Hayley and Amanda have been friends for about 20 years! They met at the old TaeKwon-Do school in the room where Mrs. White held Girl Scout meetings, when shy Amanda slowly made her way in to take part in the arts and crafts. The two of them bonded through TKD, and along with Cordero they were the iconic trio of best friends. They both attended Lathrop, and Hayley went off to Virginia Tech to get her degree in Applied Economics. She is now working as a data analyst in Louisville. Hayley is a talented third degree black belt in TKD and competed alongside Amanda on team USA. She also played the violin throughout school and was a devout girl scout for most of her life, always helping her mom with her troop. She now spends her free time tutoring refugees and spending time with her kitty, Missy!
Tristan Tomsha

Tristan and Seth have known each other for about 10 years, becoming friends in high school. Tristan graduated with Amanda’s class at Lathrop, and Seth a year later. In high school, he had a passion and talent for ceramic art! Tristan is a Navy veteran, where he worked on multiple ships doing IT, and was stationed in both Virginia and Japan. He is currently attending UAF for his accounting degree. Him and Amanda’s bestie Rachael have been dating for a year and a half. His favorite pastime is listening to music, and he loves the Seattle Seahawks! He wants to eventually open up a ceramics studio in Fairbanks, possibly with Seth, and have it open to the public as a business to come in and make their own ceramic art!
Rachael Hall

Rachael and Amanda have been friends since kindergarten at Denali Elementary and both attended the same schools until graduation. They lived just down the street from each other and used to ride bikes and roller blade all the time. Rachael was an amazing dancer for 18 years in jazz, ballet, tap, and hip-hop, and even learned African, Latin, and swing dancing in college. She was also a talented cross country and track runner with Amanda in high school, and knows her way well around a drum set! She is now a dental hygienist in Fairbanks after graduating from Utah College of Dental Hygiene, and she is a new homeowner! She loves to travel the world and also enjoys running, being vegan, podcasts, Tristan, and Harry Potter.
Lance Thibedeau

Lance met Seth in high school through Tristan where they clicked as friends immediately. Lance took some classes at Lathrop, including orchestra with Amanda, and graduated with Seth. The two of them have lived together in Alaska and traveled together to Hawaii. He has been there for Seth as a brother through thick and thin! He is currently attending UAF, pursuing a degree in Northern Studies. He is a certified scuba diver and has dived all over AK, including Homer and Seldovia. He does maintenance work and assists his family in managing the Front St rentals. He enjoys politics, is very involved in what is happening in the community, and wants to do his best to make AK better. He is talented on the string bass, enjoys traveling/adventuring, and has the biggest and most caring heart!
Shannon Fitzpatrick

Shannon and Amanda have been friends since middle school at Ryan, where they officially met in Orchestra class when they were assigned as violin stand partners. However, they used to compete against each other when they were very young at local martial arts tournaments. Shannon is a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, which she has been doing since she was 4. She is also a talented ballet, tap, and jazz dancer, which she did for 20 years. Shannon is graduating from University of Nevada, Las Vegas in May 2019 with a degree in exercise science, and then will be coming back to Fairbanks (with her fiance, Josh! They just got engaged!) to hopefully work in cardiac rehabilitation. She enjoys running, Corgis, and singing, and like Amanda, hates leeches and spiders!
Mason Anderson

Mason and Seth actually met through Amanda and became friends as Seth and Amanda started dating. Mason and Amanda have been friends since middle school at Ryan! After high school, Mason lived in New York, Texas, and LA for some time, but is now back in Fairbanks! He went to flight school and got his pilot's license a few years ago after only about 60 hours of flight time, has flown all over Alaska, and can still fly with an instructor. He has a passion for flying and may eventually go back to re-certify, but the time and money required is a lot! Currently, he is working at Arctic Fire and Safety as an expediter, and eventually wants to get into construction and the Laborer's Union! He's an amazing downhill skier and also enjoys biking, flying his drone, cars, and the Seattle Seahawks.
Austin Fitzgerald

