On my birthday, Xander surprised me with a nice dinner at the Melting Pot (one of our favorite date night locations) and after dinner, he mentioned there was one more surprise. He suggested we kill time at a nearby bar, The Prohibition at The Foshay hotel, so we got a drink and talked about what a great night it was. He finally said it was time go to the next surprise, so we got in the elevator and stopped on a hotel room floor! I thought it was a wonderful birthday surprise-- I had always wanted to stay at the historic Foshay-- and he led me down the hall, and when the door opened the entire room was lined with rose petals. It was beautiful and I walked into the room to take a closer look, and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him to which I embarrassingly kept asking, "Are you serious!?" before finally excitedly shouting yes! It was absolutely wonderful and we celebrated with some amazing drinks and desserts from Manny's Steakhouse.

Ashley and Xander met on a dating app in October 2019. After multiple reschedules, they finally had their first date at Lago Taco in Minneapolis. If not for her roommate (now Maid of Honor) Courtney insisting Ashley go, the couple may not have ended up meeting. They enjoyed each others company and got to know each other over drinks and tacos. It went so well, that after dinner they walked a half mile to get ice cream...at the end of October. It was an amazing first date, and ever since then, they've continued to go on fun dates and adventures as they fell in love and have grown their relationship!

Ashley and Xander travel to Chelan to spend time with Xander's father and stepmother, who have a home on Lake Chelan. It's a favorite destination, with gorgeous scenery and so much to do! They enjoy relaxing on the lake, exploring the downtown shops, and going wine tasting. During Ashley's first trip to Chelan, one of the stops that was made while wine tasting was at Tsillan Cellars, and she feel in love with the beauty and atmosphere of the winery, which is how we chose it as our venue!
