About this venue

The very essence of Virginia hospitality, this secluded resort — at the top of its own peninsula near Chesapeake Bay — offers delightful settings for a memorable ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, and farewell brunch. he beautiful peninsula ensures a private environment enhanced by expansive views of the water, marina, lush lawns and tree-shaded grounds. Activities abound at the Tides ensuring every guest has a wonderful time. Tennis, golf, paddle boarding, bicycle riding and kayaking are just a few of the many fun things to do. Tides Inn is located near the Virginia Wine Trail and Oyster trail. There is a spa and fitness center on property, and some quaint shops and historical sites near by.

My husband and I had to push off our wedding celebration due to covid so we ended up having to plan our wedding celebration multiple times and switch dates. Allie Hobbs the event coordinator at The Tides was extremely accommodating and helped us have the most AMAZING event we could have imagined! We had friends and family come from all over the country and everyone had such a wonderful weekend. The staff, the food, accommodations, weather and views could not have been better! Highly recommend this venue!

No, we require that all food and beverage be provided by the Tides Inn.

Yes, valet parking is available for guests that are staying at the Tides Inn. For groups that do not have majority of their guests staying on property, we require those staying off property be shuttled in.

Yes, our facilities are wheelchair accessible.

Set up and clean up of items provided by the Tides Inn, tables, chairs, china, flatware, glassware, and linens. Upgrades for chairs and linens are available at an additional cost.

Your reservation includes spaces set up 2 hours prior to the event start time. Rentals are based on a 30 minute ceremony, 1 hour cocktail hour and 4 hour reception. Additional hours can be added at a rate of $200.00 per hour.

Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. Cancellation policies vary, but typically 90% - 100% of the estimated amount is due in the event of cancellation.

The Tides Inn is located 1.5 hours from Richmond International, 3.5 hours from Washington D.C., and 2.5 hours from Norfolk International.

Yes, we require couples add the Tides Inn as an additional insured on their homeowners policy. We also accept insurance from other vendors that provide event insurance. We require you to be covered for up to $500,000.00
