Capturing the real unforgettable moment on your wedding day is a privilege I take very seriously. I will be there to support you through the entire wedding process and then fist pump along side you on the dance floor. My main goal is to provide you with an incredible experience. A quick background about me, I am a born and raised Maryland girl. I am married to the love of my life, we have two beautiful daughters and two sweet pups! When I'm not photographing I'm usually paddle boarding, cooking, or going to amusement parks with my family. I cannot wait to capture your most precious memories that will last a life time!

I was so pleased with the quality of Jessi’s work when it came to my wedding day. Not only did she capture our special day perfectly, but she also took the time to talk on the phone with me a few times prior to the day of my wedding to answer questions I had about the day of. I also appreciated how prompt she was with editing and sending us our completed photos. Jessi is also very easy to work with, she is empathetic and it is clear how much care she puts into her work, she’s just the best!

Hey there, folks! So, I've been known to dabble in this little thing called photography, or as some like to eloquently put it, playing around with a "time-freezing device" also known as a camera. But don't worry, I promise I actually know how to use one! My journey into the world of photography began back in my college days. I spent countless nights diving into the world of photography, learning everything I could find on YouTube Academy of Photography (if that were an actual thing). If you're in the market for a self-taught, hard-working, humble photographer, then I think I'm your person.

Everything about working with Marcus is LOVELY — from the first phone call, to our engagement photos, to our elopement photos. I was initially anxious about hiring a photographer, especially since (1) I had no idea where to start and (2) we were eloping so these were going to be *the* thing to mark the day. He was my first phone call and within 5 minutes of talking to him I was sold. I only had two broad (vague) ideas for what I wanted and he took them and turned them into plans I could be excited about. Ultimately, our engagement photos involved a last minute location change and our elopement photos ended up needing a schedule change. Marcus was nothing but responsive and encouraging through everything. He was ready with new ideas and managed to keep me excited when I'd have otherwise been really stressed. I’m not sure anyone else would have been so flexible while also staying so warm and kind. And of course, the photos are gorgeous. He manages to talk to you and make you laugh and feel like you’re just hanging out while also capturing a thousand (literally) photos. The last time my husband or I had professional photos taken we were probably in high school, but Marcus was a pro at making us feel comfortable. His eye is great and he sees things we’d have never thought of, to beautiful results. I’ve already told my husband when we need photos for anything in the future, we’re calling Marcus. 12/10 recommend. Giving him glowing reviews is going to be my new hobby, and if you work with him it’ll be yours too.

Booking Alli as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made wedding planning!! From creating a fully comprehensive timeline of the day, putting together a collage of Pinterest inspiration photos to know exactly what we wanted, scouting out photo locations at our venue the day before the wedding, making everyone feel comfortable and confident on the day of, and truly just working with efficiency, skill, and professionalism. Alli and Josh truly went above and beyond and we are so grateful for them!! Our friends, family, bridal party and everyone involved agreed that the Mannixco was the best overall photographer that any of us have ever worked with! One of our groomsmen said, “a lot of people with a good camera can take a good photo, but not everyone can be a great photographer like Alli”!! If you want beautiful wedding photos and a photographer who knows what they’re doing but feels like a friend at your wedding, I 100% would recommend the Mannixco to anyone!!

Working with J. Roman was a dream! We won an engagement shoot with J and quickly knew we wanted him as our wedding photographer after an engagement shoot that was so fun! He delivered hundreds of photos that we loved. His range is amazing; from moody and dark, to vintage and chic, to glam and bright, all the versions of photography you crave for your big day, J covers! We were open to J's eye when it came to moments and he worked seamlessly on our big day--him or his team never felt intrusive to a special moment. The raw emotion of the wedding day was captured so beautifully-we get to relive such a momentous day over and over through his art. He was incredibly professional, was very easy to work with and was so helpful in planning. J has delivered amazing results: 2500 photos for our wedding, which we received in exactly 3 weeks. We received the first short video within 4 weeks of the wedding as well for his photography and videography package. So grateful that we booked with J Roman and would recommend his over and over again!

