Officially it is "barn formal" - this is a semi-formal event on the premises of a farm and barn. Please wear comfortable shoes for the grass and wooden floors. Ladies, we highly recommend no thin stilettos as they will go right through the grass and, although the reception will be inside a barn on wood floors, walking to and from the ceremony will be on grass. We also want you to dance and bring shoes (1 or 2 pairs) to embrace the harvest moon dancing. As for the weather, it is upstate New York, we expect drier Fall weather in the 70's (F), but it could go down to the 60's(F) or up to the 80's(F) and rain showers are always a possibility. Be prepared with a light jacket or shawl. Also, with a harvest 'full' moon, we invite you to embrace the incoming autumnal equinox and an early moon rise shortly after the sunset!
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! If you need to bring your child, let us know and we'll make sure to work it out.

Great! We love the Hudson Valley Region and enjoy sharing this place with our family and friends. If you have a car, drive up Friday and enjoy a relaxing night and plan an activity for Saturday morning (further info under the Things to Do tab). If you do not have a car, hop on the bus departing from Penn Station in Manhattan on Saturday morning at 10:00am (further info under the Travel and Stay tab). Walking the grounds, the wedding ceremony, and the reception will take place on Saturday afternoon and evening (it's a beautiful venue!). Then either stay and join us for the hike at Kaaterskill Falls on Sunday or plan your own activity for the day.
Just let us know! If you are staying at any of the accommodations that we suggested, the bus to and from Penn Station and the shuttle to and from the wedding are provided (further info under the Schedule and Travel and Stay tabs). If you are staying at another location, let us know and we will arrange the shuttle to pick you up prior to the wedding and return you to your lodging.
We recommend that you do NOT drive to The Kaaterskill for the ceremony and reception. We are providing shuttle transportation for all guests, whether you are staying at our suggested lodges or a place of your choosing. Alcohol will be served throughout the event. You will be leaving during the night, and these country roads are dark and winding. Our number one concern is for the safety of our guests and we recommend using the shuttles.
The Kaaterskill has llamas, alpacas, miniature horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, a peacock, and chickens. And remember, we are providing vanilla wafers for you to feed the animals if you choose to do so. Follow this link to learn more about the animals: https://thekaaterskill.com/tribe/
Please just reach out to us with any questions you have! We understand that there are many moving parts to this wedding. We apologize if any portion was unclear, let us know and we will clarify it!
