Jody and Lev first met during Lev's third year of Medical School and Jody's first year as an OB/GYN Resident. Lev was on his medical school rotation at Arrowhead's Labor and Delivery (L&D) department in October of 2020. Jody and Lev were working together in the clinic setting as well as on L&D when a fateful Nurse's potluck sparked initial interest. One L&D nurse asked Lev if he had a girlfriend to which he replied, "I would have to have time to find someone to go on a date with first." To which Jody chimed in from the side, "Dude, same." Flash forward to one week following the first round of his OB/GYN rotation when Lev worked up the courage to text Jody and ask her to dinner (how he got her number is still a mystery). Lev cooked up a great dinner and they had a wonderful first date, but first year of residency stresses got the better of Jody and she let him know that she didn't feel like she had time to date. Flash-forward 5 months to April 2021, when Lev was placed on his second OB/GYN rotation. The stress goggles lifted and Jody had a clear head after her first-year exams. Upon re-examination she realized how cute, smart, and funny Lev was and how much they had in common. One evening when covering night shift, Jody called Lev telling him that she needed him, to which he responded "Oh! Dr. Barnhardt!" Even though she really just needed his medical Spanish services, that comment stole her heart. Encouraged by flirtatiousness from Jody during the rest of the rotation, Lev, once again, had the courage to ask Jody on another date. She said yes and the rest is history. Jody and Lev have had to work through long distance as he rotated off-site in his fourth year of medical school and then again after Match Day when he was placed at UNC Chapel Hill. They love making the best of every moment they have together; traveling when they can to destinations like Park City, Utah, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and even Portofino, Italy to name a few. They have a shared passion for food, wine, skiing, and experiencing new adventures together. Lev asked Jody to share a lifetime of adventures with him on June 10, 2023 while they were visiting the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. A site that holds sentimental value for Jody. They are so excited to get to share the next chapters of their story with you and can't wait for the memories they will create together.
