Again and we can’t stress this enough: it will be hot, especially during the day. Make sure you bring appropriate clothes and plan any strenuous outside activity for the early mornings. Stay hydrated.
Dress code - there isn’t one! Wear black, wear white, wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Given that it will be hot, being summer in Portugal and all, we suggest you choose lighter fabrics - cotton, linen, summer wool (it’s a thing, whatever Giles says!), silk, etc. Bring your swimming costume. Wear comfortable shoes. Speaking of which, the only exceptions to the no dress code are: no Crocs and no Birkenstocks.
There will be makeup and hair services available to guests Email palermaswedding2023@gmail.com if you are interested so we can organise the slots (you can also reply to this on the "RSVP" page, at the link down below).
There will be babysitting available for kids - in English and Portuguese. Please email palermaswedding2023@gmail.com if you are interested so we can make sure our little guests are entertained and happy (you can also reply to this on the "RSVP" page, at the link down below).
The hotel staff are (Sara feels it should be “is”, but Giles pulled the “who’s the native speaker here?” card) completely fluent in English so you’ll have no problems but there will also be translation available - to access it, in case you find yourself wanting to talk with someone that doesn’t speak English or Portuguese, just grab the nearest person and ask them to translate.
Services expected from guests - if someone asks you to translate and you know how to, you have to. It’s the rules.
Brush up your Punic Wars and obscure sci-fi knowledge. There will for sure be occasion to discuss it, unless the bride and groom stay sober.
And we think that’s it Sara was once admonished in strong words by a manager (hi Darrin) to stop writing like everything is a bloody novel so brevity is what she’s aiming for now.
