Question

What's with the accommodations charge?

Answer

Pocono Springs charges an upfront cost of $150 per adult** (12+ up) and $75 per child (6-12) to stay in their cabins for the weekend. Children 5 and under are free. Let us explain! We are so excited to be sharing this weekend with our closest friends and family. To make the most of this time, we reserved the entire facility. This means that once you're here, there's no worrying about getting to different event locations, meals, or anything else since everything will be on the grounds. Lastly, there are no other fees or charges. So sports equipment, lake activities, etc. are all a part of the experience! Food and booze are on us! The charge for the cabins is Pocono Springs' rate that we have covered up front. We think for the opportunity it provides, we are getting a great deal. If this an impediment to you being able to attend, please let us know! There is a slightly higher rate for anyone staying in a private or semi-private cabin. There are not enough private and semi-private accommodations for everyone, so we will be reaching out to those who have a greater need for one first. If you're more comfortable finding your own accommodations elsewhere, we understand! You're welcome to join for all activities throughout the weekend, regardless of whether you stay in the cabins or not. **Please note that linens are not included. Be sure to pack a comforter, sheets (or sleeping bag!), pillow, and towel for your stay. See packing list below. Let us know if you need help making this happen!

Question

How can I pay for my cabin?

Answer

Please send cabin payments via Venmo to @PSC-Cabins-Stack. If it asks for the last four numbers of the associated phone number, use 6677. We greatly appreciate payment at the time of RSVP. If you are not a Venmo user, please contact us by phone, text or email daveandtarryn@gmail.com

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

WELCOME DINNER - Casual - If the weather is clear, we will be spending time on the deck of the dining hall, enjoying an evening by the lake. Otherwise, we will be inside the dining hall. CEREMONY & RECEPTION We strongly believe in the idea of "look good, feel good". With that in mind, come feeling great! Whatever looking great means to you is good by us. Now, we don't want you feel left hanging by a non-descript style guide, so to soothe your fashion anxiety, here's some pointers: - Think "fall garden party" - Wear what you're happiest in, but please make it better than jeans or shorts, but less than a tux - While we all have a favorite t-shirt or polo, this is a chance to show off your best and pressed button up, blouse, dress, Hawaiian print, etc. - Ties are welcome in all forms, but not required. - You'll have a chance to wear your chacos and crocs all weekend, but for this part of it, something a step up is best. Chuck Taylors are welcome at all times. - We'll be on grass for the ceremony, stilettos not recommended - If these guidelines have been helpful but you need more, don't hesitate to reach out to us well in advance. REST OF THE WEEKEND Comfortable clothes are camp clothes! September is typically dry and exceedingly comfortable in the Poconos. Think low 70's during the day to upper 50's at night. If it gets cool in the evening, don't worry -- everything at camp is within a short walking distance. Your extra layer is nearby!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Weather will likely be in the low 70's during the day and the low 50's at night: https://weatherspark.com/y/22901/Average-Weather-in-East-Stroudsburg-Pennsylvania-United-States-Year-Round Please see above for information regarding attire for specific weekend wedding events. Plan on bringing bedding for twin beds, pillows and towels (after all, a towel is about the most massively useful thing a traveler can have). Given that the cabins do not have heat and the camp strictly prohibits space heaters, pack an extra blanket or sleeping bag for added warmth. Heated blankets are allowed, so throw that in if you prefer a toasty bed. For those traveling by air, please reach out to us and we will work with you on linens. Please bring any extra snacks you and yours may need. Please note that this is a summer camp and they don't want food in their cabins. Coolers in cars is the preferred place for your family's snacks at camp. If you have a favorite yard game (bocce ball, horseshoes, kuub, frolf basket, cornhole, etc.), bring it! East Stroudsburg has all the amenities one may need, so if you forget an item, the local grocery and box stores nearby will likely have it. In case you are a checklist person, here you go: - Pillow - Sheets (twin for group cabin, full for private and semi-private), comforter/sleeping bag and pillow. (Bedding should be 1 per person for those in a group cabin, since the beds are twin-size) - Heated blanket (if you think you'll need one) - Towel - Beach towel - Toiletries - Prescriptions - Shower flip flops, if that's your thing - Snacks - Camping or beach chair - Yard games - Headlamp/flashlight - Hammock - Sleeping mask (the cabins have blinds, but not shades) - Ear plugs (for you light sleepers out there) - Stuff - Other stuff - Extra stuff

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We're so excited to celebrate with everyone in our community, kids included! We also understand that parents can benefit from a weekend off, so we'll leave it up to you whether you'd like to include your little ones. Depending on interest, we may look into hiring a babysitter to help watch over our youngest guests during Saturday's reception. Let us know if you plan on your kids being there and we will work with all interested parties on a situation that works for everyone!

