“My wife and I had Lou DJ our upstate wedding and it was more than we could have dreamed of. From the beginning, he was nothing but professional. He met with us multiple times prior to the event to go over music selection, flow of the ceremony day etc. His website was very easy to use and allowed us to have a large role in our music selection for the day, even for the reception dance portion. Everything was reviewed at least 3 times to ensure there were no hiccups, and also to make sure we wouldn't have to worry about anything on the ceremony day. On the day, Lou came in very early to setup and his equipment was extremely unobtrusive and sounded amazing. From the ceremony to reception (and especially cocktail hour), the sound was fantastic and there was not a single hiccup (even with an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour!). “Justin and Jesse were absolutely incredible from the beginning to the end of the process. We stumbled upon them through Zola, actually, and I’m so glad we did. Our wedding was intentionally more laid-back, taking place on our property. It was incredibly important to us to every guest felt at home there, and that every vendor did as well. From the moment I first spoke with Justin, I could tell we found the perfect folks to play music for us! These guys are wonderfully easy to talk to, truly down to earth and play an impressive range of music sooooo well. For cocktail hour we asked them to do more southern, New Orleans style jazz which they did fantastically: perched on one of the hills facing the cocktail hour, they played keyboard and saxophone and really understood exactly the mood we were trying to set. Not fussy, rather relaxed and engaging and perfect for the day. During dinner, they played bluegrass under the tent and it was absolutely perfect. I had chosen the bluegrass and my husband chose cocktail hour music, and we were both over the moon at how it went. Justin stayed on to DJ our dance party and was an absolutely wonderful MC as well as just a fantastic party guest! “Kevin is AMAZING!!! He DJed our wedding celebration in May 2024, and WOW - he was 100000% our dream DJ. We had eloped a year earlier, so our "vision" for the night was to have an epic dance party with all of our friends - Kevin understood this immediately, and delivered truly beyond our wildest imagination! He kept the vibes moving during cocktail hour, and then seriously BROUGHT THE PARTY. The dancefloor was packed for over 3 hours straight. It felt like every single person there asked us where we had found our DJ, and they couldn't believe the mixes he was doing on the fly!! From the moment I first reached out to him in January right up until the end of the event, Kevin was consistently professional, upbeat, and efficient. He replied to all communication quickly, and was SO thoughtful in his preparation. He provided a shared document months ahead of time so that we could share music and scheduling info, and on the night of the event it was so evident that he had paid attention to every single detail ever mentioned in the document, over Zoom, or on our site visit. Every single must-play song came on at the perfect time, he managed to source very specific remixes that I had mentioned, and he kept the night running on schedule with such a chill, stress-free, and adaptable vibe. Kevin even introduced us to his colleague Richie for dance lights when we were debating our lighting options, which also ended up being absolutely perfect! I first heard Gerald play at a friends rehearsal dinner (sadly after I already hired my wedding band), and knew immediately I needed to hire him for my rehearsal/ wedding welcome drinks. “If there’s one thing you should take away from this review, it is this - You should DEFINITELY hire Herbert Holler to DJ your wedding! From the very first phone call, it was obvious that he is someone who loves his job. He has an extensive knowledge and love of music means no matter what you want the soundtrack of your wedding or event to be, he’s got you and your guests of ALL ages covered. He was communicative, easy to work with, clearly invested in making sure we had a great time at our wedding, and that everything ran as smoothly as possible. In fact, at one point, he noticed from behind the booth that we were one man short for lifting someone up in the chair during our extensive Hora. So what did he do? He put his headphones down, ran onto the dance floor, and kept the party going! We interviewed over 20 bands from the NYC area and decided to go with Vitamin M after really vibing with their band leader, JJ. And boy are we glad we did!
