Wedding planning in times of uncertainty is no joke! It's been a crazy year. There are a lot of unknown variables, especially with the rising cases of the Delta variant. Knowing whether you're planning on being vaccinated will give us one known variable that we can work with as we ensure we're aligned with state and CDC guidelines. No judgements, we're just number crunching. Feel free to decline to answer if you are not comfortable. We just want to have the most data as possible to make everyone feel safe.
Short answer, no. This is a 21 and up adventure. While we love your children, we want the adults to have some adult only time. You're welcome to bring them to Traverse City with you and we can recommend some excellent babysitters, but they are not invited and will not be allowed at the reception. The only minors allowed at the reception are Marcus's niblings (gender neutral plural for nieces and nephews, look it up; you're welcome) and they will be leaving shortly after dinner.
We hope you can join us for the entire weekend starting the morning of Friday, October 16th. We know most to all of you will be traveling and we want to make this as much of a vacation weekend for you as a wedding weekend for us. We'll have events Friday morning with Marcus and Brandon - separately and together. See the schedule page. The reception dominates most of Saturday, but we'll be going out to brunch on Sunday. Please join us for as much as you can!
There will be a private, immediate family only ceremony. Marcus has a massive family and neither Brandon nor Marcus are religious, so they'll be spending the ceremony time with their newly joined families.
Yes. Yes it will. Social hour with beer and wine only until dinner at 5, then liquor and shenanigans. It's a marathon people.
The reception is currently scheduled indoors, but may change based on Michigan Covid guidelines. Check your emails for updates.
There is a shuttle starting at 3 pm to take you all from the parking lot in the TBAISD to the Barns - there is not parking lot immediately at the event. We know it's a long reception but we did that because we want to see as many of you for as long as possible. Please see the Schedule tab.
Do not park in front of the venue. Parking is limited and we will be in trouble if you do. There will be a shuttle for people to park by the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District (TBA ISD) and take you to the venue.
We're going for upscale cocktail hour vibe. Look as fancy as you want - just don't wear jeans (you will be mocked and forced to macarena if you show up in jeans). Make sure you're comfortable and can dance in whatever you wear!
YES YES YES. We're working with a local chef and good friend of Marcus's brother-in-law (Alan)! It will be a BBQ style buffet. The chef's partner is a vegan, and we are working out vegan and vegetarian options as well as dairy and gluten free. For those with food issues like Marcus, we will be as accommodating as possible. If you have any explicit allergies, please let Marcus know (deloney.m@gmail.com). We will accommodate.
Yes it is. Though we recommend you drop off the handicapable individuals off at the venue, then go park the car, and shuttle back. If you need assistance, please contact Marcus (deloney.m@gmail.com) before the reception to coordinate.
We ask you please RSVP by August 16st, 2021.
Current state and CDC guidelines do not require vaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors, and we will not be requiring guests to wear masks. If you are more comfortable, you are welcome to wear a mask.