Question

What's the deal with late-night noise? I'm concerned about being able to sleep!

Answer

We totally hear you! Beauty sleep is important to us, too. Pocono Springs does not allow amplified music after 10 pm, so once the reception ends, those who would like to retreat to a quiet cabin don't have to worry about bumpin party jams. We anticipate moving any kind of an after party down to the lakefront, a good distance away from cabins, to strike a balance between night owls and early birds. Please contact us with any questions or concerns!

Question

What's the best way to contact you?

Answer

daveandtarryn@gmail.com is the best for all of your inquiries. If you have something more pressing, please call us at 410-303-6677 (Dave) or 203-417-8768 (Tarryn). Homing pigeon, smoke signal, telegram, Morse code, feature film, digital short, Vines, Tik-Toks, pictograph, sky writing, thrown rock with note attached, logs on desert island spelling "HELP", etc. are all greatly appreciated and encouraged but we do not guarantee reception or response. ASL also accepted in limited circumstances only.

Question

What food will be provided?

Answer

At camp, there will be a welcome dinner Friday night, three meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. The welcome dinner will be a barbecue. Both breakfasts will be full, hot meals. Lunch will consist primarily of sandwich makings and salads. Hoer d'oeuvres will be available during cocktail hour Saturday evening. The reception dinner will have multiple options. All meals will have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options; however, we need to request those in advance. If you have a dietary restriction, please indicate it in your RSVP and email us at daveandtarryn@gmail.com to ensure receipt. The menu will be finalized in September, so check back then for what will be served for each meal. Please don't hesitate to reach out at any point. Please bring your own snacks! Please note that this is a summer camp and they don't want food in their cabins. Coolers in cars is the preferred place for your family's snacks at camp.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Of course! When you RSVP for the meals, there will be a there will be an opportunity to add any sensitivity or allergies there. We'll work with Pocono Springs to ensure your needs are met to the best of our ability. You can always email us to confirm receipt of the request: daveandtarryn@gmail.com.

Question

Can I bring my boat to use on the lake?

Answer

No, sorry. Outside boats are not allowed on the lake. The camp has everything else you'll need for being on the water. If you have a personal life vest you prefer, by all means, bring it.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

We wish you could, but unfortunately no. Also, say hi to your pup for me.

Question

Will alcohol will be provided?

Answer

For those guests 21 and up, we will be providing beer, wine (both kinds!), and select liquor at Friday's welcome dinner and Saturday's cocktail hour and reception. Pocono Springs cannot allow us to serve anyone who has over indulged. We respectfully ask that you have a great time within your limits. (Irony noted.) If you think you'll be extra thirsty during the day, Pocono Springs does not prohibit you from bringing in your own booze.

Question

Can I bring marijuana?

Answer

As of this writing, THC products (AKA, marijuana and those products derived from it) are prohibited for recreational use in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. That may change between now and the weekend of September 27-29, 2024. Either way, please plan accordingly.

Question

Is smoking permitted at camp?

Answer

There is a dedicated smoking area behind the theater. There is no smoking or vaping anywhere else on camp property including in cabins, porches, camp buildings or in open field spaces. Smoking outside of the designated area can lead to us losing our security deposit, so please check with a camp representative on the location of the smoking area.

Question

May I bring a space heater for my cabin?

Answer

Sorry, this is a HUGE no-go for the camp. While the camp does have just about everything you'd need for a spectacular weekend, it does not have an electrical system that can support space heaters. Use of a heater could lead to us losing our deposit. Plug-in heated blankets are allowed. We understand you may be concerned about a chilly cabin! They will typically stay about 10 degrees warmer than the outside temperature. If that's not enough, we can also recommend other ways to stay warm like wool socks, sleeping bags, an added blanket, and of course, cuddle puddles.

Question

I like you guys, but I'd like to watch sports that weekend. Is that cool?

Answer

We get it! Dave also likes to watch the muscular people make the points happen! With that in mind, sports are available most other weekends. This is a great chance to disconnect to the greatest extend possible and ignore the rest of the world. An exception will be made for discreet checking of whether the O's are going to clinch a playoff spot Friday or Saturday night.

Question

What kind of covid precautions can we expect?

Answer

We are as exhausted by covid as you are, no doubt! That being said, the only way to move past this pandemic is if everyone takes responsibility for their health and that of those around them. We respectfully ask that you are updated on your covid, RSV and flu vaccines (if available). Of course, if you have symptoms or test positive, please let us know. We will work to make reasonable accommodations using the most recent CDC guidelines, while maintaining our top priority of everyone being healthy.
