Above ALX Community is a premier rooftop venue in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, just two blocks off of charming King Street. From the wide wraparound Terrace, you and your guests will enjoy panoramic views of historic Old Town, the Potomac River, and the sights of DC in the distance. The Terrace features a patio covered by a pergola, which can accommodate an intimate seated ceremony or reception. Moving indoors to the Parlor you’ll find sleek marble floors, modern gold finishes, and plush contemporary furniture, perfect for cocktail hour. The Parlor features high ceilings, an outfitted bar, a catering kitchen, elevators, and floor-to-ceiling windows with two access points to the Terrace. District Winery hosts full-service weddings for up to 200 guests. The first working winery in Washington, DC, District Winery is located in Navy Yard along the Anacostia River. The Wharf Dockmaster Building is located at the end of District Pier and your rental includes the space on the pier around it. You have wrap around balconies and 270 degree views of the river and boats, plus the Washington Monument. Your rental gives you the building for the day so you can do any advance decorating, load in etc. It is unfurnished space – typically your caterer will coordinate tables, chairs etc. and help you design the look you want. Our inside capacity is typically 100 seated dinner style or 140-150 standing cocktail style.

The design of this new rooftop began in May 2011 and started with a gravel rooftop similar to the other tower at this location. The building is located at 400 – 444 North Capitol Street, NW in the heart of Capitol Hill. The owners of the building wanted to give visitors an opportunity to view one of Washington’s most spectacular views of the Nation’s Capitol. There are just a handful of rooftop venues in Washington that offer great views and all of them are different. We are fortunate to have a view that pans 300 degrees from Union Station to the Library of Congress, the Capitol Dome, and across to the Washington Monument. And anyone who has visited Washington knows that when the sun sets and the monuments light up the view is even more spectacular. From this vantage point, you feel like you can reach out and touch the sky and marvel and the beauty that is Washington!
