Genny and Cody can't remember the first time they met sophomore year at Purdue in Civil Engineering. Instead, they slowly became friends over the years, despite Cody always falling asleep in the front of the class and Genny goofing off in the back. Genny and Cody spent many many hours junior and senior year in the beloved civil computer room (1212 to our homies) working through homework and group projects. Cody never seemed to have as much homework as Genny. Later in junior year it started to become clear that Genny and Cody liked each other. So clear, that Michael Marino (a roommate and groomsman) stalked Genny on Facebook to see if she was single (she was). It wasn't until the beginning of senior year that Cody finally asked Genny out on a date. It wasn't the best first date (the movie was a flop), but Genny stuck around anyway. It did include ice cream, after all.

After just two months of searching, Genny and Cody were about to close on the cutest house in the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana. They had kept the house a secret from all of their friends, because who doesn't love a big reveal? Genny had no idea they were keeping more than one secret! On the day of the closing, while taking pictures on their new front porch (the obligatory "We bought a house!" pictures), Cody got down on one knee, and asked Genny to marry him. Only his mom and our realtor (shoutout Elizza Wilson from Maywright Property Co.) knew about his plans. Of course most people would say yes to this. Genny however, cackled in his face. There is video evidence of Genny's next words: "Are you serious?! Right now?! This is the moment?! Oh my god! Okay!". So, Genny never really said "Yes". Cody proposed with Genny's paternal grandmother's ring, and it was a perfect fit.
