Friday through Sunday our Wedding Weekend there will be a fun "Scarecrow Festival" at Peddler's Village - a fun outdoor walking area/mall about 10 minutes away from the wedding venue. The scarecrows are totally amazing and it's so fun to stroll around and take selfies with them. Just don't do this between 12-5 on Saturday b/c we have a feeling you might be otherwise occupied :)
There will be several performances of Rocky Horror at the Bucks County Playhouse (about a five min walk from the venue) in the days leading up to the wedding (and the Sunday afterwards). Click the link to find a showtime and purchase tix!
Abby's home town Doylestown (about 20 min from the venue) will be having a "Haunted Historical Walking Tour on Friday October 20th at 6:30PM. Adv tickets are required ($10/each). Use the link above to learn more and have a spooky time!
The delightfully haunted Mercer Museum in nearby Doylestown is a great stop for anyone, anytime. But on Friday night before the wedding they'll be having a special event from 6-7:30PM. Check it out for a fun musical presentation featuring a historical journey through song and storytelling with Doylestown favorite Mukamuri.
Live Music! We love live music. And there will be TONS of local bands performing at nearby restaurants on Friday, Oct 20th - the night before the wedding. Here's just a few places we've found that have live music scheduled that night: - New Hope Winery - Havana (Cuban food) - Under the Moon Cafe (American/Italian/Spanish) - Brunello (Italian)
One of our favorite places in PA! They're open for apple picking (we'll be going apple picking the day before our wedding - see the "schedule" page on this site) but you could head there anytime. Just don't miss the donuts and apple cider on your way out :)
Who doesn't love some good old American History at a wedding? Our venue is about 15 minutes away from Washington Crossing. You can recreate the painting in a kayak, or just stroll through the 500 acre state park. For the highschoolers coming, this is a one in a lifetime chance to get ahead for your APUSH test.
The Michener Art Museum is great! Located in Abby's native Doylestown, PA (about twenty minutes from the venue) you'll find some really lovely art and great vibes. And across the street, there's the fun (and creepy) MERCER MUSEUM if you want to risk tetanus. No, but seriously - both museums are a lot of fun if you have the time.
