I met this beautiful soul in college during a work study program at the University of New Orleans on-campus day care. We both migrated to Houston after Katrina. I love how we don’t have to talk every day but when we do get together it’s like we never missed a beat. What amazes me about Tiffany is she is so resilient. As many tough situations God has thrown at her she still manages to bounce back 2000%. I couldn’t think of anyone else to stand next to me as my Matron of Honor. Her marriage to her husband John Washington is a solid relationship that has been going on for 12 years now. Anita is one of strongest women I know. We met in 10th grade. Who knew we would have a friendship that lasted through 2 decades and still counting. We should definitely have our own TV reality show about all the shenanigans we participate in. A graduate of LSU, masters degree and a survivor of breast cancer, she can make you smile when you are feeling down and will make you do a music video on demand! We have several in our vault. I couldn’t think of anyone else to stand right beside me as my Maid of Honor. She knows me so well- inside and out! Look out for the Snapchat queen, she will be snapping and posting the whole night!

Ashley is my longest standing friendship. We met in the 3rd grade when I was a new student at Vic A Pitre Elementary school. So nervous that I wouldn't make any friends, she came right up to me and introduced herself with that pretty smile of hers! A true definition of Superwoman! I still can’t imagine how she juggles being an awesome mom to 3 kids (Brooklyn, Bronx and Harlem), a wonderful wife to her husband Tony and a great daughter/aunt/friend. No matter what I’m going through- good or bad she manages to find time to catch up with me. She’s one of those friends that will tell you like it is! I am so glad that God has crossed our paths. He knew that I needed her in my life. Our friendship goes back to 2006 when I moved to Houston from Hurricane Katrina and we worked together in sales. Our jobs had separated but our bond grew stronger as we leaned on each other for support. She was my coworker at first but then she turned into my sister/friend. If I need a favor- anything, BIG or small, I can always count on her. I love our talks about life, love and GOD. She never fails to empower me. Originally from El Salvador and a graduate of University of Houston, she is a round-of-the way girl. One minute we can go from talking about life's problems to thanking God for favor!
