FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like in Tampa in the month of February?

Answer

Most days are warm and dry. Tampa averages a daily maximum temperature for February that's between 70 and 76 degrees Fahrenheit. The minimum temperature usually falls between 51 and 58 °F. February is also great because it’s not time for Spring Break and it’s not hurricane season. Instead you get small crowds and generally great weather. The sometimes-scorching heat of summer is still months away but you can still wear shorts or cropped pants and t-shirts and be very comfortable.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. Semi-formal attire is an outfit that is dressier than what you'd wear to an office, but not as dressy as a formal evening gown or tuxedo. For men— Think blazers with matching trousers, two-piece suits (with or without the tie), pocket squares and dress watches, and you’re heading in the right direction. For ladies— This may include dresses, separates, or a pantsuit in a dressy fabric, such as silk, cashmere, or satin. A dress or nice suit with a dressy top, with heels, strappy sandals, flats, or dress shoes may also be worn.

Question

Can I bring a guest to the wedding?

Answer

Everyone that received a plus one was notified with the words "and guest" on their invitation. If there are extenuating circumstances or someone was overlooked please reach out to the bride and she will work with you.

Question

Are children allowed at the wedding?

Answer

Due to the venue size and limited seating, we ask that you do not bring your children to the wedding. The only exception is immediate family and the wedding party.

Question

Will guests have assigned seats at the reception?

Answer

Every guest will have an assigned table that they will learn about at the reception, but may sit where they like at that table.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

A complimentary shuttle service will take you from the hotel to the venue, and vice versa. Details will be provided as we move closer to the wedding date. The hotel also provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. Details can be found under the “Travel” tab.

Question

Is there a pool at the main hotel?

Answer

Bring your swimsuits! The Westshore Grand has an outdoor pool on the rooftop that is heated and open year-round. Weather in February is usually in the 70’s, but it could also be in the low 80’s. Most days are sunny and dry.

Question

Can I book a suite at the hotel instead of a standard room?

Answer

The Westshore Grand has Junior Suites available for those who wish to stay in a larger room. These are not available to book online, but if you call the hotel they can upgrade your room at our discounted rate. Be sure to visit the “Travel” page for information on how to book.

Question

Do I have to stay at the Westshore Grand hotel?

Answer

You do not have to book a room at the hotel(s) provided. You can stay at any hotel of your choice, or use Air BNB or VRBO if you would like. If you do choose to stay elsewhere, you will be responsible for transportation to and from the venue. The venue is outside of Tampa city limits, in Thonotosassa, which is a more rural area. Please keep this in mind if you plan on using a car service like Uber or Lyft for transportation, noting that availability may be limited.

Question

How far away is the hotel from the venue?

Answer

The Westshore Grand is 22 miles away from Southern Streams Ranch. In normal conditions, the drive time is around 35 minutes. With Friday traffic and /or construction, the drive time can increase substantially. For those who are not using the shuttle to transport you from the wedding to the venue and back, please keep these things in mind and allow ample time to get to and from the venue.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Formal invitations will arrive in October with a postcard RSVP to mail back. You can also RSVP on this webpage. For those of you who already know that you absolutely will or absolutely will not be able to attend, please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can give an accurate guest count to the venue, caterer, and for transportation.

Question

What if I have questions or need help with something on the day of the wedding?

Answer

Do NOT reach out to the bride or groom on the day of their wedding for any personal questions or assistance. It will already be a hectic day and we do not want to add any more stress to the happy couple. If you need anything or have any questions, please reach out to the Matron of Honor (Kimmie) or Best Man (Chaz) for any answers or assistance.
