Oak Street in Hood River has many cute shops and art galleries to explore.
Hiking
This is an absolutely beautiful region for hiking. There are a variety of trails available nearby. Be aware that due to recent fires, the Coyote Wall and Labyrinth trails are likely not open as of July 2025.
Ferment Brewing Company
Delicious beers, good food, nice views of the river. Lots of casual outdoor seating.
Wine Tasting
There are plenty of excellent wineries in the Hood River area, including some options in town and a few that are a short drive away. This link provides some more guidance on the subject.
Grasslands Barbecue
A delicious BBQ spot. Even David approves and he is from the south! It is also located next to several other food carts, which are all great options!
Hood River Lavender Farms
A beautiful farm to stroll through and purchase some local products. Also, conveniently located next to Stave & Stone Winery!
Whitewater Rafting
Raft the White Salmon River! This outfitter leads trips for all different experience levels.
Windsurf, Kitesurf, or Wingsurf
The Columbia River Gorge is one of the top destinations in the world for windsports. There are several outfitters in town that do rentals and/or lessons.
Drive the Hood River Fruit Loop
A 35 mile loop drive with great views and passing by 28 farms with fruit stands.