Darcy Troutman Photography

Are you tired of scrolling through wedding websites full of photos of shoes/calligraphy/earrings/etc. and wondering where the people are? Do you love moments more than things? If yes, you're in the right place. Forget about the table settings, instead embrace spontaneous joy and honest, natural moments.

Darcy was an absolute pleasure to work with and we LOVE our photos. She truly captured the emotions of the day and the essence of all the people we love the most. Any time i look at our photos, i find myself involuntarily smiling. She captured the classic posed photos AND the precious in-between moments where people are being their most authentic selves (the face my dad makes when he's really intently listening, the hand gestures my mom uses when she's explaining something and can't find the right words, the face my mother in law makes when she's cracking herself up, the face my father in law makes right before the tears fall, and so so many more). Not ONLY are her photos amazing, but she made us feel so relaxed on the day-of. Her style is totally unobtrusive, which is just what we needed. Darcy got such amazing photos of all our guests we put 4x6" prints in our thank you cards and people were SO appreciative. She's on fridges across America. Comments we've gotten in response to Darcy's photos: "WOW your photographer is phenomenal", "this is the best photo of us in existence", "you guys look so happy!", "I feel like the photographer really captured your personalities" If capturing joy is important to you, hire Darcy. My only regret is getting her for 7 hours instead of 9.

Hello! We're Ashley and Justin of The Bere Collective and we're glad you found us! We've been a romantic pair for over 11 years and we have photographed weddings together for eight years. In 2017 we eloped to Juneau, Alaska and made our union official. We are a queer wife & husband photography team that are both proudly vegan and LGBTQIA+ affirming. We do a combination of digital and film photography, including instant film photos with a polaroid land camera from the 1960's and 35mm black & white film. We adore couples that are madly in love, lush fresh florals, and venues with gorgeous natural light.

Awarded Best of Zola
Ashley and Justin are incredibly professional, very easy to work with, and just all around great people. The thing I cared about most on my wedding day was getting quality photos that I would cherish for the rest of my life, and they certainly delivered! The day was pretty far from traditional, but they were accommodating all the way. At first I was a bit worried about bringing photographers to a tattoo parlor to take photos of us getting our rings tattooed, but they were so cool about it and the photos turned out amazing! After the tattoo shop they followed us to the (very small) ceremony, and then to a third location just to take photos of my husband I. I'm not very comfortable in front of the camera, but they were able to capture spectacular candid shots, and in the posed photos, provide direction that helped me feel like a proper model. 10/10 would recommend, especially if you're any type of alternative.

Meet Katelyn, the visionary behind the lens, the master of capturing love stories; and a true artist with an impeccable eye for detail, an innate ability to freeze time, and the unique gift of encapsulating the raw emotions, intimate moments, and cherished memories that make weddings so extraordinary. From a young age, she discovered the power of storytelling through her mom's scrap books and National Geographic magazines, sparking an undying fascination with capturing the essence of life's most profound moments. She studies under renowned photographers, soaking up their wisdom and honing her own unique style; authentic photojournalism.