Austin and Amanda have been close friends since middle school at Ryan, but knew each other before then through TaeKwon-Do. Austin was a black belt at another local Fairbanks school in town, and they competed against each other often. Austin once kicked Amanda so hard in the head as a kid, she cried; she never lets him forget that. He currently lives in LA as an extremely successful cross fit / personal trainer, and has a degree in exercise physiology from Mesa State. He loves power lifting, traveling, climbing mountains, rock climbing, skydiving, cliff diving, snowboarding, and basically doing anything and everything adventurous and dangerous. He also has a talent for filming and editing videos of his adventures and making them look professional!

Jeannie and Seth met towards the end of high school through their mutual friend, Lance, and have been good friends since then. She and Amanda met in middle school and they graduated from Lathrop in the same year. Jeannie has a talent for picking out the most personable and meaningful gifts for people, and she has yet to miss giving Seth a birthday and a Christmas present every year. She's a very supportive friend who cares deeply about the happiness of the people she loves, and she always puts others first. She is currently working and nannying in Fairbanks. She enjoys collecting shoes, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. Her dream job is owning and running her own shoe business!
Breanne Meath

Breanne and Amanda met and became friends at Denali in fourth grade, and eventually graduated together from Lathrop. They were in "Hairspray" together their senior year (Bre played Penny!). She has been singing for the majority of her life, participating in many different choirs in town; she is also very talented at the piano! Currently, she is pursuing a sociology degree at UAF while also working in the Nanook Diversity Action Center and managing the free store for office of sustainability on campus. She has also been a dedicated nanny for 7 years. She enjoys picking up litter around town, reading about social justice issues and educating herself on how she can be more helpful to her community. She's also a downhill skier! She's excited to be taking an aerial silks yoga class this spring!
Andre Thibedeau

Andre is Lance's older brother, so he and Seth met when Seth started hanging out with the family, and they quickly became good friends! He spends his winters in Hawaii and summers in Alaska. He is good at working with his hands; in Hawaii, he works all over the big island doing construction, and in AK, he works for GripAll! Additionally, he is a life skills coach for people with mental illness on the weekends in Hawaii. He partakes in diving, long walks on the beach, fishing, and hiking through the jungle. He also enjoys cooking on the BBQ, making pina coladas, sunsets (not sunrises), and is a professional hammock user. He gives the best hugs and is an amazingly caring friend! He loves to travel and see new places, and he is open to wherever the road takes him with new opportunities!
Sarah King

Sarah and Amanda have been friends since Kindergarten at Denali, and were in school together up until graduation! The two of them have bonded through orchestra from beginning to end; she is amazing at the cello! She was also varsity for track, xc skiing, and volleyball. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from UAF, and is currently in a master's program for special education at UAS. Since she got her degree, she has taught 1st grade at Pearl Creek and Ladd Elementary, and also did extended school year for students with disabilities. Currently, she and her boyfriend, Casey, are living in Vietnam, where she is teaching English to school children. She enjoys volleyball, running, and playing Catan in her free time, and loves to spend her summers at the lake cabin!

Aaron and Seth have been friends for about 8 years. They met in high school through mutual friends Lance and Tristan, and both graduated from Lathrop the same year. They have been good friends hanging out at Front Street ever since. He has a sweet compassion for animals and owns the infamous Front Street cat, Lion! He enjoys music, and is talented on the guitar. He is very intelligent and a great conversationalist. He enjoys partaking in friendly debates with friends, and will argue with anyone about anything...and win!

