Our Story

by Greg Woodbury

To tell this tale we must go way back in time maybe late 90's. It was then we first met at Easter and I was meeting a lot of new family (after my mother remarried.) Now I know what your all thinking "wait he met his soon to be wife at a family function?" Crazy. We then went years without seeing each other. When I was older my mother was always asking when I would bring a girl home to meet her? Little did I know I was never going to bring a girl home to meet my mother because she showed up on her own. It was 2011, Thanksgiving at the Inn my parents owned . The the door opened and some unfamiliar voices were heard. I turned to see this beautiful blond walk up the stairs and right into the house. A little taken back by her beauty I quickly started to try and remember who these people were with no avail. As a well mannered man that my mother raised me to be I introduced myself and struck up a convo with this girl who I couldn't take my eyes off of. I proceeded to try and get to know Kayla as much as possible I can't even tell you what happened in the football game, hell I was so attracted to her that no one else is a memory at that point except her (sorry other family). Here's what I remember from re- meeting her for the first time, big bright smile, bright blond hair a bubbly personality and quick wit (it's only gotten quicker). Looks we're being exchanged as others caught on to our smiles and comments. The night ended and just like that this beautiful girl I just re met was leaving and that was the end of our beginning but not the end of us. We kept in touch and I had her come visit Boston a few times showing her the sights and attractions. Kayla was getting ready to move to Durango and I was unsure what would happen but she was not. After many unsuccessful attempts I was not able to lure her back to the east coast. I was not going to convince her. After that realization I packed up my things and headed west to Colorado and it has been the best decision ever made.