Awarded Best of Zola
Choosing Katelyn as our wedding photographer was undoubtedly one of the easiest and best decisions we made for our wedding day! We had the pleasure of seeing her work firsthand at a friend's wedding, with who knows how many cameras strapped on! Seeing her attention to detail firsthand and the beautiful quality of our friends photos, she was first on our list for a consultation. From our first call, Katelyn embraced our vision with enthusiasm and professionalism. We knew we wanted a documentary-style photographer with the option of film photos (we loved that Katelyn includes these already) who could capture the genuine emotions and candid moments of our wedding with our lively group, and Katelyn delivered! Despite our initial nervousness about being in front of the camera, Katelyn made us feel incredibly comfortable. Having an engagement shoot beforehand was a great practice run, she has an incredible talent for putting people at ease, and this truly shines through in the photos. We have never felt so photogenic! Our album turned out better than we could have dreamed up. It is truly reflective of us and our day. Complete with details of my treasured Kirkland sweatpants on the way to our venue contrasted with my dress glam Katelyn’s commitment to us was truly exceptional as she had a family loss shortly before our wedding. It would have been more than understandable for her to need more time away or to find us a replacement. Despite this, Katelyn remained fully committed to capturing our day and we are so so grateful. Her dedication and professionalism during such a difficult time speaks volumes about her passion for her work and for her clients. Katelyn is a true artist and an amazing person. Her work exceeded all our expectations, and we feel so fortunate to have had her as part of our wedding team. The only question we have is how early is too early for a vow renewal so we can hire her again!

Working with Jaye was an absolutely a blessing. My husband and I both enjoyed working with her. She made us feel very comfortable and we had lots of fun taking our engagement pictures and wedding photos. ALLL of my photos came out great! My mother and mother in law loved them. Jaye even worked with me on my Thank You cards which were a absolute hit!. Professionalism is awesome she kept in touch not only with me but also my coordinators. She shocked me by being at my wedding rehearsal to see how things were going to go, where she could stand and where she would be able to get good pictures, in which I really appreciated! I plan on working with Ms. Jaye more within the future. Also my photo album is gorgeous and the video was clear and the editing was great!

I began my career a decade ago. As a tour photographer, I began accompanying musicians all over the world. Little did I know at that point the low lights, high energy, and late nights would translate well into my career as a wedding photographer. My start as a music photographer gave me the confidence to navigate even the most challenging and unpredictable situations, and I use the same philosophy now while photographing weddings: keep calm, stay observant, and follow the action.

We are so thrilled that we managed to book Jess for our engagement photos and wedding! Beautiful photography was a priority for us, and we wanted our photos to have a genuine, documentary style feel. We wanted the photos to capture the real beauty of the day, without being too heavily edited (we hate the photographers who made everything look pastel!). Jessica was completely in line with our style. My husband and I aren’t naturals in front of the camera, but Jessica made us feel so at ease. We were never uncomfortable with Jessica, and she felt like a natural part of the day. Jessica’s photos speak for themselves. She is able to create stunning visuals, but most impressively, Jess captures emotion in all of her photographs. At our wedding, Jessica and her assistant Kat were always present, but never intrusive. I feel like she is a photography ninja—I don’t even remember seeing her at certain moments, and yet there are beautiful photos of everything. No detail or moment was missed. From the day we worked with Jess on our engagement photos, we knew we were in more than capable hands. I am so impressed with Jessica’s ability to find unique spaces and framing for our photos—some of my favorite photos are in front of everyday places, but with Jessica’s eye they are turned into beautiful works of art. Because she did such a fantastic job with our engagement photos, we had no worries at all on our wedding day. One of Jess’ strengths is her background working as a photographer on music tours. Put her in any type of lighting or setting, and she has the technical skills and experience to create something amazing. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Jess’ professionalism—she is always early and is kind to everyone she interacts with. She is so passionate and excited about her work. Her calm, unflappable attitude made her a pleasure to be around on our wedding day. Her enthusiasm for her work is evident. She's also incredibly hardworking at every stage of the process. Jessica was able to edit our photos and got them back to us within 6 days of our wedding—that is unheard of! We love Jess and are so impressed by her! She is beyond talented and her stunning work will let us relive our wedding day whenever we want. All of our photos were fantastic—it’s hard to narrow down even our top 100 photos. We can’t thank Jess enough for capturing the joy we felt on our wedding day. I’m truly sad that our time working together is over. Jess was easily one of our favorite vendors, and we wish her all the best as she continues to grow her business! We would enthusiastically recommend that you hire Jessica for all your photography needs. Update-- My husband and I were lucky to hire Jessica again about a year after our wedding to shoot some photos of us and our new puppy. As expected, the photos came out beautifully and were delivered to us quickly!

