A dirty wrinkly jacket with a witty answer to a silly question, "So, what's your favorite dinosaur?" Back in September of 2021 on an online dating website, where most 21st century love stories begin, Jace and Erin both "swiped right" and began talking. Exchanging messages back and forth quickly turned into exchanging phone numbers and hours of conversation to follow. After a few short weeks, Jace asked Erin out for dinner, and insisted he drive over two hours from Barnstable to Spencer, to come pick her up at her door! (You don't see that kind of chivalry anymore!) Two months later in November, Jace was waiting for a litter of puppies to be born and old enough for adoption! He had been waiting quite some time when he finally got word the liter had been born, but unfortunately, he wasn't chosen to receive a puppy from this liter and would have to wait until another liter was born and enter a lottery again. A post on social media a few days later advertised a litter of puppies from a family farm in West Brookfield, MA. They had labs and there were two puppies left. The couple set out the next day to the farm and outside in a small pen were two 8-week-old puppies, one full of energy and spunk, the other solemn and gently moseying around the pen. Jace picked up the first puppy and said I think I like this one! The instant those words left his mouth, the other puppy turned away and pouted like you have never seen in your life! Erin stopped and said, "No, we can't do this, oh my God you hurt her feelings! Take it back!! Tell her you want her!". When Jace looked over and saw her sad, little puppy face, He changed his mind and said, "Ok, Ok! You can come home with us!" Once inside the car, in her new mom's arms, Willow Grace settled in for the long ride home, as a new family of 3! Over the next year, as Erin recovered from a back injury and out of work, the two began on their journey of getting to know one another often by going for long walks with Willow Grace, of course, to help Erin heal. The pair would spend several days a week going to local beaches to look for sea glass washed up on shores. During these sea glass hunting walks Jace and Erin would also talk and get to know each other more and soon become a favorite pastime for the couple. They also spent hours hiking all over the state in parks and forests, spending time out in nature is the couple's favorite thing to do. As well as taking road trips to NH, NC and Buffalo along the way! After a year of dating, it was time to combine their two separate lives into one as a family of 7, moving to Somerset in the Fall of 2022 with their four cats: Beau, Romi, Gilly and Lola, and dog, Willow Grace. In an old white farmhouse built in 1825, they began to set up their newly shared space together, creating projects to update and personalize their place and turn it into a home. September 18, 2022, Erin set up a surprise proposal for Jace on a beach in Mattapoisett, MA. Disguised as a birthday photoshoot for Willow, (He said yes!) A few weekends later, during peak foliage, Jace drove Erin up to Franconia, NH, to their favorite river, and with the help of Willow, proposed to Erin, where she said, "I do too!" They've spent the last two years planning for the most exquisite night of their lives and can't wait to share it with all of you, our most important, favorite people. It's you who have been there all along the way, to help shape and guide each one of us into the people we are today, which made us the couple we have become. We couldn't have done any of this without all of you. So, get ready for the night of your life sharing in the night of ours! ~Welcome to the Wedding of Jace Patrick Brouillette & Erin Marie Van Ness~
