Our story started when Joe traveled to Pittsburgh to visit friends and watch the 2016 U.S. Open, held at Oakmont Country Club. As any good millennial would do, he was on the Bumble dating app while he was in town and swiped right on Stephanie’s profile. A few days later, Stephanie was sitting on her bridesmaid Kay’s couch for their weekly viewing of “The Bachelorette.” She comes across Joe’s profile, with a very honest bio: “I still live at home with my parents, and I only eat leftover pizza after it’s been sitting out all night. If you put that stuff in the fridge, we’re going to have problems.” How could she resist? Steph and Joe immediately hit it off. They were happy learn that their high priority mutual interests lined up: good food, Nintendo 64, accounting, euchre, and Spongebob. It couldn’t have been going any better…until Joe mentioned that he actually lived in Detroit. Deflated, Steph almost ended their conversation then and there. But for some reason, she couldn’t. There was just something about Joe. A few weeks later, Joe came back to visit his now groomsmen Sam, Mitch, and Ross…and to take Stephanie on their first official date. A few months later, Joe took the leap and moved to Pittsburgh. Throughout Joe and Stephanie’s six-year relationship, there have been new cities, new apartments, a new house, and new jobs. They have gone through the hardest times of their lives together, supporting one another and growing even closer. There has been no shortage of love, fun, games of Mario Party, football Sundays at William Penn Tavern, and trips home to Detroit. Joe proposed to Stephanie on July 5th, 2021 on the beach at her favorite vacation spot in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, while her entire family and matron of honor, Martina, watched nearby. It was the happiest day of their lives, and they can’t wait to top it, celebrating their wedding with all of you at Oakmont Country Club!
