We started talking via Facebook after kind of being set up by a mutual friend. We eventually got together for a late lunch at a local Panera. We ate and talked...and talked some more, for what seemed like hardly any time at all. It wasn't until we noticed an employee vacuuming nearby that we wondered the time. When we asked when they closed, they said "15 minutes ago"! We had quite literally been talking for hours and only left because they closed. We met again for archery in the mountains and the rest is well, history!

In May of 2022, Mike and Sarah attended their first Beltane celebration in the East Mountains of Albuquerque. The energy was magical and intense. They had been dating for only about 4 months, but Sarah just knew Michael was THE ONE. There were many moments where it just felt perfect, but the night of the main ritual after jumping the bale fire, while snuggling in their tent, she just couldn't contain it and asked him. He didn't say yes, but he didn't say no. She was determined. She warned him that this would be a "Johnny and June" kind of thing and she would keep asking, which she did several more times over the next 5 months. Finally one random night in October, Michael was overcome with the feeling that he could not see a future without Sarah in it. He sent a few sappy messages with his usual level of silly cuteness before going to see Sarah to get ready for a family camping trip. When he arrived, he pulled her into the garage and just said "yes". It took a moment for her to understand, but once she did, it was met with tears of joy, as he finally said YES! They were officially engaged 10/12/2022! And yes, SHE popped the question!