Amanda met Amanda when Seth and Amanda first started dating. Since she is married to Seth's brother, John, we call her "Amanda #1" and Amanda Hurben "Amanda #2". When they first met, one of the first things Amanda #1 said was, "Oh man, Christmas is going to be confusing!" Amanda is originally from Illinois, graduated early from high school at age 16, and moved to Alaska when she was 19. Her and John have been married for 10 years and have a son together, Kamryn. They currently live in Fairbanks, where Amanda owns her own successful cleaning business! In her spare time outside of her business and babysitting, she enjoys spending time with family and training her pitbull, Buddy! She is one of the most selfless people you will meet, a true friend, and is always the first to offer her help!
John Cheney

John is Seth's older brother by 4 years. He was born in Florida, but moved around the country multiple times as a child in a military family, and ended up in Fairbanks at age 14. Like Seth, he was a wrestler in high school, and the two of them would often wrestle each other in the house. Growing up, Seth always looked up to him. He is also married to an Amanda (bridesmaid), and they've been married for 10 years. They have a 10-year-old son, Kamryn (ring bearer). John is a Navy veteran, where he was stationed in Virginia Beach and traveled to France, Greece, Bahrain, and Dubai. He currently has his own handyman business in Fairbanks, Keep Right Repair! John enjoys keeping up with politics, spending time with family, working with his hands, and helping to train his pitbull, Buddy!
Ivy Packee

Ivy and Amanda met at TKD when Ivy started at age 4. Amanda watched her grow up in TKD until she was old enough to join her for a few worlds! Ivy now has her third degree black belt and 6 gold medals from worlds, and she's only 18! She is graduating from high school this May and is currently senior class president, planning and running many school events. Ivy has a beautiful singing voice, is a talented soccer player, and is currently in her third season of varsity softball. Her plan is to attend UAF to become a financial aid adviser for small business and personal use. Eventually, she would love to be a public speaker for Dave Ramsey to help others achieve financial success. She enjoys teaching TKD, working on all kinds of art, training her puppy, and helping friends budget their money.
Luke Scharfenberg

Luke and Seth have been friends for about 9 years and met through mutual friends. They became as close as brothers, and have been hanging out together at Front Street ever since. Luke spends his winters living in Hawaii, where Seth has stayed with him on multiple occasions. He spends his summers farming in Alaska, growing lots of vegetables and flowers, and being a vendor at local farmer's markets. He loves the outdoors, fishing, hiking, adventuring, and exploring. He enjoys Alaskan fishing and has even worked as a fisherman on a ship in Homer. He also enjoys snorkeling and spear fishing in Hawaii! He taught Seth how to spear fish and surf, and they have many crazy stories from the ocean. Luke is a true outdoorsman and also one of the kindest souls you will ever meet!
Claudia Wright

Claudia and Amanda met when Amanda started work at FMH and Claudia was assigned to train her. She has been "Team Seth & Amanda" and one of their closest work friends since day 1! She's from Georgia and came to Alaska in 2002 with the Army. She stayed in the Army for 5 years, had a daughter, Yazmyn, got out of the army in 2007, and later had her second daughter, Laneijah. She went to CNA school in 2011, worked as a Personal Care Aide while in school, then started as an ER Tech in 2013. With CNA as her minor, she is attending UAF to purse an associate's degree in Applied Business Administration. She is currently a sophomore and anticipates to graduate fall of 2020. Her plan is to operate an assisted living facility in the near future. She likes growing up with her girls and traveling.
Mike Spencer

Before Mike met Seth, he met Amanda in CNA class at UAF. He later worked in the ER and put in a good word for her, then trained her when she was hired. He was training Seth at the same time and they ended up becoming great friends! Mike is from Fairbanks, played D2 hockey at Weber State Univ in Utah, and joined the merchant marines post 9/11 in NY Harbor, working on tug boats and moving oil barges. Back in AK, he attended paramedic school and graduated with a degree in emergency services as well as a bachelor's in psychology with a biology minor. Currently he is in nursing school in Homer with his wife and 4 sons, and will graduate in December 2019. He wants to work ER/NICU and eventually get his NP. He spends lots of time on the ice coaching his boys, as he is a level 4 USA hockey coach!
