Doug grew up in Raleigh, NC and Angela grew up in Crofton, MD. Charlottesville is the perfect midpoint from where we grew up (and drive-able from where most of our guests live). It is an absolutely stunning place to get married, and worth the trip out from California for us to be close to home, on the right coast ;).
Our cocktail hour and ceremony will be outdoors, weather permitting. Our reception will be in an open-sided clear top tent with capacity for 250 seated guests. If there is rain and wind, the sides of the tent will be enclosed.
Yes, Cocktail Attire.

Our vow renewal will be about 45 minutes away from downtown Charlottesville in an area with very limited Uber and cell service. We will provide a shuttle to the reception and back to the hotels in our room block. If you must drive, please come prepared with maps and directions printed. Please see the Travel page for more details.
The Hampton Inn is the most budget-friendly option that we have been able to find. The Residence Inn Downtown is the nicest and most expensive option that we have.
No! We do not have any room minimums that we must meet. However, there is a home UVA football game on our weekend 9-11-21, and hotels/Airbnb's often fully book for the games. Please book early as lodging may become difficult to find after our blocks expire in July/August. See the Travel Page for more information.
We highly recommend flying into CHO. There are several connections through Charlotte and other large regional airports.
Yes! There are plenty of parking spots at The Market at Grelen. However, we recommend going car-free for our wedding events as shuttles will be provided.
Adults only please.
