline, so it calmed my nerves that he was organized during this stressful planning process. On the actual wedding day, Dereck had injured his ankle, but was clearly hustling despite his pain/injury and walking around the spacious venue to get not only get shots of my dress and personal items, but also running back and forth between bride/groom’s rooms to capture the intimate moments before the ceremony. He was committed and willing to explore the entire venue to capture photos in different locations to offer various background in our photos, which we appreciated. My husband and I are camera shy, but Dereck was very skilled in directing us in what kind of poses work best. Throughout dinner, he captured photos of all our friends/family table-by-table before taking his own meal break. Dereck provided the final photo and video product in a very timely manner and was much quicker than what I had heard from my other friends’ experiences (they said they had waited 6 months for any photos), but I only waited 6 weeks, which is completely reasonable. There was an issue with delivering the final USB, but Dereck was so dedicated he was willing to drive, once again, very far distances to drop it off at our home. After reviewing the final photos and videos, we are more than satisfied with the final product. He delivered exactly what I had asked for regarding a more dramatic effect in the teaser videos and audio vs. solely music over the highlight video. My husband and I had a super fun time laughing on our couch going through all the photos, watching all the clips, reliving the best night of our lives, and being able to watch our friends enjoy our wedding. Dereck provided numerous very well-edited photos that either fixed the lighting or captured different focuses and provided so many videos, which we truly enjoyed. I would highly recommend Dereck’s services!

Dereck was very great at communicating, he unfortunately had a grand injury a fee days before my wedding but had a replacement scheduled immediately. It took about a month to receive the whole album but he threw in extras. Always very kind and professional when we spoke. Pricing was amazing for what we received

Dereck Davis Photography was a joy to work with for our wedding photography. Dereck has an incredibly friendly, welcoming, and fun communication style that put me at ease, as I'm usually shy and awkward posing for photos. His artistic eye and casual style resulted in gorgeous, natural-looking photos that perfectly captured the laidback vibe of our wedding day. Even during more orchestrated moments like the family portraits, Dereck kept things upbeat and moving smoothly. His easy-going manner encouraged everyone to relax and enjoy themselves rather than stress about getting the perfect shot. Our wedding photos are stunning yet look effortless due to Dereck's ability to work with the existing lighting and scenery. We felt like we were hanging out with a close friend rather than posing stiffly for a photographer. I wholeheartedly recommend Dereck for wedding photography - his beautiful, joyful images will help you remember the love and delight of your special day for years to come.

Where can we start. Dereck was an amazing photographer that supported us during our micro-wedding this year. He truly went above and beyond on all fronts. We had a very short timeline with not a ton of funds but Dereck made sure to work WITH us to ensure that our wedding photos aligned with the vision we wanted within our budget. He struck the balance of being both professional and personable. Our families raved about how kind Dereck was and just assumed he was family friend (note he his now a family we’ve unofficial adopted him lol) because of the amazing energy he brought BEHIND the camera. We were at awe of the way he showed up and how quickly he was able to move with unexpected day of challenges and changes. Not only is Dereck an amazing human but he also is great at his job! The photos we received were beautiful and everything we wanted our wedding photos to be! I have gotten so many compliments on the beauty of the shots and can’t wait to get them printed! Another perk with working with Dereck is how quickly we got our fully edited photos back. I assumed that it would take months to get them because that’s what everyone in every wedding group on Facebook was telling me. We got our 300 photos back before the 8 – 12 weeks turnaround time and didn’t have to hassle him (another theme I saw in Facebook groups). Dereck has customers for life with us. I can not reiterate how much we appreciated the work he did with us. Make sure to book him 10/10 would definitely recommend.
