With high ceilings and white washed brick walls, the sun-filled room features original tile floors, dating back to the early 1900s. Antique long leaf heart pine, sourced from the Hudson Company and estimated to be between 300 and 600 years old, is repurposed for walls, tabletops and the uniquely designed bar with wrap-around seating. Lempert, inspired by 18th century scientific botanical engravings, collaborated with Flavor Paper to design wallpaper featuring the namesake Meadowsweet herb, and it’s seen throughout the restaurant in various iterations. Her photos, taken on the family’s property upstate, feature plants, vegetables and herbs and are also found throughout the restaurant. Bringing life to the space, a lofted mezzanine herb garden above the bar, which was created in collaboration with Brooklyn Grange, overlooks the dining room and features fresh rosemary, lemon thyme and mint, among others, used for cocktails.

The main feature of the space is the large circular bar with 40 taps behind it and a big circular window that overlooks our production space. On tap we have a large selection of our cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), local beers, spirits and wine. There are 2 restrooms. FringeArts is a unique venue in Old City with two versatile spaces that can be rented separately or together, based on the couple’s vision. Most often the spaces are rented together. Our restaurant can seat 80 or host a standing cocktail reception for 150. FringeArts can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated dinner in their space. The two spaces are separated by a moveable air wall. We can host a ceremony and cocktail hour in the restaurant and in Haas Biergarten right outside, and then open the wall to reveal a dining room space in the FringeArts theater. After dinner, head back out to the main bar and hit up the dance floor, or head outside to Haas Biergarten. Outside we have a bar that is operational May-October, lawn games, fire pits, and a great view of the Ben Franklin Bridge!

Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803-1811 when need arose of a larger Meeting House in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. It is frequently rented for conferences, weddings, dinners, and graduations. The building sits on just shy of 2 acres, and our grounds include both grassy & brick spaces and lots of mature trees.
