FAQs

If you have any questions other than what is listed here, please reach out to Laura or Chuck!
Question

Are you taking any COVID precautions for your event?

Answer

Yes! Everyone's health and safety is of utmost importance to us. Please check the "COVID Precautions" section on the "Home" tab of our wedding website. You can find it by scrolling down about halfway on the page.

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

Cocktail or semiformal attire please! Jackets and ties, short or long dresses or pantsuits are all appropriate. Please note we will be having a second line parade around the block between our ceremony and reception so consider comfy footwear!

Question

Can we take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We will be having an unplugged ceremony! We would ask that you kindly turn off all cell phones and cameras until after our ceremony is finished. During the reception please feel free to take photos to your heart's content. We promise to share our beautiful ceremony photos with you :)

Question

What is a second line and how will guests participate?

Answer

A second line is a New Orleans tradition at weddings, jazz funerals, and other occasions. It is a parade through the streets led by a brass band. The bride and groom and the brass band make up the "first line", and the wedding guests follow behind the band as the "second line". We will be doing a second line after our ceremony and before the reception starts--this means closing down Esplanade and parading in the street! This will involve walking for about 20 minutes, so we recommend that you consider comfortable footwear.

Question

Will there be assigned seating at the reception? How will dinner be served?

Answer

New Orleans wedding receptions are typically a "cocktail" format with no assigned seating. This will be a new experience for our out of town guests but rest assured it will be just as fun and there is plenty of seating to accommodate everyone who is trying to find a seat at the same time--and you can choose your own tablemates!. Instead of dinner being served at a set time, the food stations will be open for several hours so you are welcome to eat whenever you're hungry (and go back for seconds later too!)

Question

Will dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Answer

Yes! Please indicate any dietary restrictions on your RSVP form.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your kids--we really do! However, we are not able to accommodate children at our wedding. We want our celebration to be your night off! If you are an out of town guest, please let us know if you need a recommendation for a babysitter.
