The Wedding Website of Genevieve Willman and Cody Santangelo

Mel Reed

Maid of Honor

Mel and Genny met senior year at Purdue through Keaton and Cody. Genny will fully admit that she was first intimidated by Mel. After Keaton and Mel finally moved to Indy, Mel and Genny would walk for hours while Cody and Keaton had soccer practice with their rec soccer team. Yes, it was adorable. They bonded over their love of quilting, Purdue sports, cats, Mel's dog Coney, Formula 1, and making fun of Cody and Keaton. Since graduating, Genny, Cody, Keaton and Mel have had a lot of adventures together. Disney, Holiday World, the Grand Canyon, a double-wide trailer in East Austin, the list goes on.

Keaton Reed

Best Man

Keaton and Cody met the first day of freshman year at Purdue during a floor meeting in their residence hall. They quickly bonded over playing video games and their love of sports. Cody got Keaton into soccer, which lead to Keaton being the first student to beat their RA in FIFA (a big accomplishment for the floor). Keaton convinced Cody to go to the Ross-Ade Brigade (Purdue's football student section) leadership callout, getting him forever involved in Purdue Athletics. What followed were many years of shenanigans, funny memories, and plenty of endless nights playing Xbox.

Josephine Roth

Maid of Honor

Josephine and Genny became best friends at the ages of 5 and 6, running around the Central West End. They had sleepovers almost every weekend. The Roth house always felt like a second home to Genny. When asked, they would always say they were sisters. They would spend countless hours swinging on Genny's front porch swing doing homework, dissecting the latest episode of Gossip Girl, and listening to their iPods. Once they were old enough to have cell phones, the most common text they sent each other was “Porch?”.

Bill Swift

Groomsman

Bill and Cody lived on the same floor freshman year and were in the same group for their freshman Engineering class. Countless nights were spent together building a barely functioning robot for class. From Cody covering Bill's butt when it came to Physics homework to Bill chasing Cody around the residence hall while Cody was on crutches freshman year, their bond continued to grow through all four years at Purdue. The honorary 6th Man of 2485, Bill was that little bit of crazy the guys had to liven up anything they were doing.

Mary Kate Keenoy

Bridesmaid

Mary Kate and Genny met one summer in middle school at SLU’s culinary camp. They pretty instantly became good friends. After that first week, they made sure they always signed up for the same week every summer. Together they weathered mean girls, cute counselors with great music taste, hot mornings in the garden, yelling “OPEN OVEN” every five minutes, and having to watch Supersize Me. Genny is grateful to SLU for a lot more than teaching her how to make tofu smoothies. Mary Kate has been a steadfast friend every year since.

Michael Marino

Groomsman

Cody and Michael met at the Ross-Ade Brigade leadership callout after Keaton introduced the both of them. They spent countless football pregames together, bonding over what was probably the worst 4 year stretch of Purdue football in its history. Luckily, the two of them didn't let Purdue's play hurt their friendship. After freshman year, Cody and Michael continued to connect over playing soccer, their daily lunch "Chel" game in between classes, and their weekly Italian sausage dinners. Even though Cody and Michael always joked about whose Engineering discipline was easier, they knew it was in good fun! (Civil Engineering > Chemical Engineering)

Ashleigh Moreland

Bridesmaid

Ashleigh and Genny met freshman year at Purdue when a mutual friend wanted to start her own sorority, Mu Mu Mu. We had one meeting in the lobby of Harrison Hall and then all of the girls, except Ashleigh and Genny, ended up joining real, non-cat themed sororities and didn’t hang out the rest of freshman year. Then in a sophomore year civil engineering class, Genny recognized Ashleigh, sat down right next to her, and just started talking. Only later did Genny find out that this actually terrified Ashleigh. Thankfully Genny didn't scare her off and they stuck together the rest of the college. They were co-captains of the concrete canoe team and their canoe did not sink!

Cameron Smith

Groomsman

Cameron and Cody first met freshman year through Michael since they lived across the hall from each other. The two of them instantly connected over their love of soccer, especially their support of Manchester United. Purdue had tons of Manchester United haters so they had to stick together, even as the team's quality started to decline. As roommates junior and senior year, Cam was always down to join Cody in a game of Foyer League Soccer or to wake up early on the weekends to watch some Premier League and support the Red Devils.

Bailey Schumm

Bridesmaid

Bailey and Genny met in high school at Cor Jesu Academy. Their senior year they were costume-crew co-captains, for quite possibly the hardest costumed musical a high school can do, The Wizard of Oz. They were definitely in it for the street cred that being on costume crew gave you. They stayed friends through the freshman flip, the sophomore swap, even the junior jump and after. They even still use their terrible nicknames for each other, Viking (Bailey) and Bulldozer (Genny). Don't ask.

Zach Oberhaus

Groomsman

Zach and Cody also met freshman year through Michael since Zach was Michael's roommate. The two of them continued to hang out through mutual friends until they really bonded sophomore year starting with a very memorable Secret Santa at Third Street Suites. As roommates junior and senior year, Zach and Cody were always the most outgoing chefs, even though it wasn't hard to beat the other three guys. Once they both moved to Indianapolis after graduation, Zach and Cody continued to hang out playing beer league volleyball and kickball while learning a new city.

Amy Smith

Officiant

When Genny and Cody were trying to think of someone who would not only be an amazing officiant but also meant a great deal to them both, Amy Smith immediately popped into their heads. Amy is one of the sweetest people they know and is the best personal hype woman. When they asked her to be their officiant, tears may have been shed.