Bring on all the joy, laughter, tears, letting go and holding close. I want to capture these connections, so that you can have photos to hold in your hand and remind you what it felt like the day you were married. You deserve to celebrate without feeling as if you are on a daylong photoshoot — I will help you to really live your wedding day. Let's live your life celebrations and let go of “supposed to do.” If you find yourself craving a wedding day experience that is more enjoying the day and less about all day posing, you are in the right spot.

Hiring Kelly was absolutely one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding and we can’t recommend her highly enough. She spent so much time getting to know us before the wedding, and our photos very clearly reflect her attention to capturing what was important to us. We really wanted to see the joy and breadth of emotions of the day and wanted photos that reflected our wedding as vibrant and loving, and that shines through in every photo!! Kelly is also so personable and brings such a wonderful energy to all parts of the process which made us feel so comfortable and so happy to have her with us! In addition to creating a photography schedule that was invaluable and that we shaped the rest of the schedule around, she made sure to note people’s accessibility needs and to work with us closely on comfort for everyone as we had a lot of access needs. She answered every question we had happily and was just such a wonderful part of our day!! She also did our engagement photos at Great Falls and they turned out just so gorgeous. I had a lot of anxiety about how I would feel about the photos as a plus size bride and Kelly listened to my concerns and made me so comfortable and I’m so so thrilled with the photos and feel gorgeous in all of them, which I'm very grateful for!

Natasha Lamalle Photography

Washington, DC

The best way to tell honest stories is through keen observation. How do I know? Because I spent 15 years as a journalist before becoming a wedding photographer. By paying attention to the ways you interact with your loved ones, I capture the in-between moments that will, one day, be significant. And using a trained eye and subtle approach, I do so unobtrusively.

Awarded Best of Zola
My wife and I were searching for a photographer who could capture our wedding as it really was, from the intimate moments to the wild dance floor, and Natasha's documentary-style fit our needs exactly! She listened carefully to what we wanted - minimal posed pictures, non-traditional "first look", lots of candids, etc - and she more than delivered. We had 130 guest count and Natasha covered basically every inch of our wedding day, no need or want for a second shooter. She was everywhere and so stealthy that we didn't realize she was so close to us the whole night until we got our pictures back. Our ceremony was outside and dinner/dancing were inside, and regardless of the lighting, the pictures turned out perfectly, she was even able to capture non-blurry pictures of guests jamming on a packed dance floor! She was a pleasure to work with, the instructions of her process were easy to follow from start to finish, and had a lot of examples to look through which gave us a good idea of what we were getting. We especially appreciated that she sent us a few pictures the morning after our wedding as a sneak peek, very nice touch. She's genuinely kind and calm which helped us remain present during our wedding day. Everyone who has seen our photos are amazed by the quality and we are too. We're thrilled we picked Natasha and highly recommend her!

PAPERBOYS

5.0

Fredericksburg, VA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,995
  • Serves Barton, MD

Paperboys is a boutique wedding film/photo agency located on the ‘skirtz of Washington D.C. We started down this regal road in 2014 and we have the mountain of harddrives to prove it! We’re a collaborative team of filmmakers and photographers who live for making amazing things for the world’s most friggin’ amazing couples. When we started this business on a wing and a prayer, we quickly realized that working alone is not a ton of fun - some would say, it’s for the birds. So, we grew our team and that’s when things really started to come to life.

