Troy and Isabella met in highschool, and while they may not technically be “high school sweethearts”, they only missed it by a few months. Following a semester of texting, skyping, and becoming really good friends, there was a New Years Eve party during the winter break of their freshman year of college - and after a night of flirting, Troy landed his big pick-up line, and Isabella was obviously charmed. They spent the rest of the night laughing and talking together (okay, maybe there were a few kisses). Now, here we are a whole DECADE later: years of living apart, facing veterinary school, surviving a global pandemic, moving all over the country, and yet Isabella is still just as blown away by Troy’s pick-up lines. Troy finally proposed to Isabella in Barcelona, Spain at the crack-of-dawn in front of La Sagrada Familia. Just seconds before the big moment, Troy had to kick a pile of dog poo aside so he wouldn't kneel in it, and our first “Congratulations!” was from a homeless spanish man who had been standing nearby watching our photoshoot. And it couldn’t have been more perfect. We cannot wait to celebrate our love and life together with all of you!
How did you first meet? We met in high school after Troy moved to Clayton before our junior year! Who made the first move? How? Who SAID the first ‘line’? Troy … but, the more important question is: Who flirted until she got him to say something? Isabella What's your most memorable date? Why? Bell’s Choice: For our first real date, Troy took me to a Luke Bryan concert at the outdoor amphitheater in Saint Louis. If anyone knows anything about Troy, it’s that he detests country music. It was then and there, that I knew he was a keeper. Troy’s Choice: During our sophomore year of college, Bell flew to Ann Arbor for my fraternity formal in Windsor, Canada. We dressed in our finest clothes, Bell had to tie about 25 different clueless guys’ ties, and we had a blast in Canada’s trashiest city. What is your favorite activity together? Bells Choice: Watching a movie and building Lego sets! Troy’s Choice: It’s no secret that I love a night in, so I would say binging a TV show and playing some trivial pursuit or building lego sets. A late night walk to Little Man Ice Cream in Denver is also a must. What is the best meal you have eaten together? Bell’s Choice: One of the ‘booths’ in the Mercato Centrale in Florence, Italy has the BEST sandwich - just the most fresh focaccia, meat, and cheese you’ve ever had. Really, it can’t get better than that. Troy’s Choice: The first time Bell visited Troy’s family in San Diego, he introduced her to “real” Mexican food. California burritos from La Perla, rolled tacos from Ramiros, and a quesadilla from Taco Surf - all enjoyed on plastic trays by the beach. What is the most memorable trip you have taken together? Bell’s Choice: Obviously our trip to Europe when Troy proposed in Spain! Troy’s Choice: No trip is more memorable to me than our trip to Europe this summer.
