Shenandoah National Park stretches 105 miles of the Appalachian Trail and boasts blue ridge views, waterfalls, and lots of wilderness for adventurous activities like hiking, fishing, cycling, rock climbing, or camping. If you're getting out to Shenandoah, Old Rag is a must-see mountain peak!
There are so many amazing vineyards and wineries in the greater Charlottesville area, we couldn't pick just one! It really is like the Napa/Sonoma of the south! The Monticello wine trail has several amazing vineyards to choose from.
There are several civil war battlefields and historical sites in the Charlottesville area, but Appomattox was the location where General Lee surrendered to General Grant, ending the civil war. Again- definitely for the history buffs!