Hiring Nate with the Paperboys team might have been the best decision we made during our entire wedding planning process. My husband and I are (very picky) creatives by nature and trade so we knew that we wanted to be very intentional about our choice of photographer for our special day. Our venue was a historic hotel that requires you to work with one of their select partners, something we initially were a little hesitant about due to its inherent limitations. Most partners listed had very technically beautiful photos but nothing that excited us creatively. Until we saw their most recent partner addition: Paperboys. We loved the playfulness, talent, and imagination that was deeply valued with the team and quickly connected with our photographer Nate both creatively and socially. It was apparent that he truly loved his craft and was easy to communicate our vision with, always making sure to ask helpful questions and take the time to study our provided resource materials. Without prompting or extra charge, he also opted to bring his own film camera to snap some artsy film shots on the actual day, an above and beyond move that shows how much he genuinely just loves what he does. The finished photos absolutely exceeded expectations. His signature style we loved shone through while also managing to capture the exact essence of what we were hoping for stylistically. And as someone who specifically struggles with body confidence and anxiety, he was able to make me feel safe by providing a calm presence and plenty of posing guidance. This allowed me to truly just exist and enjoy the day, which is something I genuinely wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to manage, and therefore the most wonderful gift in and of itself. TLDR: Just hire Paperboys already and thank me later! You’re welcome.

We are Victoria & Hunter, a married photography & videography duo. Our style is simple and organic, capturing your real emotions & personalities in artful imagery. We currently call Maryland home and love traveling across states, borders, & seas to tell your story. We believe that life is best enjoyed with others, so drop us a line and let’s be friends! *Please contact us directly through our website.

I've grown up in the wedding industry, spending over 20 years learning the ins and outs. Victoria is the absolute most empathetic, kind, thoughtful person I've met in the wedding industry and quite possibly on this earth. From the beginning, she was helpful, sincere, and hysterical as we planned out our engagement shoot and wedding logistics. Whether it a package of homemade soap or inspiration emails, she was a more personalized and wonderful version of Pinterest. When it came to our wedding day, she was able to navigate my large, blended family, nail every shot IN THE RAIN, all the while telling corny jokes, and dancing the night away. I truly felt like I had an old friend with me throughout the entire experience. Her second shooter, Hunter, is her photography (and real life! ) soulmate. As a married couple, they work so incredibly well together and are able to capture the most beautiful moments. Hunter was amazing with the groomsmen, making everyone feel comfortable and natural. Plus, he has great taste in music! Victoria sent our entire wedding pictures, completely edited, in record time. She knows how to capture and highlight every moment genuinely. Finally, a few months after our wedding, my younger brother passed away. Victoria dug up some old photos of him and sent them our way. I've never met anyone as thoughtful as her, truly. This was the easiest and best decision of my wedding planning. Forever thankful for you, Victoria!

Hello, congratulations on your engagement! So happy you've found me! Weddings are such a special time for you, the newly engaged couple and all of your family & friends. I want to celebrate your love and make it so you can relive it for years and years to come! I want you to see yourselves shining through your photos and not me, the photographer. I want you to be comfortable and completely relaxed for your whole wedding day. I promise to keep things fun, upbeat, and sometimes more important I promise to capture every little detail but still make sure that you enjoy every part of the day that you have worked so very hard to create!

Awarded Best of Zola
The best decision I made for our wedding was hiring Ashlee as our photographer! She got back to my emails quickly and communicated well throughout the time leading up to our wedding. Our pictures were the most important part for me. I was 100% confident in my decision simply from our engagement pictures Ashlee took. She actually got my husband to loosen up, smile, and have fun while taking pictures. Our wedding day was no different. She had us laughing and playing around, and she truly captured our love and fun. The entire wedding party and our parents kept saying how amazing Ashlee and her second photographer, Taylor, were. They both worked so well together and with our party. They captured all the groups of people I wanted, and all of the other images I wanted as well, such as the details of everything I made for the wedding (flowers, centerpieces, signs) and specific shots of us around the venue. Ashlee even captured moments I had no idea she was there for which I love. We got our pictures back really fast. All of them are gorgeous. I can't stop looking at them! They aren't just staged poses. They're fun, loving, and most importantly, real. Ashlee's pictures show your true personality and capture the moments you never want to forget for the rest of your lives. I can relive every part of that day thanks to Ashlee and her incredible photography. It'll be the best decision you make, too!
